- On October 11th and 12th, 2021, I visited Savannah, Georgia to catch trains around the busy port city. On the 11th, I arrived just before sunrise to see the southbound Silver Meteor departing town. After a quick stop at the RJ Corman yard, where nothing seemed to be happening, I returned to the CSX A-Line. There I caught a few CSX trains along with a Georgia Central transfer and a couple Rail Link intermodal jobs. Then I ran into a CSX local with a rare YN2 GP40-2! CSX YN2 EMD units are extremely rare these days, so seeing one in operation was a real treat. I stopped by the Port of Savannah on the way to the airport the next day and saw a Rail Link switcher tying up for the day.

Fantastic Video Love It
Wonderful video like and subscribed from Czech Republic 🙂👍👍👍
OUTSTANDING videography and content as usual.
Great cinematography and editing. Thank you for uploading.
Thanks!
Thank you for documenting these trains in the Savannah, Georgia area, Sam! It was interesting to see trains in an area that I will probably never be able to see in person. It was obvious that you were in the Port of Savannah, Georgia in the last segment of the video because of all the cranes in the background for unloading and loading containers.
Thank you!
With Hurricane Ian approaching, one has to wonder how it will affect rail traffic in Savannah.
OMGeep you got 6957!
