I've watched this video four days in a row. I'm either bored (snowed in here in Fort Smith, Arkansas), forgot how much I loved woodchip hoppers, or love the videography. All three, actually. Love this one.
When I lived in Garden City, the Rail Link tracks ran practically through my backyard, and the CSX main was a short walk further on. This brings back many memories of hot summer afternoons spent watching trains.
An absolutely spectacular video! From the vintage locomotives, to the switching operations, there's something for railfans, and modeler's alike! Great job:)
I'm amazed at how sketchy a lot of these tracks are. I guess I'm used to seeing super smooth well maintained Class 1 tracks in my south Georgia/Northeast Florida area. Excellent video and camera work as usual. I'm hoping to make it up to my hometown of Swainsboro,GA soon and shoot some footage of perhaps the saddest railroad tracks in existence. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Thank you for documenting this wood chip job on the Georgia Central. Now we have the opportunity to see what type of service the Georgia Central offers to its customers. Thank you for sharing this video with us!
I just subscribed to your channel not too long ago because you're channel is so much better than the one I Was watching Jaw something or other. Absolutely love trains. I go to sleep listening to train sounds
I was bored while going through my recommendations when I saw 'GC and woodchip hoppers'. "We got a winner!!" I love them monster Greenville woodchip hoppers. I have 6 of them in HO scale, 4 KCS & 2 AN (Appalachian Northern).
Your videos just keep getting better and better. I learn so much. I just want to keep watching all day long. I just love this. Have a great day, stay safe😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I wish I had the foresight back when I visited Savannah in 2011 to film the railroads U-Boat locomotives before they were all scrapped, with the exception of 3965 which is the only one from that Railroad in preservation
Mid day about the same time as the wood chip train goes through Alabama Junction. The CSX trains are probably q410/412 and q491. You probably just missed q197 doubling up. Great video, it is always great to see local rail fanning make it to a national outlet.
Great video as always! As a Savannah local I love GC! I'm hoping that you've also done videos on both the local to Riceboro and the other short local to the chemical plant (the one that locals hate because it closes down President St down for a long time during switching operations)
I hope one day the gc will carry intermodel to Macon, where Norfolk Southern will pick it be so cool, maybe one day be a main line I know it,s a pipe dream but still lol
Great video. My second visit. Thank you for capturing these vintage GP & SW EMD units. Will Railink also lose these units to newer power? It will not be the same in this area with these larger units.
Hey DIB, next time you're in Florida you should make a video about the Seminole Gulf Railway. It's a pretty cool shortline with a lot of good photo opportunities!
Very nice video. Do you have any plans on coming down to the Arkansas and missouri railroad. If so you should let me know. I'm a local railfan that knows every inch of this line. If you haven't heard of us were and all alco and EMD railroad. Using 3 sd70aces. Multiple C420's. A t6 and a C424. Some very interesting moves for sure.
@@TheChaosJohnson remains to be seen. HOG has received the short end of the stick when it comes to power but with the addition of another GP38-2 to the four already over there... 1800 is probably going to be the backup unit, with 1713 unfortunately probably going to be retired and scrapped.
The GC 2148 came to the GC by the way of the HOG. It was traded for the HOG 6409 which is the Bayline 6409 now. The GC 1800 runs with the HOG 2130 everyday out of the HOG yard in Cordele.
Owned by GPA, the state of GA. And is protected by a few enforcement groups under Homeland Sec. Where he filmed the transfer coming into the port is on port property, and was likely told to move very quickly. Notice when filming the port job swinging out of the port, his filming location changed to a public road.
Was I the only one pleasantly surprised by the beastly horn on #1800? Definitely didn’t expect to hear that from a GP9!

Vintage engines with the wood and paper industry. Can’t beat it.

In conjunction with my official position I have been on the Port site on several occasions. That is an amazing site.
Thanks you! I appreciate your interest. Wishing you a nice day!
the switching old engine at my local yard had the same whissle as 1800, so good to hear it once again

Those tracks in Swainsboro still see trains twice a week, believe it or not. Went and photographed them last week.

RJ Corman and G&W always seem to keep their power in exemplary condition; look at that switcher at the paper mill. Let's hope that continues

Sounds like the 1800 has a K5LLA horn like on SD70ACe's
I believe it is a Nathan k5lla or normal one
Normally I wouldn’t like that, but in this strange case it fits perfectly.
i love how he said out the window " hi fomer"

Rail Link for Life!!!
Another amazing video Drayton. this was so cool.
Wow! Former Appalachicola & Northern and Meridian & Bigbee woodchip cars...don't see those names much. Great catch!
Another excellent production. The GP9R was GTW 4627 after the rebuild. It was retired by them in 2007
Love your videos.
2:00 - That locomotive sure sways a lot.
Great video as always! As a Savannah local I love GC!

If Drayton so desires, I certainly don’t mind showing him those operations next time he’s in town.
Love that Georgia central paint scheme
We have a GP9r just like the 1800, ours has the same cab and all, identical match. GTW>CN>MNN 1356 today
Which G&W company do you work for B&P?
@@bhproductions1061 i work for the Minnesota Northern Railroad, NE Minnesota.
I live only a couple minutes drive from here! I need to go check out that golf course sometime.
1800’s horn sounds awesome!
Great video Drayton!
Hello Delay in Block Productions do you think you’ll be visiting all of the other G&W Railways in the US and maybe even Canada?
You guys do such a good job documenting these G&W Railways.
I hope one day the gc will carry intermodel to Macon, where Norfolk Southern will pick it be so cool, maybe one day be a main line I know it,s a pipe dream but still lol
I myself have been to that paper plant several times to pickup paper for the laminate manufacture I work for.
Super video!
Another interesting video -- thanks DIB!
The crew there has beautiful equipment. I am used to seeing Norfolk Southern and CSX locomotives that look like they were rode hard and put up wet.
Great video, keep them coming.
Very awesome video!!. I have always been a big fan you're videos and they are very educational and very entertaining!. Keep up the Great work!.
Great video Drayton. Reminds me of the operations on the Arkansas Midland Railroad, especially with all of those wood chip hoppers.
Great work on the video. The menu at zunzi's would be murder on my stomach.
Loudest Teain Ever !!! WHATTA HAM ...& The engineer to!
Another great video.
Excellent video as always!
I love the GP-38-2's and the fabulous paint scheme!
Great video Drayton, thank you! 👍
I’d love to see you do a series of videos in Florida, the old ACL and SCL territory. Maybe hook up with Danny Harmon for a few videos also.
Danny harmen is awesome
Great video. My second visit. Thank you for capturing these vintage GP & SW EMD units. Will Railink also lose these units to newer power? It will not be the same in this area with these larger units.
I like the soundtrack
Thanks again Drayton, I hope you forgive me for my occasional sarcastic poke, I really do enjoy your work.
Great Videos of Georgia Central!
Hey DIB, next time you're in Florida you should make a video about the Seminole Gulf Railway. It's a pretty cool shortline with a lot of good photo opportunities!
Love seeing these G&W videos especially when you catch the ex Conrail unit 2148
2148 is former Atlanta and Saint Andrew’s Bay (ASAB), not Conrail.
Amazing Work.
That track looks scetchy at best. Especially in opening scenes. Rock and roll. And thats a main?
Awesome video Drayton
Great catches!
Nice video, thanks for sharing.....
Excellent Footage Drayton! 👍🏾
I suppose the logo, I've worked out, represents a knuckle coupler and could be seen as hands shaking hands. That's clever.
:0 I live in Savannah:)
I never thought the day would come that I heard a GP9 with an E-Bell
Awesome Video Love your Video's But You really make it Hard for those Fans Who like to count Car's besides that your Videos are Amazing Awesome
2148 is beautiful
6:10 solar power signal,cool one
I do like the background music at 20:10.
3:26 Hi Foamer!! lol
51:31 whooo! That made me jump that did
Is there any other commodity hauled in those high sided hoppers??
44:30 and 49:49 GIMY 1503 is ex Fordyce & Princeton 1503. Not ex Frisco.
DID YOU GUYS HAPPEN TO HOW GREAT A JOB YOU DO.

Hey, I’d love to re-visit the A&M. I was there in 2018 and would like to go back on of these days. It’s a neat railroad. -Drayton
I found the paper industry mill on Google Maps using the photo image. by searching Meldrim, Georgia.
My word, that tank train explosion was like a forerunner of Lac Megantic. Horrible .
Nice Video. 🌳🌳🌳🇮🇳
Great vidéo 👍 +Sub 😊
2:40 Speed limit 3 mph on that bumpy track.
The horn sounded like a k5lla horn sd70ace horn
Why don't you folks use a scanner so we can hear what's going on??
52:00 My Name again on a container car; 6th or 7th one I've got and seen.
Always makes me wonder where these intermodal unit are going? Are they full of American made stuff for Europe? Are they empty going back overseas?
Amazing! What camera do you use?
What happened to the 1800 since it was replaced?
Shipped to the Heart of Georgia Railroad. Still in use as of right now.
@@Kayushi Thank you for the answer. Do you think they'll use it for a while or that it will get replaced yet again via these same policies?

I see it on the VRF cam and I catch the B&P trains
how does a train stay on tracks that look like a couple of drunk worms
Sounds like SD70Ace horn
I know GC 1800 started as GP9. But what is it currently?
GP9R
Is 1800 still in service on another shoreline or has it basically been retired
It’s on the Savannah Yard Z103 local right now. Shuttles intermodal traffic to and from the ports to Savannah Yard.
Do you know owns the Wisconsin and Southern?
WATCO
Is the restricted area owed by us , un, china ?
Owned by GPA, the state of GA. And is protected by a few enforcement groups under Homeland Sec.

They got rid of them that's a little depressing I hope they don't get scrapped: (
Does anyone know why so many shortline railroads use this orange paint scheme?
They are all owned by the same company
At 2:40. The train horn sound awful. I guess it gets the job done.
2148 has a Mars light 💀
Why don’t they fix the tracks
Get notch up 32:23
G&W no longer owns these railroads a company in Toronto bought G&W so its no longer G&W i cant remember the name off the top of my head
No, it's still called G&W and will continue as it is for the foreseeable future anyway, just the ownership of it's changed
What is the company name in Toronto?
Andrew is my buddy
I Love how 95% Of his video time he goes of to another railroad rather then the one he started with lol
Pound that diamond with them butt-head switchers!!
hi
