If young folks ever wonder why us older folks think today's music sucks, it's because this is what we have to compare it to. This is real talent.
Nothing like the old stuff. Im only 34 and all I listen to is the oldies
that clarified it quick what i`m trying to tell the kids :D .. and they dont get that this is WITHOUT some damn mixer etc
try -> disperse - on the wings of a dove.
@ It's not as good.
AMEN 🙏
This still melting girls hearts all these years later incredible
Some things are just forever man, that's the beauty of true talent. The rest of us just get to be in awe.
You're sure right about that
Not to be crude, but I laughed out loud a while back after reading someone post "The Righteous Brothers: Still Dropping Panties after 60 Years..."
Hearts....no. Panties, yes.
I am 63 years old. This is my husband's "go to" song for romance. Never fails.
Maverick: "she's lost that loving feeling."
Goose: "No she hasn't."
Maverick: "Yes she has."
Goose:Throws peanut down" I hate it when she does that!"
I can’t help think about topgun when I hear this song.
All you need is a room full of Navy Aviators. Can't wait for Topgun 2
I still think of Anthony Edward every single time I hear this song. I hate it when she does that. Lol totally made that movie
a friend and me did the whole top gun bar thing we were in the navy in the late 80's and it went well but goose got the girl lol
@@belit65 😂
I'm an old dude ,78, and this is the music i grew up with, It's timeless
Compared to you, I guess I'm just a "young whippersnapper". I'm 70. You're right that this is timeless, but Doo Wop was/is great also.
Bless you. All the best to you, you lucky man! :) We gotta live with the uninspired stuff from today...
@@lealippard1045 m.p
I am 85 this songs still bring back memories
@@AFmedic I'm only 44, but you can scream at me to get off your lawn, as I scream at anyone under 30 to get off MY lawn! My parents gifted us kids with music from the 50's upward, and it makes me really glad for them that youtube & the like exist, so that they can hear anything they choose, anytime they want to.
Who knew your grandparents were so cool. I’m 72 and I had great time in the 60’s and 70’s. Loved going the dances where so cool. I loved the dances where they sang always got lucky.
Real singers with real talent are a dying breed.
The Righteous Brother's were a true representation of "blue eyed soul"
Love the delight in your face when you're listening to that.
You can literally see hearts melting when they sing. Music can bring us all together no matter who you are.
Love her reactions. Maybe if enough younger people hear this music...and talk about it...young artists will catch on, and be inspired to compose and sing more romantic stuff. The romantic, tender songs aren't cheesy...they help to elevate us.
Their voices go together like peaches and cream absolutely wonderful. The best duo that ever lived in my opinion.
Yes. Peaches and Cream were also very good.
"Soul & Inspiration" is another great song by them.
That's the one!
Yup
Absolutely.
This is the hat trick! Rocket ship!
Here's the best video link ruclips.net/video/wsnj6FmuUp8/видео.html&ab_channel=SmurfstoolsOldiesMusicTimeMachine
We called Blue eyed soul. Their music is timeless. Love them
I love that you recognize how much talent it takes to be actually singing that!.... no auto tune... just pure talent!
Thank you for not pausing and CONTINUALLY talking through the video like so many other reactors.
They have to do that or they get copywrite striked and the video gets blocked.
Oddly, Tom Cruise actually sang "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" at his wedding to his wife. That's a strange thing to sing to your bride on the wedding day... especially since he really can actually sing. I guess we shouldn't be too surprised that she did actually lose the loving feeling.
Sometimes I forget how old I am. I was thinking going into this, "Who hasn't heard the Righteous Brothers sing 'You've lost that loving feeling' before". Then I see how young Shiloh is and realize that the GenZ's (Possibly Millennial?) of course have not heard this music before. I'm so happy to see that these classics are getting revitalized by this generation. Shiloh, you should check out some more classics. Check out The Temptations singing "Earth Angel", Gladys Knight's "Midnight Train to Georgia", Otis Redding's "(Sitting on) The Dock of the Bay", and Mamas and the Papas' "California Dreaming". I think you will like them.
Yeah, I had the same sensation when I saw reactors like Shiloh watching Unchained Melody for the first time. I even had to ask my younger coworkers if they'd ever heard the song. They hadn't.
She’s even too young to have heard this in Top Gun. We are old.
Geoffrey Jackson 😂😂😂
I hear what you’re saying but this was old when I was her age (the 90s) and people just seemed to have a far broader knowledge of old music. And that was at a time RUclips, Spotify etc. didn’t exist so access to music was radio, television or buying albums which cost a ton. I can’t believe how little young people seem to know about old music and movies which for my generation was our lifeblood.
David Reynolds that’s because you had to listen to what your parents were playing. iPods were just coming out but you weren’t aloud to touch dad’s radio!
She showed respect for the integrity of a great classic performance by listening from start to finish before giving her thoughts. I am now a subscriber!
Bill Medley, who sang first, is still around and still performs some with his daughter. Bobby Hatfield, the high voice, unfortunately, passed away in 2003. He was a distant cousin of my Mom!
In an interview with Bill Medley he said that they both wanted to be the one to perform "Unchained Melody" so they flipped a coin and bobby won the toss. Bill said, "After hearing Bobby perform it, I'm glad I lost the toss."
That's the best compliment you can get from your partner. No battle of egos.
I love how he just sits back all chill until it's time for him to sing
Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley had such amazing voices
I absolutely love when these younger people discover the music we grew up with. If you like this check out Bobby Darin or the Everly Brothers.
me too. There is still hope!
It's great to see youngins appreciate the classics!
Bill and Bobby were 'vocal soulmates' - pure perfection!!!
I love how these can harmonize while being two octaves off from each other. Amazing teamwork.
This is what real love music is that pulls the heart strings.
Glad to see young people like you listen and appreciate it. You have a wonderful old soul.
You are a woman of few words, but your facial and arm and hand expressions, says it all. That smile is the cherry on top.
The best duo that ever lived in my opinion.
so now you know what your parents and grandparents mean when they say "they don't make songs like we use to".... no digital aids... no lip sync.... this was live TV.... just simply, raw talent... now this is the way to melt a woman's heart through music and poetry..... without calling them "hoes" or "bitches"......young lady, and to all ladies out there in inter-world, when you find a guy that would sing or say this to you and mean it(and be very sure that he means it)?... go for it.....chances are you won't regret it...... and to the guys....watch and learn ..... peace
One of the best selling records of all time right there.
Two such different voices and singen in perfect harmony. Allways loved these guys.
Thank you so much for mentioning that this was performed way before autotune and pro tools software! This was back when bands knew how to play instruments and sing!
True fact that I have read in multiple media stories - This song was the most played song on the radio in the 20th century.
A new generation to appreciate The Brothers...I LOVE that smile while you're listening. It seems like so much of contemporary music gives listeners angry, hate-filled faces. You have won this 67 year old's heart, sweetie. BAM! New Subscriber, thumbs up.
Indeed! I agree. I just asked her to check out Dimash song "Yoiur love". Hopefully more peace in the world can help.
Love watching you kids appreciate good music! These two were Heartbreakers! Still melt when you hear them sing!
What a fun reaction to watch. Yes, we had great singers back in the day, too.
Shiloh, those were the times when men wrote songs to tell their ladies how they felt about them without calling them ugly names like todays songs.
People still do that, clown.
@@jacksavage2205 If they still do, they are not getting their messages across!
@@loneranger668 Your small experience is a poor substitute for reality. You're basically looking at a sentence pretending you know the entire library. You know closer to nothing than you do everything about music of today or yesterday.
@@jacksavage2205 Well Mr. Savage I learned awhile back that it is fruitless to discuss any topic with an individual that considers themselves a legend in their own minds. So, I will leave you to ponder your great solution to whatever you may consider the problem to be in any era of music.
@@loneranger668 that's absurd and irrelevant; probably projection on your part. Point is: You are painting with a broad brush.
they then adopted the name "The Righteous Brothers" for the duo because black Marines from the El Toro Marine base started calling them "righteous brothers".[10] At the end of a performance, a black U.S. Marine in the audience would shout, "That was righteous, brothers!", and would greet them with "Hey righteous brothers, how you doin'?" on meeting them
I listen to a lot of music reactors. I don't know what your technical training is if any. But I think it's interesting that you notice a lot of the same things they do. And where you edge a lot of them out is in how you show your emotional response to the music. You also select great songs to react to. Then add in your charming personality and I have a new favorite reactor. Keep up the great work!
And she's so damn cute also
Michael you're right! Shiloh and another reactor called "TooSushi" are the best. Sushi couldn't speak...at all..when she heard this!
@@tctoguy empress jean joy is great...and somehow even prettier imho
Thank you for listening to the music from my youth and childhood! I love your reaction to this older music. Yes, the musicians back then relied more on raw talent and classical training than on technology. Keep up the good work young lady, you are making a difference in today's sad world.
Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield were real talents. Everyone should listen to some of their classic hits - amazing vocals!! Thank you for the great reaction!
Thanks for watching !
Fun Fact - Cher was in the backing choir.
wow didn´t know that...
I just relived this reaction again. So good 👍 thanks again my best. Hugs old dad 2🥰🥰🥰🥳🥳
Her reaction is just perfect.
When this song was released I had just started my freshman year of high school. I was SO lucky. With a brother almost 9 yrs older, I grew up with early Rock & Roll, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, the English Invasion, and fantastic music front the Righteous Brothers. I also grew up in Orange County where they were from, although they were closer to my brother’s age. Got to see them perform at Knott’s Berry Farm which was only a few miles North of where we lived. GREAT times.
Best song everrrrrrr. Love Bill Medley's deep voice at the begining, sighhhhhh. And when they sing together? just brilliant.
Righteous Brothers- IT IS SAID, RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS are RESPONSIBLE for large increase in POPULATION!!!!!! WoooooHoooooo! Most played song ever 🤔 🤟🏼✌🏼🔥
Omgsh you've got the cutest smile! If nothing else this has got to be the cutest reaction I've ever seen.
it is very rewarding to watch these young people discover what we listened to as teens and absolutely love it just as we did 50 years ago.
The next Righteous Brothers song has to be Soul and Inspiration; it was actually written by the same writers as this song and they wrote it as a follow-up to the success of this song. Soul and Inspiration peaked at #1 in the US for three straight weeks in 1966 - pure gold.
When it's good music like this it's timesless it seems to last in your heart forever when it has meaning like it used to it makes it so much better I believe
And remember, there were no computers yet. It was all pure talent. Like you said... no editing, no auto-tune. I love listening to the "old time" music when it was pure talent. It didn't matter if you were "socially beautiful" you just had to have talent. Then throughout the 70s up to the early 2000s looks were more inportant in the music industry because they could digitally tune you to a better voice, even live on stage. Now with all of the singing and talent competition shows the base talent of singing is becoming more important again. Although, even there it seems like many judges are looking at appearences unless the talent is superstar quality from the first audition.
Thanks for "bringing back that 'Loving Feeling'". Great song to review. It still gets me in the feels, even as a 50 year old man (well in about three weeks I'll be 50). Love your reaction. Keep up the broad spectrum of musical reviews. It keeps the channel interesting. Love ya, and see ya next time.
I agree!! Would you please watch this video of Fourth Impact singing Natalie Cole's late 1970's R&B hit, Our Love, and let me know what you think?? It was done in their home during quarantine. No studio no professional equipment basically just the backing track and four wireless microphones!!! I would love your opinion!!!!

No software, but this absolutely was radically affected by Phil Spectre's Wall of Sound mixing.
great to see people now days who can really appreciate great music
You're smarter than most everyone else I've seen reacting and very articulate. You're enthusiasm rocks too.
And so so so easy on the eyes.
Live TV, no post, no sugaring, no auto-tune, just talent.
Her look when she saw two silhouettes: "This is getting out of control. Now there are TWO OF THEM!"
One of the greatest songs ever written so powerful his voice is beautiful
Before Cell phones, Computers and video games....its amazing their voices are so different one high and one low
The baritone is Bill Medley, the tenor is the late Bobby Hatfield. They were playing at a club near a marine base in California, when a bunch of black marines yelled You Brothers are Righteous. The name stuck.
Your reaction was pure gold Shiloh,; you showed a true first-time reaction to this iconic song and their incredible soulful singing.
They started their career together outside of an airbase in a black club and they blew them away, they said they were blue-eyed soul singers and named them the 'Righteous brothers' which eventually stuck.
I love watching your facial reactions to their music. Precious. They were performing here in the South at a predominantly black club when a spectator cried out “That’s Righteous, Brother”
And so that became their name. Generational talent!
my soul and inspiration is a good one
Your reactions to this song is wow. You are amazing too..
They were a great duo, and each did solos. I am partial to Bobby Hatfield and he has many beautiful songs that will thrill you. Only You, Ebb Tide, and Somewhere are my favorites. All on You Tube so you can find them easily--hope to see your reactions to these beautiful songs. Cathy
Growing up in NYC we used to listen to blue-eyed soul, The Righteous Brothers. They were smokin'
Today’s music can’t compete with this eras talent. Like you said l, no auto tune or editing software. Great video, loved your reaction. Thank you very much.
I love your reactions to my favorite songs . Your smile can light up the entire world . Kudos to you for sharing these with us . We are blessed
Timeless song by Barry Mann and Cynthia Wiel with class Phil Spector production. Thanks to The Blossoms and Cher for the vocals. And the unforgettable Carol Kaye on bass and the rest of the Wrecking Crew. When music was genuine, real, and unforgettable.
Love it, love you !! The most played song of the Twentith Century !!
So hard to conceive of the idea that people haven't heard the Righteous Brothers. I sometimes for get I'm old. :)
I just love these blue eyed soul singers! I loved your reaction to them!
You should listen to Johnny Rivers Poor Side OF Town. It will blow you away.
Harmony Perfection, no autotune, no $3000 filter microphones, nothing, just talent.
I’m 134 years old and this is what I grew up listening to.
🤣
I lost.
Carry on making oneself look like a pratt
Can you still hear at that age✌️
@@jackwells1452 what?
Good music always hits you in the soul, on a cellular level. These musicians give a part of themselves for their fans. No electronics at all!
They are not actually brothers its Bobby hatfield and bill medly
True. It was when someone had heard them sing, their comment was "you are some Righteous Brothers", and they chose that as the duet's name.
Their black band mates used to call them that. They took it as their name.
@@briancox5530 they weren't bandmates who called them that...they were originally called The Paramours, and at many of their earlier gigs,a group of black marines would often attend, and at the end of one show, one marine stood up and shouted " that was righteous, brothers" hence the legend was born, and it wasn't long before Medley and Hatfield changed their name to The Righteous Brothers.
@@robhaunui3343 Correct!
Yep... they were aliens.
I love watching these songs.
I remember watching my Mom and Dad dancing to this song and they even use to dance in the grocery stores when this song would come on in the stores. People use to watch thrm dance til it was done.
I miss them so much.
Dad passed in 2007 and Mom in 2014...
The next righteous song should be soul and inspiration
Since your'e willing to go vintage, you should check out Simon and Garfunkel bridge over troubled water you'll like it. I think studio is better than live.
Soul and Inspiration
* smile * I didn't film _my_ first reaction to this song, nor was a mirror nearby so I don't know for sure - but _my_ face _felt_ the way yours _looked!_ :-)
Soul & Inspiration and For Once In My Life will knock your socks off!
That look you gave when the song was finished had me laughing 🤣🤣
They were not actual brothers by birth; they got that name from a group of Black Navy sailors who would go see them while in L.A.; and said, “ You guys are two righteous brothers”. Truer words seldom spoken.
Ebb Tide by them is incredible. You will be swooning by the end. Guarantee it Shiloh 👍🌛
How simple but deep are those lyrics. Amazing, thanks!!
Just Once In My Life, Ebb Tide, He, On This Side of Goodbye, Dream On, Love Wins All
This song was played in the 20th century more than any other song in TV or Radio, even as a song from The Beatles.
Beautiful reaction, would you do a comparison to Elvis version of you lost that love and feeling from his 1970 performance in Vegas live. I'd love your opinion
This is the sound we loved, Motown, all 50s 60s sounds. Nothing compares to the beautiful love songs. Love the reaction of the young people ❤
“I just wanna make love to you” is another good one !

I give that one 4 That’s HOTs!
@@CopperJenny yeah,...That song is deep..its pull you in with so much heart and SOUL!
So much more to check out! Never walk alone, is an awesome Righteous Brothers song. Bring it on home to me is one of my favourites.
You should do one of Bill Medley singing with Jennifer Warnes "The Time Of My Life." Uplifting music.
Grew up listening to these fellows. Take me back in time. Good is good. Mom loved them.
They aren't actually brothers just good friends that made magic
Oh Child, this is why we (old folks) chose our music so cardfully.
Back in the day when they didn't have all electronics to bring out a person voice. What you hear is what you get that is as natural a sound as it gets.
Soul and Inspiration. Listen to that one.
Next listen to them doing "(You're My) Soul And Inspiration". Bill Medley is still alive and singing at the ripe young age of 80. He and the late Bobby Hatfield were not related.
Amazing song!!
I wonder how many heard this from Top Gun...
I tried to use it in a bar ...... didnt work!
