I came back to this video to thank you. I moved to the bay area recently and found your videos randomly (thank you algorithms!). Before I found your videos, I ordered a ton of food based on the recommendations delivery apps push and couldn't understand the hype of food in SF. But then I tried Dumpling Home since you recommended it so highly. Those were LIFE CHANGING SOUP DUMPLINGS. Thank you SO SO MUCH. That's the best meal I've had in so long.

To be honest, I don't think I've ever even heard about Xiao Long Bao before this video, but you made me crave it so much that I had to chase it down. I ordered some from Dumpling Home, and wow! mind blown! they are so delicious 😋 I had both the traditional Pork one and the Numb and spicy one, and they were great. Thanks for introducing me to those! I'll definitely be going to try some of the other spots you recommended.

Love the video. For fact checking, not all xiao long bao are supposed to have soup inside. The ones with soup are called 灌汤包, and special ingredients are added to the skin to make them stretchy. But I don’t
think ppl don’t differentiating them in the US, at least not on the menu.

Oh my gosh yum! I lived in SF for a few years and the absolute BEST spot has to be Kingdom of Dumpling in the Sunset! I may be biased because I lived pretty close but to this day it's the best dumplings (specifically soup dumplings!) I've ever had!

If you ever go to LA you should try Kang Kang Food Court Shen Jiang Bao’s!! They have 4 locations, it’s not the best looking restaurant, but the food is really really good!

You should do a 2 tastings, one is the original pork XLB and the other can be something unique that the restaurant offers. That way, the judging can be fair across them all.
Hey I have a question/ challenge for you? Go to a fro yo place and try their boba and see if you can recreate it? I bet its not the same. Cus of the juice inside!

I am from Shanghai. Dumpling Home is the most authentic XLB I've tried in SF, hands down. In South Bay, I-Shanghai Delight in Fremont has the best XLB and Shanghainese snacks in general.
