Growing up, I didn’t realize that I was tomboyish until one day when I returned home while dribbling the basketball. As soon as I entered the drawing room my dad who was observing me from a distance very lightheartedly said, “Beta, why were you walking like Hanuman?” I laughed it off then but then had to work on my lady like skills, afterwards. I didn’t realize but it had hit me subconsciously.
We all go through such experiences in life but don’t mull over it and hurt yourself by constantly reminding yourself about that. Mr. Johar, if I am given an option to choose between a six-packed Greek God OR You, I would choose you any day! ❤️🥂

As a 90s kid, I want to thank Karan for giving us classics back then which we will cherish forever.
Over the years, i have also grown to hating homosexuality to accepting every human-being as equal.
That's what Karan has earned, though I hate it sometimes that his films never given any major roles to the poorer section of the society but that was early 2000s so, I hope in the years to come, every citizen of every strata gets his due in his films which can reach every audience.
In all, thanks for your service to art.

There was a time, when, like many others who are quick to judge people, I used to think of Karan Johar as someone who makes unrealistic films for rich people. I, for one, grew up in the 80's and 90's consuming films which constantly, as a matter of strategy, drilled the message into my head that rich people are - without an exception - bad people. If you are a mill-owner, you are a bad person, and the mazdoor in your mill is the hero. If you are a rich dad, you are a bad person, because you are constantly trying to lock your daughter up in a room so she cannot meet this poor unemployed boy she happened to fall in love with. Rich = Bad. That was the message I grew up with. Karan Johar = Bad. Anurag Kashyap = Good. Till one day, it struck me that both these filmmakers had the exact same filmmaking strategy, albeit in different segments of the spectrum. Both were empowering other people to go and make their own films. Both were telling stories that mattered to them. Both were making the films they wanted to. And in the EXACT same language and voice and style. It's just that this style, this voice was one that fitted their respective films. I think, at the end of the day, one should just go ahead and do what makes one happy, as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. That's all there is to it, really. Otherwise one day, you wake up and realize, damn, life just passed me by, and I spent it conforming to other people's expectations. This was a good interview, and more than anything else, I personally was happy to see that both these wonderful people, Karan and Faye, in their own ways, and despite the respective and unique struggles that they have been through, are doing what they want, what makes them happy, and that they will sleep well at night. Nothing - absolutely NOTHING - is more important than that.

Why does he owe it to the world to declare his orientation? Do people expect straight people to go around declaring their orientations? Do straight people give interviews declaring they are straight? No they don't. So this burden shouldn't apply the other way as well. This is a ludicrous demand being implemented by a heteronormative society. This expectation then only further burdens teenagers who struggle with their sexuality.

@@avyangnag3892 Arre bhaiya, yeh uski private life hai. Public usko uske filmo ke baare me puch sakti hai, nepotism ke baare me puch sakti hai, lekin uski sexuality hamari problem nahi hai. Maine uski kitaab padi hai aur tab India me gayism banned tha. Toh usne tab se kuch nahi bola hai.

Why is this interview so therapeutic that it brings a sense of happiness from deep inside the abyss?

When he talks about how he loves his school reunions, because he's aged better than most. "May be it's because I'm not married, may be that's what it is"😅😂

    Hi faye
Always in awe of ur honesty not just in journalism but in everything that u do !!!
And yess this podcast was such a breather !!
Karan said it just right - it felt like therapy !
The fact that u decided to go make up free and that there were no props & pretty things around,
brought the limelight & focus on just u and Karan ...
The black cloth on table and the black screen behind , really did wonders !
Really glad to see Karan on a show like this with absolutely no 'bling' around !!!
Plz keep doing more such podcasts !
It was extremely heartening to hear Karan acknowledge the fact that Bollywood is undergoing a creative crisis !!!
Eagerly waiting to see many more fresh faces of actors and actresses from non-filmy backgrounds under his banner !!
Kudos to Karan for opening up and just articulating his journey with such grace & grit !!!
U guys made my day !

Main jab bhi aap ko dekhta hoon mujhe Rab dikhta hai. Rab ke samne matha tekta hoon toh dil ko sukoon milta hai. Aap ko hanste hue dekhta hoon toh dil ko aur bhi sukoon milta hai.🎆🎵🎶
