If they were smart they'd make a *small* truck. NO competition at all, even the Maverik isn't really small. Make a truck and a van on the same platform or make a version easily customized like the early 4 Runner with the removable (i.e. exchangeable for aftermarket) roof and the cabin common with cargo. That would make a great camping setup that can get into tight places.
Keep it up Kia. This might not be what everyone wants but I see you are trying to get into the offroad sector and it's going to be a tough one but it is nice to see the effort and diversity of the company.

It would be great product placement to make a deal with them to have this and future all terrain vehicles in their games. I'm eagerly waiting the release of the Kia Ute and I'm hoping the colourful camouflage also includes lots of fake body panels so none of the other car makers steal your usual fantastic body styles because I hate to say it but the front end and wheel arch treatment is particularly hideous IMO. Some of the renderings we've seen on the good 'ol internet have actually looked fantastic.

You have to hope the headlights are not actually there on the outer corners. They won’t last long on a Cape York Queensland trip. One tap on an obstacle and there’s a thousand dollars damage to a headlight. Also why is this not being tested the same way in Australia where it’s going to be released. Will this be a V8 like the dubbed audio depicts? I see this tanking in Australia because it won’t match what D-Max, Hilux, Patrol, Landcruiser or Navara can do off road. Give one to 4WD-24/7 to test. I reckon it will get 1km.

Too bad it doesn't come with a nice big straight 6 or V6 Diesel. Looks good otherwise. Sadly for now the only big Diesels are the V6 Ranger and the BMW straight 6 Ineos grenadier.

That would look horrendous if that was a paint option. Kia don’t currently make any good 4wds. Unlikely to be any good. Just another duel cab Ute.
