So many people seem to love the idea of small go anywhere 4x4 vans, but there's never anything available in the North American market. Vehicle manufacturers just keep building the same pickup trucks and SUVs instead.
Yeah, I feel like this is partially from myths about there being no "market" for smaller, sensible utility vehicles in the US, and probably the ossified industry here doesn't want this kind of thing because then they'd have to compete. They like selling their giant, idiotic trucks and SUVs.

The wall racking to switch from work to other usages (like camping) is a great add. +Tent and solar. Front passenger seat that swivels around etc. 3 sizes of this concept would work well. -This one here the small or medium size.
I can see a lower, longer version that would make a great camper van. The style is excellent. But I think those front and rear LED WKNDR panels would be hammered by debris on rods and trails. Yes, great camper. VI and Citroen, who both do Campervans, will watch with interest.
FINALLY! Loses the freak’n stupid front center console. Gives me access/control of ALL the cabin/vehicle features and benefits. KIA is rock’n this industry.
And with self-leveling “Camp Mode” standard. The only Thing left for KIA to 💯slay this industry is to come up with a way to power their amazing electric motors WITHOUT kw/hr limited batteries. Just imagine… Think submarines…🤔
@nigelsenchez Toy hauler with your toy. How much weight you plan to “haul” with it? Realistically asking. EV’s are not practical for long road trips unless you don’t mind stopping every 270km or 30% power spent. Charging costs as much or more then gasoline and a lot of the times the charge stations are out of service. There is no way you could camp a night when below freezing temperatures. Cool looking van yea. However. It should be available in gas or diesel option not just EV.

Modularity concept, offroad short van, purposeful design.....and robust looks. I loved it. The kind of car I would definetly consider changing my little beast for. Congrats on the concept, there is more and more market in that short camper offroad van segment.
Certainly no competition in this segment that appears to be created of whole cloth this century. Is there market share and can the price come in low enough to build a following. This is the real lift and feature consumers will want to see. 4:50
@AppearDispairDisappear-xi1gt what alternate energy needs is not high tech expressions of state-of-the-art, what it does need is affordable, utilitarian transport for the masses. That's how things progress.
This is an awesome concept tbh. I think it would suit being a PHEV rather than full EV. Gives you a lot more freedom when going off grid. It would be awesome having V2L to power your campsite
I've just had the engine in my 2008 BL Sorento rebuilt after 480,000km. The most under-rated 4x4 SUV ever made, if you ask me. Until now, it's bothered me that Kia never kept going after such a strong start in the 4x4 market. This looks like it has far superior approach and departure angles to the BL, I just hope it will be part time 4WD with a proper low range selector, and there's enough built that's they're still around ten years after they release so I can buy a used one on a disability pension. Something to look forward to at least. Do it KIA, make another excellent medium duty offroad vehicle. I could never afford a new one but I'd love to get one, one day.
That external kitchenette is genius. Don’t want the inside space smelling like bacon and garlic 24/7. Please try to keep the customizable table and lounge chair setup. Will pay extra for guaranteed comfort in lounge mode. Utility rack stays ofc. Wench and branch protection is great if it works. Love how it looks like you could hose the inside when needed. Keep that ease of washability. Security cam options with motion detection and mounts of satellite options would be nice extra features
KIA, please build a PV5 version of this with the Extended Range EV option with 500+mile range. Will be the ultimate car camping setup with utility/camp mode!🎉🎉
Really nice concept. I've never owned a KIA, but would seriously consider purchasing this vehicle if they integrate a few things. First, it would be nice to have a towing capacity of at least 5000 lbs., so I could trailer a boat. Secondly allow the ability to add modular rear passenger seating, bedding, and/or furniture. This way I could configure the car to fit the planned trip. Don't know if all that is possible, but it would be great!
If produced cost effectively! ?? could be as big as the VW buses!! for the masses... upgradeable... F... amazing! from a thrifyy 55 year old camper traveler since the 90's. with many cool vehicle ownership's, with DIY mods .... Cheers! Ric MN/USA
Cool, with EV9 Advenr can you do this model for Tasman ute? I use my ute for farm work, on weekends i go to football with icebox n bench sit to watch football. In off season i go camping n motorbike riding, able get some of these accessories then when not in use like my garden, work tools store all wall side.
