I really thought they would end this episode with Bo and Din walking toward the waters - so glad they added the last 5 mins. The difference between a good episode and a great episode
Only funny thing I wish happen is when Mando says to Grogu to go to Bo Katan is that Grogu takes off with that whistle sound like old Hanna Barbara Yogu Bear cartoons
Hey Kristian Harloff, if you could do a live Sith Council that would be my wish for this channel. I know that your starting to do live shows by yourself more. We need y’all live. Great channel, great show, great host. Thank always for showing some class!
Jo Jo Rabbit, the Oscar winner for best screenplay was 100% Taika! The idea that him having free reign (which isn’t necessarily the case for SW) automatically spells disaster is a bit hyperbolic. Its 1 film that a lot of people didn’t like. If it was a series of bad films maybe, but it’s one critical not financial loss and I doubt Taika has not taken in the criticism he got. Also I am with Steph rewatching Love & Thunder I still dig it, even though I get why others don’t.
35:28 Mikes questions about the city are valid I like him have never been able to catch up on the immense amount of Clone Wars and then Rebels episodes
What's with the surprise about Peli's missing tooth? Peli lost a tooth in the last episode of TBOBF during the fight on Tatooine when her taxi got shelled and she flew through the air, landed on her face, and spit out a tooth before she got up.
Really Enjoyed the Bad Batch Episode. How Clones are just treated like used equipment and no longer useful. Cross hair is finally seeing what the Empire is really like. Now I feel like they will use Crosshair to get the bad batch to come try and save him, so they can get Omega, to use her to get Nala Sey to work on the cloning experiments that Palpatine wants done. The Mandalorian was Awesome, loved Epsiode 2. Sooo Good. Grogu kicking but and getting help. Seeing Mandalor in ruins. Bo's point of view on things. there at the end, at first I thought Mando was pulled down by something, but them realized as he was walking into the water he took some of his stuff off, his jet pack, his weapons, the thing around his neck that I think seals his helmet. All he had was his boots and armor, which is heavy and he sank like a rock. keep up great work. Love your show.
Thank you all for a great show. One thing I miss now is seeing the shelves in the studio with all of Kristian's knickknacks, MTS memorabilia, Blu-Ray collection (and that Jabba figure, ha ha!). I'm sure that the drapes are there for a good reason and they improve the production quality, but seeing the shelves gave the shows a nice homespun charm which added to the experience somehow. Still love the show though!
37:32 😂😂😂😂😂 one of my fave moments ever on this channel, because I could honestly see Mike and Harloff's impression coming out the mouth of almost any star wars villain lmao perfect 👌
In re: to the conflict. The key line in this episode was "Bo Katan was right". That's opening up Din's whole ideology to maybe The Watch is wrong. He will try to unite the two factions just like a classic 'Invader Trope' E.G. Pocohantus, Buffy, Avatar (in a way)
Surprised only Steph loved the ep this actually was some of the best Star Wars we’ve gotten lol. Tying in the clone wars mandalore arc has made this the most exciting storyline since that era. Bo Katan is one of the best SW characters ever!
I love star wars so I'm watching both. We all knew crosshair was going to "turn good" but this was an amazing way to start him on that path. #InFeloniWeTrust
51:07 he sunk because he’s wearing Baskar which is Iron and iron sinks in water. If it’s properly created it can disperse the water in order to float but he’s not a boat.
I'm enjoying the season so far. Bo Katan was great in this episode. I really enjoyed seeing her destroy using the dark saber. I'm all about the lore. Give me more about the Mandalorians, Jedi, and Sith.
Mike is like Din seeing Mandalore for the first time, while Kristian and Steph are like Bo seeing what it has become after having seen it in its glory days.
Excellent Mandalorian episode, definitely need episodes to be at least 40 mins. I've not seen Land of the Lost but the cave creatures reminded me of Morlocks, underground creatures in the 1960s The Time Machine.
I wasn’t crazy about the “premiere” because chronologically it’s a mess. Until someone mentioned Mando had an appearance in Boba Fett I didn’t bother watching. That being said this was an improvement from last week. Bo Katan is the best part of the episode for me as a Clone Wars fan especially. I thought Din was kind of a dope for going into the Magic Pool from the Lion King while wearing all that armor not that he’d take it off but like there’s no gravity in water thus the only direction is *drumroll* down lol. I was also impressed with Grogu and his role in the episode. I’m kind of nervous where this season is going structure wise but other than that I’m definitely more intrigued to tune in going forward and review the episodes on my channel.
Love Bo Katans involvement, I agree that this is building towards Both the Zealots and Other Mandalorians coming together to rebuild. I would say that the dialog is a bit disjointed so far, but the shots and the story is awesome. Writing of dialog is noticeably simpler than what Andor was, before Andor I didn't notice it as much.
I remember that comic about R5, it was in the anthology series Star Wars Tales. It was silly and I never considered it Canon, but I enjoyed those side stories and it gave us a wide variety of stories from the Expanded Universe.
The surface of Mandalore is a desolate barren wasteland due to generations of war by the ancient Mandalorians. All those that live there now live in "mega cities." with black domed coverings to shield from the harsh environment and Sunlight. These hug cities are built down into the grown like the mines of Moria in Tolkein's books. That is why the city is so huge, and so deep.
I actually liked ep.1 of Mando more than ep. 2. Episode 2 was really good mythology-wise but ep. 1 was just a fun adventure and I loved it. I was smiling the entire episode.
The post credit scene for BoBF was released at the end of Chapter 16. Chapter 17 picks up on the timeline after BoBF. It was not in your face obvious that BoBF was joined at the hip to The Mandalorian. Many Star Wars fans did not seem to make that connection.
Something I immediately noticed that was different about season 3 is the score. Compared to regular John Williams's Star Wars compositions, Ludwig's style is extremely experimental, with unconventional instruments, almost offbeat, and it really stood on its own and had its own identity. This season sounds like it brings the whole thing back to more traditional orchestral Star Wars vibe. While it sounds great (it kinda sounds like it's building up on Ludwig's themes and bringing it back somewhere in the middle between Ludwig's uniqueness and a more classic Star Wars vibe), I'm not entirely sold on it. To me, and I'm sure to a lot of other people on the planet, Ludwig's score really cemented Mandalorian as a unique identity within the Star Wars universe. I'd argue that, like a lot of great movie scores, his music is 50% of the success and instant recognizability of the series. It would seem that Joseph Shirley, already the one who composed the score for Boba Fett and apparently also replaced Ludwig on Creed 3, looks like a successor (or Padawan turned Jedi) of sort of Ludwig Goransson. Now what happened with Ludwig ? I don't know. Maybe after playing in Hollywood's big playground, in both Marvel (Black Panther) and Star Wars, maybe he's over it and wanted to pursue some more personal projects.
I asked myself the same thing about Din not taking off his helmet while he's an apostate. Actor availability aside, I think there's a reasonable in-universe explanation. He's lived most of his life never taking it off around others and likely isn't comfortable with it. And since he intends to rejoin that creed soon, he likely doesn't want to show his face to others in the meantime.
Honestly, I figured Mando sinking like that was because the destruction of Mandalore has messed up the mines. It looked like he was expecting to take the next step down, not the next step into the abyss - and that could be why Bo and Din actually see the Mythosaur - it might have been hidden before, but this new structure/sinkhole that's opened up has exposed it.
Okay so at 11:00 yes I am watching Bad Batch. Can I add that it was awesome to have an hour of Star Wars with 2 great episodes of their respective shows. I am really enjoying the evolution of Crosshair. I love his hesitation towards Mayday but then opens up and answers questions like how he was part of Clone Force 99. Also that he says how they are gone but he escaped with them at the end of season 1. But then Mayday also saves his life, stopping the mine etc. So good. Then Chapter 18 of The Mandalorian. Kristian you've said it many times, love it or hate it, Star Wars is on TV and that's awesome. It just made it more Awesome that both shows had great episodes this week.
16:10 Guys, Pelli lost her tooth in the finale of Book of Boba Fett during the battle in Mos Espaa. Amy thought it would be funny if, after the rickshaw crashes, she spit out a tooth while she is lying in the road, and they loved the idea, so they let her pull that gag. Check at the 35minute mark. (35.40 to be be precise.)
I just wanted to note, that description for the opening panel at Celebration, and I am going by memory here - It was practically word for word the description for the opening panel at last year's Celebration, and as you might recall there were no Movie Announcements and nothing on The Acolyte (I didn't think they needed to do anything last year, they should this year, particularly since the next Celebration in 2025). I think they will announce 1 movie, and I can't see them not at least talking about Skelton Crew, but I won't be surprised if they don't talk about the Acolyte.
He was totally pulled in by the Mythasaur, Bo dove in after him seconds after he disappeared and had to use her jet pack to get to him fast as he was already laying on the lake floor.
35:20, Mike! Here's what I think: They're in what remains of the Duchy of Mandalore's capital city of Sundari, right? This was a Star Wars style big city//important place. In the Star Wars stories, we have crap tons of instances of "important places" that have towers that rise thousands of feet into the sky while at the same time, they have what looks like bottomless shafts where young Jedi can chop a Sith Lord in half and watch the pieces of him fall and fall and fall. So.... What you're seeing here is the part of Sundari that was underground when the Empire bombed the living shit out of the place. Topside, Sundari is nothing but a big ole pile of rocks and glassed pools of glassy glass. Beneath, it's a seriously damaged and decays "tomb" as Bo Katan referred to it. :)
Mike is 100% right. The Boba Fett episodes should have been the first episode of season 3. I said it during the Boba Fett series, that felt like the beginning of season 3. Season 3 actual episode 1 felt like a filler. For the people that didnt watch Boba, they have no idea how Grogu is just back with Mando based on episode 1. These episodes are just too short. Episode 1 was way too short on top of the fact it felt like filler. Episode 2 was longer but ended right at the high point for me. It felt like old school TV, ends on a cliffhanger, that is just frustrating in the streaming age.
I really enjoy the Bad Batch! It´s getting better and better each week. And I also enjoy the Mandalorian! This week both episodes (Bad Batch and Mandalorian) were so so so good!
Where was Din gonna stash IG-11 on his Starfighter? The N1 has a droid port for astromechs, but not a 7 ft tall droid. Din traded out his minivan for a coupe. He had his mid-life crisis. Also, am I the only one who got Geonosian vibes from the cybernetic creature that captures Din? Had the same body shape, posture, number of limbs? Carried the staff? It even made similar sounds to Geonosian speech; the clicking. Got Gn. Grevious vibes as well. My headcannon is that Palpatine experimented on the Geonosians before he created Grevious.
Din killed a mudhorn (with help from Grogu) to get the egg for the jawas, and the Armorer made the mudhorn the sigil of Din's clan, which is just Din and Grogu.
I think the whole reason they did the reunion of Din / Grogu in Bobba is to stress test the "new and improved" Luke - Whether or not it works (I think it did) may significantly inform the over arching story going forward - ie the extent to which live action Luke may be part of the story. What happens in Mando 3 may even be influenced by whether or not CGI Luke can hang. They had to find out sooner rather than later, Bobba story being the casualty. I'm sure someone has made this point.
51:40 Kristian tells it like it's part of the story ".....and then it ends with her just kinda looking off to it, and then, Rachel Morrison obviously gets the credit for it..." Never change, Kristian 😀
I don't think we've seen the last of Tatooine. Greef Karga wanted Din to be his marshal, but Din didn't want the job. So maybe Cobb Vanth will become this marshal after Boba's bacta tank heals him.
Great show today always good to see the full crew back! i think Ahsoka panel will be really good and we will hopefully get a lot more info on skeleton crew and Acolyte as well. This episode of Mando was great and I am excited to see where it goes!
Great show as always! I did not really feel the week to week with bad batch. Got about half way through the season, and decided to watch it all at once, when the show is finished. The clone episodes were really cool, but for me.....the (week to week) story telling in Bad Batch was a snooze fest. Hoping a binge watch will be better as the season winds down! First two episodes of Mando have been FANTASTIC! Action, well timed humor. The creativity is off the charts. Looks so cinematic too. Only thing I could nit pick is the runtime on Mando. Agreed on combining episodes 1&2!
Ok i know everyone is saying its not grievous, and I agree it isn't likely him based on how we last saw him. But I'm like 99% sure they used the same exact sounds for him.
I love that Bo Katan has basically replaced Cara Dune! Kudos John Favreau! Well played! A 20 times better actress and character ! Turning lemons to lemonade!
Checkout the Jedi from The Force Unleashed Game named Kazdan Paratus, that creature reminded me of him albeit only because of the head shape and the limbs.
The mando city was inside a huge biodome as the surrounding area was unliveable. The dome came down in the empire bombing and created a ring of wreckage around the city. At least that is how it looked to me from before and after shots of the city.
24:57 Nite Owls is basically an elite group of female Mandalorian soldiers within Death Watch itself as a whole, with the group led by Bo-Katan herself during the Clone Wars era.
When watching Boba Fett, I thought Boba and Din were definitely going to trade ships. Boba seems to have settled down on Tatooine and lives in Jabba's Palace. Doesn't really need Slave-1 anymore but could use a small, sporty fighter ship while flexing his power on Tatooine. Din may or may not have left his bounty hunting days behind permanently but he has no fixed residence, a child to look after, is constantly bouncing from planet to planet meeting different people and making different allies. Seems like he could use something with a little more room for more passengers and something more comfortable for longer trips. He told Peli he had no room for R5. Well, where was he planning on putting IG-11 whom he was trying to fix?
Some programs on the Celebration Stage will be streamed to the Galaxy Stage and the Twin Suns Stage. (Not streamed online.) However, we all hope they do stream it online.
I love how bad batch kinda parallels in timeline with the mandalorian... BB is the fall of the Republic and rise of the empire, mandalorian is the fall of the empire and rise of the new republic...
I honestly think that Din and Bo must unite the clans. It would be a tragedy if Din hands over the dark saber because he does not want to rule, or Bo becomes evil and jelly over Din and they fight. I feel the sacrifice would be that to bring the clans together Bo has to come to terms with the fact that she must step aside for the betterment of bringing their people back together and help Din accept and rule. I think a great sacrifice for Din will be to remove his helm as a testament that he has found something greater than never taking it off again. Shows his commitment to change and to reunite their people. It would be so cool if all his clan made that commitment. This is the new way. Both sacrifice a lot then we could get some cheese where BO and Din start falling for each other and royal wedding anyone? Introduce a new villain that finds out the Mandalorian’s are reuniting and coming back to building their home world and the first order their enemy is like hell no we cannot let that happen. Or they struggle to get all the clans to unite before the first order comes back to finish what the Empire tried to do before and destroy Mandalor 2.0 before it can get off the ground and up and running. Something epic. Becomes a race to unite the clans before the bad guys show up to destroy them all again.
My personal theory is that the "Poisoned Mandalore" story was cooked up by the Imperial Remnant (I personally believe that Thrawn may have had a hand in this) to hide a massive beskar mining operation. How else did Gideon get his hands on an entire cantono of beskar to pay for Grogu's capture? Or how did the Magistrate (who we know was working for Thrawn) get a pure beskar spear? I think that the conflict of this season will overall be gathering the different sects of Mandalorians to unite and finally free their world.
Q&A for Kristian Harloff: Since The Mandalorian Season 3 had Din goes up against the Space Pirates, do you think this would set up Din Djarin meets up any of the two Space Pirates we knew like Hondo or Maz Kanata and Din had to team one of them up to defeat the Pirate King Gorian Shard?
It's my understanding the reason Ludwig Göransson isn't doing the score for season 3 is because he's working on the score for Oppenheimer, and he also did the score for Tenet too. So, you can blame Christopher Nolan, I guess, lol. Loved the discussion you guys had. I'm really curious what the next episode for The Mandalorian will reveal. As for Star Wars Celebration, I have no expectations aside from whatever they announce had better not get scrapped a year or two later. I just want to know that there will be good content coming in the future.

I really thought they would end this episode with Bo and Din walking toward the waters - so glad they added the last 5 mins. The difference between a good episode and a great episode
Best part of that music video is Chevy dropping his glass through the empty bingo stand and smashing it on the floor. Kills me 😂
Only funny thing I wish happen is when Mando says to Grogu to go to Bo Katan is that Grogu takes off with that whistle sound like old Hanna Barbara Yogu Bear cartoons
Hey Kristian Harloff, if you could do a live Sith Council that would be my wish for this channel. I know that your starting to do live shows by yourself more. We need y’all live. Great channel, great show, great host. Thank always for showing some class!
I get home and watch both with my son. Love them both!!!
Exactly lol
Evidently there are no dentists on Tattooine.
Great episode of SITH; love the in depth conversations with the full crew.
Road to 100k should start very soon and I’m here to support you every step of the way man. 👍
Ok I am now a huge Katee Sackhoff fan.
Also, I'm super excited for Taika's movie. I love him, his style and he's an underrated actor. sns :)
I think it will be cool too!
Sedaris’ character loses the tooth in Boba Fett when she brings Grogu back to Mando. Just did a rewatch over the weekend and noticed it.
I'm enjoying the season so far. Bo Katan was great in this episode. I really enjoyed seeing her destroy using the dark saber. I'm all about the lore. Give me more about the Mandalorians, Jedi, and Sith.
Even better, in the Paul Simon Call me Al video Chevy Chase does the lip syncing instead of Simon. Honestly one of my favorite performances of his
Mike is like Din seeing Mandalore for the first time, while Kristian and Steph are like Bo seeing what it has become after having seen it in its glory days.
Always love to watch the streams
Happy birthday Steph
Love having the 3 Amigos all together this week. 😁
52:23 when the teacher catches the kid on their phone in class
Yup
I actually liked ep.1 of Mando more than ep. 2. Episode 2 was really good mythology-wise but ep. 1 was just a fun adventure and I loved it. I was smiling the entire episode.
The post credit scene for BoBF was released at the end of Chapter 16. Chapter 17 picks up on the timeline after BoBF.
It was not in your face obvious that BoBF was joined at the hip to The Mandalorian. Many Star Wars fans did not seem to make that connection.
R5 or trashbot is always reluctant and not motivated because like Luke says to uncle Owen "this r2 unit has a bad motivator."
I forgot about The Bad Batch when the Mandalorian premiered. I remembered bc I saw the reaction videos pop up. Lol!
Luke wakes up from a Force induced fever dream in the opening sequence of Episode 7.
Kennedy-verse done.
57:07 everyone's heart dropped 😅
He was totally pulled in by the Mythasaur, Bo dove in after him seconds after he disappeared and had to use her jet pack to get to him fast as he was already laying on the lake floor.
Guys !! The tooth! She lost it in Book Of Boba when she fell out of the taxi cruiser thing. Btw I lov this show! Lovin the new season.
Everyone take a shot every time R5 gets called R4! Lol!!!
**Screaming at my computer screen** SHE LOST HER TOOTH IN THE BOBA FINALE, COME ON GUYS!!! Hahaha love you guys!
10:54 Love the Bad Batch. Some of the best Star Wars out there.
Great show! Mando is off to a strong start. Fingers crossed that we will get 45 minute episodes for the rest of the season.
For sure. they really should up the runtime to 45-60 mins. The runtime is really the only thing i can nit-pick on the show!
I bet you Taiki’s movie will be amazing. I think he took the criticism to heart.
If it's Star Wars I'm watching. And I love everything about the Bad Batch. Anything related to Clone Wars, I'm in.
51:40
Kristian tells it like it's part of the story ".....and then it ends with her just kinda looking off to it, and then, Rachel Morrison obviously gets the credit for it..."
Never change, Kristian 😀
LOL you made me spit out my coffee with the Land of the Lost sack stuff haha
Hahah thanks!
Turning lemons to lemonade!
i enjoy bad batch a lot I agree this year is even better than the last season a lot more emotional and powerful
Checkout the Jedi from The Force Unleashed Game named Kazdan Paratus, that creature reminded me of him albeit only because of the head shape and the limbs.
That cyborg was awesome. 🤘🏽
I never thought Bo would have a problem with Din, but I think sparks might fly if she comes face to face with the Armourer.
(Not streamed online.)
However, we all hope they do stream it online.
LMAO trash bot with the still of R5 was absolutely hilarious 😂
My personal theory is that the "Poisoned Mandalore" story was cooked up by the Imperial Remnant (I personally believe that Thrawn may have had a hand in this) to hide a massive beskar mining operation. How else did Gideon get his hands on an entire cantono of beskar to pay for Grogu's capture? Or how did the Magistrate (who we know was working for Thrawn) get a pure beskar spear? I think that the conflict of this season will overall be gathering the different sects of Mandalorians to unite and finally free their world.
I love the Naboo star fighter.
It's a bummer we won't be getting the Rogue Squadron movie. I was looking forward to that one. It could've been the Top Gun of this franchise.
Been waiting to hear this discussion, you guys are dope!
