Fruits Basket is not just a school anime. IT HAS HEARTBREAKING FANTASY!!! IT'S MY FAVORITE ANIME OF ALL TIME!!!! The story is about Tohru Honda. A kind, normal high school girl. She meets the Sohma family who have a curse that causes them to turn into animals when they hug the opposite sex. 😍💖🔥
Okey Im here to recommend a brand new singer for your channel. Şebnem Ferah. Turkish singer, songwriter, producer and vocalist. She has been around since 1987. She was in Volvox and Pentagram. She worked with Apocolyptia before Evanescence. She is doing alternate rock, hard rock, pop rock and heavy metal. Im gonna go straight away for song suggestions from 2007 İstanbul Live Concert. My personal favs are -Delgeç -Ben Şarkımı Söylerken -Can Kırıkları AND I am gonna comment at each video so you can see it and dont forget it😅
Fruits Basket is an emotional, character based drama. It tackles some very heavy subjects and almost every episode is a tearjerker. Heavily recommend you watch it at some point
AND the anime follow the manga, not jsut part of it. and that last season ending hit even harder at the last ep... god just earing those different intro etc make me cry again
I love Fruits Basket so much... I'm so glad to see your reaction to it. It was an emotional roller coaster with lots of tears, lots of laughter and wonderful wisdom. Absolute recommendation for everyone who wants to be taken on this journey.
Fruits Basket IS a romance anime, but it’s heartbreaking, heartwarming, inspirational, and so deep. It’s amazing. The romance is cute, but what really made me love this anime was the character development and life lessons. This anime made me want to be a better person. It’s so good
it’s the Ultimate emotional support anime- which is to say, there’s a Lot of emotions involved 😭 probably one of my most rewatched series’ ever, heartbreaking And heartwarming at the same time!! love it a ton, happy to see a reaction to the openings!! openings/endings aside It has one of my favourite anime osts ever too!! it’s beautiful :’)
Fruits Basket is an incredible show and I love that OPs dont spoil anything. It is not as chill and mellow as it seems ))) I really recommend to watch it
Fruits Basket is my favorite Anime of all time after Attack on Titan. Its such a great written story with amazing characters and its so painful and wholesome at the same time.
You should 100% go for the endings in a next reaction.. they are just as good as the openigns: total chill vibes. Btw, I just wanted to compliment your commentary in your reactions. I notice that they've been getting better and better and, honestly, sometimes you started just nailing the narrative of animes that you didn't even watched. Like that nice change in "Non anime fan" to "new anime fan" detail in the title and also, if it wasn't clear just now, your getting pretty sharp in the qualities of anime songs and ot's whereabouts while coming to their stories itself... I specially like the coments and guesses when your analyze the music itself, visuals and characters. You're doing great Luke 🎉 keep up with your wonderful work ❤
Fruits Basket is a series that can get very emotional and painful at times but personally I still would say it's more of an uplifting show than anything else, despite the darkness and sadness there's always light and uplifting messages and it's honestly helped me out in a lot of ways, the messages of the show are so beautiful and give you hope in life, it's such a beautiful masterpiece and touches my heart so much💕
Finally! Fruits Basket is my favourite romance anime. It depicts the dark concepts so easily, one of the reasons it's my favourite. Really was waiting for this reaction. Thanks a lot.
Fruits Basket breaks your heart and heals it again~ It's a slice-of-life romance anime with hints of school life, super natural and a tiny bit psychological (in a emotional sense). The manga is quite old, having come out from 1998 to 2006. There was already a anime adaption in 2001, that had 26 episodes (with one Opening and Ending). It never adapted the whole manga thou, seeing how the manga was still airing at the the time. Many years later it was decided that there would be a new anime adaptation, one that adapted the whole manga. And that's how we got 63 episodes in 3 seasons from 2019 to 2021 ^^
OH MY GOD FRUITS BASKET!!!!!!!! 😃 oooooooh my heart... I adore these characters so much!!! literally this was my first manga that I ever read, and I wanted to be like Tohru when I was younger... even though I spent way more time actually being like Kyo. I haven't even been able to bring myself to watch the new anime yet, because of how much of a sobbing wreck I would be, but I so so SO highly recommend it. Fruits Basket and Fullmetal Alchemist went hand in hand for me back in middle school... I read them in fairly quick succession, and tbh, I picked pure quality by total accident. at this point they're just like... idk... they're like home to me. like if a piece of media was an old friend you could never forget.
This anime is by far one of my most favourite anime’s ever! It’s an emotional rollercoaster and you get so attached to the characters. You definitely need to react to the fruits basket endings as well because in my opinion, they’re just as great! It would also be really great if u could do a reaction video to the full version of some of these songs, especially the first one and last one because those ones are the best so I would love to see ur reaction!
Omg Seeing someone reacting to fruits basket is just absolutely amazing! One of my top 3 animes !! It's just so special i love this soooooooo much, the feels it gives is
Fruits Basket is a story about trauma. It's very emotional and each character's own trauma is handled differently. It's incredibly powerful. I suspect the OP's are chill to help you be calm before you start.
The first opening, Again by Beverly is just so stunning and very heartfelt. She also happens to be a Filipina singer. She also sang one of the openings for Kamen Rider, Be the One for Kamen Rider Build.
This is one of my childhood anime, which came back on 2019. And this is such a great anime! It will give you all the emotions you can feel. I'm happy you reacted to this! The endings are as good as the openings, you won't regret it.
The Umbrella's in the second opening are a motif, if you read the lyrics to the sound part of it is talking about depressing times are passing by and the sun is coming out so you can throw your umbrella's (A Symbol of protection from burdens) away. Most non spoiler description of the plot is the Main girl changes the life of her close friends and a large and extended Rich Old Money Family with a secret and troubled past that effects their bloodline. For the record the series starts out fairly happy go lucky comically and slowly transitions to more drama.
We had to wait 18 yrs. to see all of the story. The original series stopped in 2001 and they redid it in 2019. The endings are good too with some spoilers but if you don't already know the story it won't matter too much
Omg fruits basket reaction! I'm so happy that you reacted to this one i really love it! And yes it does have drama and romance elements to it it really is good! I would like to recommend to watch the endings as well they so good themselves too if possible!
It took me a while to get into this anime, but once I watchet it I LOVED IT. It was nothing like I tought it would be. Its really emotional, there's a lot of characters but you get to know each one of them and care about them. Tears guaranteed!! But worth watching, totally recommend it. One of my favorites for sure
Fruits Basket is a masterpiece. A "funny drama" as you said, that will make you cry, either of joy or sadness. Everyone (specially teenagers) should watch it as all of its characters is dealing with some kind os social or mental problem, and this story deals with ways to overcome them or how to seek comfort and support. If it feels old is because it is an old anime, that got a remake a few years ago (the first anime just covered the first season) The endings are lovely too, but you cant watch the last one (as it spoils the end game of all the relationships)
Fruits Basket is an emotional rollercoaster of an anime. The best way I can describe this anime is it is the poster boy for perseverance. There are so many bad things that happen to the characters in this show, but Tohru (main character) just oozes positive energy. Considering everything that’s happened to her, you would think this girl would fold like a lawn chair, but she just keeps going, no matter how bad things get. I actually think this show would make for a good one to stream. It’ll make you laugh, smile and cry all in the same episodes. It’s got such a great cast of characters that I can’t say there were very many I hated. Obviously, there’s one character in-particular that’s hated/spited, but I won’t go into spoilers. This is legit an anime that could win one of your watch along polls. I would like to add one more thing Fruits Basket has one of my favorite all-time OSTs for any anime. There’s one song in-particular from season 2 called Haseru Mirai that might be one of my top 10 anime songs ever. It’s just such an emotional song that plays at the perfect moments in that season.
In my opinion, Fruits Basket (Furuba) is one of the best well-written shoujo manga. It was adapted in 2001 but at that time the manga was still ongoing so it wasn't completed. After many years, Furuba had a remake in 2019. Those openings are from the remake. Fun fact: Fans assisted Funimation in making 1,000 origami paper cranes. It is believed in Japan that if you make 1,000 cranes, your wish will come true. This persuaded them to greenlit the remake. Natsuki Takaya (creator of Furuba) also oversaw the remake project. Between the source material and remake, the only difference is just 1 character not shown in the remake but the rest of it stayed true to the material. I would recommend giving the remake a shot. You will definitely enjoy it.
My mans keeps talking about the chill vibes. Meanwhile I read the manga back in 2007 and have fallen so deeply in love with this story. The new anime made my cry every episode. And I dunno what it is about the 2nd op, but even inside this reaction I was BEAMING ear to ear hearing it, and as soon as it was over I started crying?!? "Chill vibes" he says, this story has ripped my heart out repeatedly and the worst part is I LET it hahaha. I just love it too much.
I remember watching Fruits Basket when it first came out in the early 2000's. I loved it so much but was confused at where it ended so the amount if joy I felt after hearing it was getting a full remake was immeasurable. Just listening to the first OP of the remake still brings a happy tear to my eye.
This was the first manga I read and I've been hooked ever since. I'm so glad they redid the anime and it got a good conclusion. This one is full of life lessons, growing through hardships to become a better person. This one will forever hold a place in my heart.
I don't know if it's the same for everyone else, but this is the type of anime that makes me cry my heart out. I've watched it twice already, cried as much the second time, and don't get me started on the movie, ohh.. good lord, the waterworks 😭😆 it's beautiful, sad, warm, and meaningful, I definitely recommend it 👍
AH YES, I RECOMMENDED REACTING TO *FRUITS BASKET* OPENINGS ON ALMOST EVERY VIDEO I WATCHED ON YOUR CHANNEL! IT'S MY MOST FAVOURITE ROMANCE ANIME OF ALL TIME (even one of my Top 10 Most Favourite anime in general) WITH ABSOLUTE BRILLIANT CHARACTER WRITING, STORY, MYTHOLOGY & EVERYTHING! IT'S REALLY A TEARJERKER FOR ME & ALOT OF FANS OUT THERE, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU GET TO THE POINT WHEN YOU'LL WATCH IT ✨
This is one of those series that you'll feel like "Oh, okay. This is one of those cute silly shows." then when you get into the meat of it, you'll be like "Oh. Oh, this is GOOD." Also, Tohru Honda is the purest female protagonist. This story is about a homeless girl finding cursed and unhappy beings and helping all of them finally become happy. This manga came out in the 90s, so it's a little old.
Fruits basket is incredibly special for me. All 3 seasons aired on a Monday which made mondays something to look forward to rather than just "get through" which was nice as a college student with nothing really going on in life. Easily one of my favourite romances, Definitely recommend.
I've seen 100s of Anime, and I can say it undoubtedly that there are certain anime which stands out most when we talk about OPs, EDs and OSTs like Black Clover, AOT... This fruit Basket is one of that kind of Anime which is very conscious in all that aspects. So, it stands out with those.
I've been asking for this reaction for months and I'm glad you've finally gotten around to it but you really need to react to the ending songs as well since those are just as great as the OPs
The vibes of both the intros and outros of Fruits Basket hits different from other animes. They're songs that you listen when it's raining and you feel melancholic or chill, and you can also listen to it when the rain ends and you want to relax and be inspired. It matches the feelings and message of the show so much, like when you get rained on but after that you get the serenity and peace of the sun coming out again.
You should totally put the endings of this anime on your list of things to react to, i would argue they are better than the ops every single one is so good
Fruits Basket is a Shojo anime/manga, which means that it is primarily targeted to younger girls/women instead of Shonen which is targeted to younger boys/men. This means that it is going to be more emotional and more romantic. You will also notice that the girls have more "realistic" proportions if you know what I mean and I think you do. There are also Josei (mature women) and Seinen (mature men) which are generally more emotionally complex and can deal with mature themes. Josei are quite rare and are usually gems when you can find them. A Josei example that I highly recommend is "Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku". Look up "Josei manga" on Wikipedia. A memorable line for me from this anime is (not exact quote) "Narumi remembered that Hirotaka was a man, and that her underwear was beige."
Dude really went from non anime fan to new anime fan pretty quick! The endings are just as great as the openings for fruits basket tbh. Also, the OST for Your Lie in April is by the same composer as the OST for Fruits Basket. I have 0 musical knowledge, but recognised that it was the same composer pretty quickly. Their OSTs are beautiful. As for why Fruits Basket probably has a bit of an old school vibe, is because the manga is quite old now, and the 2019 anime was released to essentially celebrate it's something year anniversary. The 2003 Fruits Basket anime - which if you saw it, you'd be able to tell it's age because it hasn't really aged all too well - is what got me into anime and then manga proper. Before I was introduced to Fruits Basket, I was still only watching anime that was on the telly, you know? So I have been an anime fan basically all my life, but Fruits Basket sealed the deal on me being a full blown anime nerd lmao.
Fruits Basket was my intro to anime back when it was originally released in the early 2000s. It was the first manga I read and the first anime I ever fully watched at the time. It holds a very special place in my heart and I was in tears when I learned they were remaking it and adding more seasons to it. I highly recommend you watch this, I think you would really enjoy it and I would love to see your reaction as someone who watched the original in their childhood. ❤
The Anime being old, its based off a Manga from the last 90's early 2000's that got an anime adaptation in 2001 but never finished and was dead for years. What your watching was a 2019 remake of the whole series that completely finished the source material where they got most of the old VA's back (Both Sub and Dub) to finished the whole thing by 2021. This almost never happens that a series gets a remake where they finish the whole story almost 20 years after the source ended. Fruits Basket is to Shojo Manga what Full Metal Alchemist is to Shonen.
🎉 Finally! This anime is about healing, really. But yeah if there were spoiler comments, you just would NOT believe some of the stuff that goes down in this anime. I do recommend you check out it :) it’s a very old school anime that got the remake it deserves 🎊 which are the openings you’ve reacted too
I was just scrolling through your channel and what a nice surprise you're reacting to Fruits Basket!! I feel like its so underrated although it did win crunchyroll anime of the year in 2019 (the remake). Would love to see you react to the EDs too, they're so good!!
Fruits basket is one of the nest anime dramas their is. The show is relativly new 2019-2021 but the source material is old from the 90s I think. Absolutely a beutiful story that willl make you a better person by watching it.
I first picked up the manga for fruits basket when i was like 10-11, needless to say this is a show that I adore, and even if I don't talk about it as my 'favourite anime' if there is ONE anime that i feel like anyone should watch a least once in their life, its this one
So Fruit's Basket is probably one of the most emotional animes you could ever sit and watch. It revolves around the girl you see several times Tohru Honda and she's trying to move on after her mother dies tragically leaving her alone aside from her grandfather and a few less than pleasant relatives. The people around her aside from her two best friends you see are the Soma clan. Who deal with a curse dating back centuries. When someone of the opposite sex hugs them they turn into one of the 12 zodiac beasts. They believe that Tohru is the key to breaking this curse. It's a high school setting rolled into a heart wretching, tear jerking hilarious story and I highly recommend it man easily 10/10.
One of my favourite anime! I found it by watching the 2001 series back in highschool, then read the manga. I was so, so happy when they announced the reboot for 2019 🥹
4:00 If this is the Japan you want to see, try not to spend all your time in places like Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto etc. Head up north, to prefectures like Gunma and Tochigi, where there's plenty of mountains and trees! There's a really nice national park called Nikko in Tochigi, it's up in the mountains with lots of beautiful temples and sculptures, including the "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" monkeys. It's also where Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate, is buried.
I love this anime so much, I'm watching both(here and on the pat). Please consider watching this series, it's just amazing THE ENDINGS ARE JUST AS GOOD, please do them too. There's only 5 as well, so it's pretty short
Fruits Basket has one of the very few OSTs where the waterworks just spring on when I hear the first ten seconds of a song (I have a feeling other Furuba fans know exactly which song is the biggest tearjerker).
The openings really paint a different picture than what the anime actually is. Fruits Basket is probably the most tragic anime I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen AoT). Beautiful anime with great messages. Definitely recommend to watch, or to at least watch the endings since they give a bit more to the story than the openings. Great reactions as always though.
HEAVILY RECOMMEND FRUITS BASKET! This anime is amazing and it's best to go in blind. Fruits Basket is so wholesome, but can also make you cry from that wholesomeness. If you can, react to the EDs as well as theyre just as amazing!
The second op "Chime" was by Ai Otsuka She was pretty popular, and charted artist back in the 2000's. All her 8-9 albums started with title "Love" something-something. Word "Ai", in Japanese, can also means love. But you already know that from Oshi no ko.
ruits Basket is simply one of the best romance anime that I probably wouldn't have watched earlier. There are two adaptations of the anime. The first was created in 2001 and consists of only one season with 26 episodes, which does not completely adapt the manga. But then a reboot started in 2019, which adapted the entire manga in three seasons with a total of 63 episodes. In addition, there is a prequel film "Fruits Basket Prelude", which (as far as can be told) tells the story of the parents of the main female protagonist.
I don’t know if someone else mention this before but this is the new version, there was and “original” one back in 2000’s I think it was that year and recommend watching too along with this one, both are great and yes the story is a bit darker than the openings let you think 🤣 but it’s soo good
Was not expecting to see a reaction to the best show in the shoujo genre. A surprise, but a pleasant one, to be sure. I had an idea for a little video series you might be interested in. At the start of each new season of anime, you could dedicate a few videos to going through the seasonal anime list and reacting to each show's OP. Or, at least, dedicate a video each season to reacting to the best OPs as voted on by your viewers. Just an idea.
the endings are amazing, the OST are also good I think you'd enjoy haseru mirai and umareru onegai. I love fruba so much its my favorite anime. thank you for the reaction :)
Yes, it comes across as a little older generation because its a remake of the first Fruits Basket anime, which is more adorable, whereas this one follows the story more and is still AMAZING, emotional, wholesome, sweet, sad, romantic, dramatic, and interesting all at once. Please watch this! The original was the first anime I ever watched and the manga was my first I ever read. Still my favorite of both.

Fruits Basket unironically has both the most wholesome relationships ever along with the most toxic relationships ever. The duality is insane.
I think the EDs are even better than the OPs. Overall probably my favorite collection of EDs of any anime.
agreeeeed
This ^^^
Facts bro ong
Gotta agree on this one 100%
100% agreed there!
fruits basket is the best romance anime of all time

Sameee. Second fav anime after AOT
I put fruits basket above aot because of the characters

The endings are lovely too, but you cant watch the last one (as it spoils the end game of all the relationships)
Omg! ❤😭 I love this anime so much, I really recommend you to see it. You'll like it a lot. The history is interesting ❤
Inuyasha is a big show I'm surprised no one mentions it .That show has good OPs and EDs BTW.
well i did :P but as a 3rd option
Fruits basket is about how an orphan girl heals everyones traumas, including mine (and her own)
The old Fruit Basket OP is the legend
Opening 3 always makes me so emptional like I have no control when that beat drops...
It is my favorite opening as well.
Fruits Basket really gets you into the touchy feels. Now we need him to react to the Fruits Basket Outro
I didn't think I'd like Fruits Basket, but I balled my eyes out multiple times.
OP1 Again by Beverly is one of my favourite anime song of all time. I recommend you to hear the full song.
This was the first manga I read and I've been hooked ever since. I'm so glad they redid the anime and it got a good conclusion. This one is full of life lessons, growing through hardships to become a better person. This one will forever hold a place in my heart.
When every episode makes you cry
It's my guilty pleasure. It's a emotional, beautiful anime.
This is my absolute favorite anime, would love to see you react to the series, its quite different from the other anime you've reacted too!
IT'S REALLY A TEARJERKER FOR ME & ALOT OF FANS OUT THERE, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU GET TO THE POINT WHEN YOU'LL WATCH IT ✨
the first opening has an english version with the same singer and that singer is actually a filipina her name is BEVERLY
This is one of those series that you'll feel like "Oh, okay. This is one of those cute silly shows." then when you get into the meat of it, you'll be like "Oh. Oh, this is GOOD."
Also, Tohru Honda is the purest female protagonist.
Fruits Basket is one of my favourite anime😍
I do recommend you check out it :) it’s a very old school anime that got the remake it deserves 🎊 which are the openings you’ve reacted too
Endings are even better and more enjoyable. Must react to them.
I love how the openings reveal nothing yet gives you the vibe of Fruits Basket anyway. Please, I would absolutely love to see you react to the anime~~
I was just scrolling through your channel and what a nice surprise you're reacting to Fruits Basket!! I feel like its so underrated although it did win crunchyroll anime of the year in 2019 (the remake). Would love to see you react to the EDs too, they're so good!!
Fruits Basket was a fantastic watch.
Still haven’t made it through OP2 without tearing up a little
The first opening was sung Beverly Caimen, a WCOPA(World Championship of Performing Arts) champion.
Fruits Basket is an absolutely beautiful anime. Definitely something you should watch but you're right it is emotional with comedic relief thrown in
Fruits Basket is an awesome Slice of Life with a sprinkle of mysticism.
try reacting the endings too theyre amazing as well
Highly recommended anime!
The main character Tohru Honda (the brown hair girl) is voiced by Akane Kurokawa's voice actor from Oshi No Ko
I was so, so happy when they announced the reboot for 2019 🥹
ive cried on so many episodes. i truly love this anime. i do highly recommend watching this one as well
Yes watch the endings! And pleasee include this on your next watch-a-long list of animes poll!
god i love this show. i recommend doing the endings as well.
Please consider watching this series, it's just amazing
THE ENDINGS ARE JUST AS GOOD, please do them too.
I just love Fruits Basket! It's one of the best anime I've ever watched. 🥰✨❤️
HEAVILY RECOMMEND FRUITS BASKET! This anime is amazing and it's best to go in blind. Fruits Basket is so wholesome, but can also make you cry from that wholesomeness. If you can, react to the EDs as well as theyre just as amazing!
The second op "Chime" was by Ai Otsuka
She was pretty popular, and charted artist back in the 2000's.
The Fruits Basket (2019) endings are just as beautifully done! Especially the last
I don’t know if someone else mention this before but this is the new version, there was and “original” one back in 2000’s I think it was that year and recommend watching too along with this one, both are great and yes the story is a bit darker than the openings let you think 🤣 but it’s soo good
Was not expecting to see a reaction to the best show in the shoujo genre.
The amount of love I have for this anime is beyond me.
