I personally think it's a good idea not to go alone when you explore these old properties, it's a good idea to have someone with you in case you need help,

My mother In laws 2nd husband died. He had a saw mill and would let people park their vehicles that needed to be junked on the property. Well she had yo clean the property up to sell. She had all the vehicles but up and recycled. She made 500,000 dollars the recycling of the metal. This video reminds me of that.

Individuals can claim abandoned properties from the county from the city for free as long as they make improvements such as cleaning up check with your account to see if this property is abandoned if so you can take it over legally and you own it long as you pay the taxes you have a right and have a lien on the property FYI just in case you want to own some property

Just passing through the comments reading, so I don't wanna seem like one of those asshole trolls but in all honesty mam. Salvaging and rebuilding of classic cars isn't a dying hobby at all, in fact it's never been more popular! The car restoration community on RUclips is absolutely huge! Ive seen teenagers barely out of high school, male and female, rebelling classics that look like they should be in a car crusher and bringing them back to original or better. For example: V-Tuned Garage, Cassidy Mceown, ect.

That's so sad that all those cars are just sitting there, literally sinking into the ground, especially when some of them are in decent looking shape. Even if some of them can only be used for parts, it's better than them just sitting out there to rot away. 😩 I think my 2 favourites were the ones in the barns--the one you said your grandfather had (what a shame this one here is so far gone) and the other one at the end in the metal shed--cars look nothing like that anymore, and that's what makes them so special! Glad you were able to get out of there without a sprained ankle (i cringed a few times watching this). Take care and stay safe, Ethan.

I was very surprised to see all those cars on that property! How many vehicles does one person need. Maybe if one of the vehicles breaks down the others can be driven around as a spare. Usually a house hold will have at least 4 cars just in case one of the cars breaks down and they have 3 cars to drive around in.

My family's livelihood came from the business of towing and recovery, aka wrecker service. We have a lot very much like this. Originally a storage lot, after the wrecker brings the totaled vehicle into the storage lot, the owner gets with the insurance company. Sometimes they have them fixed up - in which case they don't stay in the storage lot - other vehicles, the insurance company pays the owner and the car is never retrieved. The grass and weeds do grow up tall around them, sometimes even trees grow out of them. Oftentimes they are harvested for parts, yet the shell just sits and decays.

  • @Marc-js8rx
    @Marc-js8rx 4 часа назад

You're learning, dude. That's the most important thing; THE most endearing aspect of your journey. So you get 👍👍from this older hot rodder 'cause you're really making the effort...and you're LEARNING...and that's the most important lesson. We older dudes didn't get all this ticky-tack detail knowledge in 5, 6, or even 10 years. It took most of us a couple decades to spot all these picayune details out for nearly all the cars you showed us. Don't be discouraged by any criticism; take it in stride and become the next gen of expertise, 'cause we're dying off. Stick with it!
First off, that's a 1968 Camaro. Two clues: the '67 had vent windows; the '68 & '69 did not. Also, the '67 had ROUND turn signal lights up in the grille; the '68 had rectangular turn signal lights ('69s had none up in the grille). So that was a 1968. Btw, it still had the original inline 6-cyl engine in it.
    **1965 IMPALA**
That one happened to be a Super Sport. You could tell by the blacked-out horizontal strip below the trunk, above the bumper. Also, if I'm not mistaken, its color may have been that very rare "Evening Orchid"!! It was a very, very light Lavender hue. Really a super-rare color choice... and it was only offered for 1965 !!
    **1963 IMPALA 409 CLUES**
    > First, when you opened the hood of the '63, the car's Trim Tag was facing up on the driver's side cowl. There would be a stamping code that designates it as a 409.
    > Otherwise, if the dash had a tachometer (mandatory with the 409) within the instrumentation, that'd be another clue.
    > I see it had a floor shift, but I couldn't see if it had a clutch pedal. (Your camera moves too fast, even for us experienced car gurus, dude!).
    > They took the radiator out (and its core support!). That would've been another 409 "tell" if it had the larger radiator.
    > On the steering wheel's horn ring, you could see if it says SUPER SPORT around the Impala insignia. I couldn't tell from you FAST MOVING CAMERA!
Overall, let me offer this advice: Grab that '63 or the '65 Impala convertible as soon as you can scrounge up the $$. Neither are not that roached out. My observation: you get too fatalistic just because you see some rotted-out floors. Maybe it's your youth, I don't know... but they sell COMPLETE floors now for the '60s Chevys. So don't get discouraged. Hell! I replaced the FULL UNDERCARRIAGES on my two 1955 Chevys. They make the floor pans AND the complete firewall to rear bumper flooring, and they're not that expensive. Anyone with basic welding skills can spot weld that new floor to it. But those two-door 1960's classics are not growing on trees... and the finished ones are BIG $$$$ to buy!
Good luck, grasshopper! Keep it up!

That Trans AM with the tan interior is worth a good bit online. Why would someone ruine a 68k mile car (109 kilometers=67k miles)

something you might want to know is in 68 there was a mandate for side marker lights so if a car has them then its most likely a 68 or later, one of those "monte carlo's" i think was a Chrysler cordoba or similar

The 1968 camaro went a ASTRO vent system and did a way with the windows wings on the doors but the 1967 and 1968 camaro doors will interchangeable so look on the dash for the round ASTRO vent holes .

I find it hard to believe this is an actual car “collection” on purpose …..looks more like cars that were driven till something broke then parked and nothing done to them. Like a life time of vehicles from family, friends etc….maybe picking up vehicles to “restore” someday 😅
