The fresh water will have been rotting the hell out of the system, hence why it's orange, the sensor is probably full of gunk.

From looking at the brown water I'd say The system could do with flush.
My tip is never to leave the aav open after venting the pump, it's only there for commissioning!
👍🏽 good tip but on the flip side if customer drains heating system to carry out repairs the boiler may not vent all the air out

You also missed that the non return part of filling loop was on heating side when you replaced you fitted it correctly
