    To raise my 5 gal. bucket toilet, I purchased 2 plastic oil pans from the automotive dept. at Walmart. I stacked them together, turned them upside down, and the bucket sits perfectly on this surface. It added 3” to the height which I wanted. Also, Walmart sells a toilet seat with lid in the camping department. Fits the bucket perfectly and is very comfortable.

    I am a State Patrol officer. I frequently spend long periods on the highway, far from restrooms. I have a cassette toilet (similar to the kind depicted in the first part of the video) in my vehicle.
    I once pulled over a young woman for speeding. When I asked why she was going so fast, she replied frankly that she had diarrhea and was trying to get to a restroom in time. The nearest facilities were a long way in either direction, so I let her use my cassette toilet. I doubt she'd have made it otherwise.

      @@lessoflifefamily That's true, I know I have been.
      But as I told her... if you mess your pants it's not pleasant, but it affects only you, and eventually you clean yourself up and continue with your day. But if you hit someone because you were speeding, that can affect more people than just you, in a much more permanent way. That's why it's best to always go the speed limit, even if you really gotta go. Or just get a bucket toilet, like you and I have done.

      @@storesellify wood chips you put about 2 inchs in the the bottom of the bucket before going and then after you go poo/pee you do the same and cover the waste you make then when you do make that hole you can just dump it in with no problem and No bag. :)

    I understand that placing the bucket into a sturdy Milk Crate makes it very difficult to tip, and provides a more pleasurable experience.

    GREAT IDEA USING THE BUCKET LID! IF YOU WANNA RAISE THE HEIGHT OF THE BUCKET FOR BETTER COMFORT, (I have bad knees) SIMPLY PLACING THE MAIN BUCKET INTO ANOTHER BUCKET. SHOULD RAISE IT A FEW INCHES. I'VE ALSO SEEN PEOPLE USING PINE PELLETS WITH GOOD, LESS SMELLING RESULTS. GREAT VIDEO...THANKS FOR SHARING!

      Great tip to raise it up and we use pine wood shaving also sometimes! Thanks for sharing!

      How about using a 7 1/2 gallon painters bucket instead?

    I use trash compactor bags I get at Costco as liners. They are strong and leakproof and so much cheaper than those bags you buy for the potty

    Could you use kitty litter..a scoop or two..in the bottom to clump solids and absorb liquid?

    • @lessoflifefamily
      @lessoflifefamily  Месяц назад +1

      I won't give advice of what to use because some places have laws about how to dispose of human waste. I also will not deny that we may or may not have used kitty litter with success and to eliminate smells 😉

    • @lessoflifefamily

      Personal preference....it was too heavy and was flipping the bucket over when we opened the lid. An option could be to put a few bricks or something in the bottom.

      I did essentially the same thing, my question is what do you put in the bag to dry out the waist and mask the odor. I'm thinking clumpable cat litter

    • @coreyhattenstein
      @coreyhattenstein Год назад +1

      @@brucetench6557 I use pet bedding material and some rv toilet crystals I found on amazon. In my experience the odor is worse in a confined area instead of outside but no matter what youtubers say, in the end it is 💩 we are talking about. 😁

      Cat litter , wood chips that you’d get for like a pet hamster , cut up lemons and limes can help the smell also .. or if your in a pinch just use dirt to cover as you go ..
