To be fair, Jacob probably didn't know he was creating life. It doesn't take away from the horror of it all though, I'd probably go mad with drawing just like he did.
He'd gotten the stick somehow. He must have either found it thrown away (probably not he'd probably have walked past it as if it were nothing) or from some kind of voodoo shop whoever the seller was would have given warnings. But hey we'll never know

Seems very literal.
This is a very interesting topic and subject. Its beautiful really. Combining the creation of life and illustrations are very much the same thing.
Me as a begining writer do happen to think to myself about this sort of thing. What would my creations thinkof me? Would they hate me for the things I put them through? Would they try to destroy the very source or their creation since they merely don't want to exist? Would they think of me as a sick and twisted god pulling the strings of their fates?
Writing or art in general is all about creating ideas which is a somewhat equivalent of creating life itself. Its not literal but to the creators themselves, that's like creating your own children, friends or family. They know you and you know them best. They're a part of you. That's the main reason why I want to write. To create characters who have a piece of myself and those I trust the most inside of them. For them to have a good ending. To inspire other people through my own personal works. I still have a lot more work to do.
At least for me a writer, I'm very picky about what I write about since I feel wrong in doing so since it's not my style. Creepypastas I'm fine with. I just need to work on my style a bit. Hell my main characters now that I'm working on used to be creepypasta concepts and now they kinda branched off from that. They still have their same personalities but they just aren't killers. My character Vincent used to be Locksmith. Maybe I'll use my original concept with the cps for an alternate reality storyline for one of my stories. To see how much things have changed just from a few or more different factors. The concept of love I'm getting used to. The concept of writing in the sense of a madman I'm used to (I wrote some fanfics, not the love kind, in the point of view of Joey Drew from Bendy and the Ink Machine because of my view on him during the 1st chapters release. My view still stands. I'm surprisingly good at it. In the insane and corrupted creator sense)
This story makes a person think. Its really a beautiful piece.

Something you always see when someone brings things to life or deals with living things: They are capable of thoughts and emotions. Making them angry will always lead to some kind of revenge against you
unless your powerful enough to deal with it. Jacob Emory was just a human. so, weak, especially compared to drawings. but if your more than human? stronger? better? living things mean nothing to you, they are much less of an actual threat.
Easy way to make sure to not to end up like Jacob; actually talk to them by writing and not force them to do anything they don't want to do.
What would I do if I ended up with Jacob Emory's power? Simple. I'd lock it in a chest, go to Mt. Everest and place it deep in its interior where it will never be found. How does that appeal?

I like this, it’s less of a scary story and more of a moral lesson about playing god. Great power, great responsibility and all. Very creative story none the less. Also an awesome reading of it!

Imagine one day, a 100% bona-fide door to heaven appeared on Earth. What do you think people's reactions would be? Would they want to go through it? Would they want to meet God on the other side? Would they want to bring God to Earth, to see what His creations had done?
...and would they understand, let alone appreciate, the consequences of dragging God out of heaven?
Consider now that it is not people who are doing this, but even less developed things. 2-dimensional caricatures given life, given little purpose or experience besides what function their creator has made for them... Except for the drawn Jacob, of course.
