Karan, I understand what you mean a lot. When you said you could not sleep, and the anxiety and stress makes the mind play tricks on you to seek comfort. Sometimes, when you say things like that, I wonder how can someone say things that sound so wise beyond their years. It makes me really appreciate your videos even more. Thank you.
Loved it and rightly said - dont do too many things at one time ! Very informative ! Missing you too ! Take care be safe keep strong and remember we love you so much my second officer! 👦🏼❤️❤️❤️
Hey, there! I watched your video and completely understand your feelings. My previos voyage was my 1st as a 2nd Officer, and it was a big chaos in my mind, after the previos 2nd mate signed - off. I was worried about the passage plan, the medical locker, etc. But after the 10th day on board I realised it was much much easier. The first few days on board are always scary, nerveous and you miss home. But that's the way it is. Have a safe voyage and stay positive! All the best!
What helps for me is: always remember what you always wanted to do, why you wanted to do it, how many people would love to do what you do and how many people you help with what you do. Feel the rythm of the mashine in combination with nature; treat the ship like it a good friend or pet, love the sea you run through; you might not be free in reality but you might be able to feel the freedom of sailing and accept the set destination as a personal destination. Imagine how many man and children stand at the beach wishing they could sail that beautiful ship. And remember that you transport precious cargo, which might save someones life later.
Thanks for the video. I am a Captain too. A much smaller scale. I have crossed oceans on my sailboat and captained ferries. I know exactly what you mean on not sleeping. I could never sleep well just before a passage. Too many things going through my mind: weather always the biggest. Also equipment, rigging etc. have subscribed.
Yeah I do get anxiety attacks and some times it gets my mind haywire. But getting things back to its places through your videos which gives motivation and peace.
Great video. With everything new, there is usually chaos at first. But everything new takes time. I think after a half-year break, you need something to get used to everyday work again. I wish you, your crew and your new ship a safe journey and stay healthy.💙💖🙏⚓🚢👋👩
Wow what a hectic time coming on board the new smaller ship. Thanks so much for showing all of us what goes on as you transition onto this new ship and get going.
I have worked in a high-responsibility, high-stress job most of my career. I have found that situations like you have been through teach many valuable lessons. Next time it will be easier to prioritize the tasks. With time comes experience. With experience comes proficiency. Soon you will make it look easy! 🙂
I know the pressure that you have gone through. Time and experience will change this, in about two vessel changes, you will experience the calm cool feeling that "I" am more than capable of being a 2/0. Note, Chief officer experience will be FUN - Enjoy your youth and stay "CALM" Always remember, every criticism/compliment, is a learning curve. I have never worked the far East to East Africa, I shall look forward to your future blogs.
Great to see you back at sea!! I'm sure you will have everything sorted out very quickly. Looking forward to your new adventures around the world. All the best to you from San Diego, California.
Happy you are back to making these great videos. I am sure you will love the Mac. I have had a Mac Book Pro for 7 years and it is still the best computer I ever bought. In 7 years I have only had to replace the battery once, 3 months ago. Looking forward to what you can show us in Season 3.
Absolutely brilliant, you are so well organised. Nice to see daylight from your window not just containers. Good look on your new voyage and your new ship, I really enjoy your vlogs as I subscribed a month ago and I’m hooked. Thank you
I know you are so tired, boy the excitement of being First Officer is also taxing for you. I know you will settle in there. You are a professional and perfectionist in everything you do. Congratulations. Take your time, think twice before doing, and take notes. Bless you. Till the next time. Mathew

Plz stay calm don't loose hope, just think of Annapurna Base camp what u did at Base Camp nice memories!! U will be fine, have faith in Lord Shiva!! And last but not the list we all are with you!! Go well!!😀😀

That was a lot of things happening all at once! Great advice too. I've discovered those things myself - take notes, one thing at a time (unless there's something that can easily be interwoven with what you're doing), and get enough rest because tired people make mistakes. You mentioned Singapore to Africa? Are you headed anywhere near the areas off East Africa where there has been pirate activity? Good luck, stay safe!
