Occasionally, some of you complained about the lack of articulation of my voice in videos. I hope it's better this time around with a brand-new and higher-quality microphone. Thank you for being here and providing me with constructive criticism. 🥂
all that is superficial...ignore them...we are here for quality and not quantity. we are here for the real business, not fancy camera shots and production quality.
Never had a problem understanding you. I think it is just people not being used to your Serbian accent. I find your presentation very clear and decisive.
It is always better to be better, of course, there was nothing wrong with your voice though, some people are just nerver happy I guess. Anyway, have a good weekend!
I’ve never had trouble understanding you but, I’m always happy when people get good microphones. Using EQ can improve the sound and clarity of speech as well as make many microphones sound better which I’m sure you already know. I saw a video of someone camping microphones and EQ and how good you can make even inexpensive microphones sound.
English is not my mother tongue, me too, but I never had difficulty understanding you. The words are clear, precise and appropriate for any audiophile that we are. There will always be negative reviews, these people don't understand: we are here for the audio not for the pronunciation, damn it! Keep up the great work! I have a Denafrips Ares 2, Hegel H190, iFi Zen Stream and plan to get Arendal 1723 soon, although I ordered SVS Prime Pinnacle for an audio trial. These SVS are half the price, but I think I'll be tempted by the Arendal given your review and that of Jay Iyagi, like that of Audioholics... The sound and the pleasure of listening must take precedence over everything! Keep up the great work
Every reviewer that I held up high has praised Arendal and I have started to covet a pair of 1723. I have gone from stand-mounts to high (92 dB) sensitive floor-standers and I'm probably not going to turn back. The dynamics and the "live" feeling the big speakers gives me is pleasure to experience. Small ones can sound fantastic and when they do you want more! but they can't give you more 😞 As iiWi said here, high sensitive floor stand speakers have the ability to sound great at low listening levels making them excellent for home cinema/TV as well. After a lot of reading and youtube watching about the Arendal I came to the same conclusion as iiWi - this is a pair of speakers you can build your system around. Time to get the instant noodle diet going and save up for a pair.
Hi everyone and many thx to Srboljub for willingness to review these speakers. Btw, I am soontomeetfriendownerofthespeakers and here are couple of additional things which some of you may find interesting about Arendals. The cabinets are made from HDF (high pressure dencity), not MDF boards, so that is why they are quite heavy and sturdy. As for the looks, I agree that there were no Italian designers involved, but on the other hand, they have grills with magnets, which is a nice touch. I personally bought them because I have a big room and these speakers are supposed to shine with more air. People from Arendal suggested to use good class D amplifier for some additional strength, which I will most probably do with LSA WARP 1. Having that in mind, I noticed that you have new DAC and preamp from Acoustic Invader on your rack. These look fantastic and I am sure they sound great, but way above my budget at the moment. Talking about budgeting, Arendal is not clear about shipping at their webpage, which means additional 380 € for DHL as Serbia is not a part of EU, and 10% more for custom fee as they were not made in Norway, but in China. Nobody can be sure if they are going to be satisfied or not, but it is worth to try, especially because there is a 60 days return policy, if you don't like them. Furthermore, I would like to try build a system around these speakers using R2R dac, especially Audio GD R-28, RME Adi-2 fs or Gustard x26 pro. Have a great day everyone. Radomir (one more similar sounding LOTR characters).
@@iiWiReviews I certainly hope so. Could you please share with us what gear did you use for testing them? Did you try to combine different types of amps and preams? Besides D class amps, I would like to try them with Sugden Masterclass amps or similar.
I have the 1723 THX Monitors (my preference) and SVS subwoofer. My search is over for speakers as for me they are superb in every way. Arendal themselves have said in an Audioholics video, if you have a good subwoofer the Monitors are a better bargain. Keep in mind, the monitors and floor standers are THX Ultra certified so either version will play louder than your ears can withstand.
Thinking about getting 3 of these monitors for my front sound stage. I have two 3 channel amps. One is 140 watts per channel other is 300 watts depending on ohms. Should I keep the Emotiva XPA-3 over the bassx A-3 for these speakers? I have two sealed svs ultra 16's to compliment them.
@@jacobsteele7138 Unfortunately I am not familiar with those amps. These speakers are not hard to drive though. I'm using a Hegel H-190, 150 watts into 8 ohm and 250 watts into 4 ohms. Hegel volume control is 1 to 100, 100 being loudest. I can'tgo above 60, that's plenty loud for me. I don't think either or your amps would be an issue. Even if you prefer extremely loud, I really don't think you be short on power as long as your amps have good "headroom". I would think the Emo's are good in this department.
Thank you for your honest review on these speakers. I have to say your review is 100% accurate. I am now in my 5th day of getting these speakers replacing my R700's. I really do think the R700's are a fantastic speaker but I think these are are very good improvement. You are correct the 1723 are very revealing with great imaging and separation but really smooth and juicy not bright. I find everything you describe is what I am hearing. NO SUB NEEDED is one of the most important factors when I am shopping for speakers. I am using Mcintosh tub pre and Mcintosh solid state amp. I am truly hearing things in the recording I did not hear before but it's not bright or fatiguing. Thank you for your review on these speakers.
GREAT REVIEW! Articulate, descriptive, and informative. Your English is exceptional and I wish I spoke a second language as well as you. (Heck, I wish I spoke English as well as you!)
So I’m considering a home theater overhaul, and my budget for the front towers is about 3k. Right now the top three on my list due to imaging, soundstage, and neutrality are the Arendal THX S, the KEF R11(non-meta 2800$), and the Q Acoustics Concept 50. I like the Q Acoustics Aesthetically, but like that the other 2 have actual bass extension below 40hz for the same money. Unfortunately there’s no way to audition towers without spending hundreds on return costs, so I’m kind of at a loss.
Thanks for the review. Matches my experience with the Arendals. Compared them to KEF R3 Meta, B&W 702 S2 and 705 S3, SVS Prime Pinnacles, Polk R700 and KLH Kendall’s in my listening room. Went with the Arendals and I’m very happy with my decision.

The Arendal's will blow the SVS speakers out of the water. You get what you pay for most of the time with audio gear. Although Magnepans perform way above their price points.
I'm in the same boat now. Wanting to upgrade from Infinity Primus towers to either SVS Prime Pinnacles or Arendal. How did you like the Prime Pinnacle?
The SVS Prime Pinnacles are good. Liked the bass. Good deal at $1999 US in gloss finish. Liked the Arendals better but they cost $3699 so if cost isn’t an issue I would recommend the Arendals.
I love the SVS Prime Pinnacle. So good bass for half the price. Maybe too much bass thought... that's why i ordered foam plugs to put in those bass reflex for a try. I'm just curious how the Arendal 1723 sound. The model S (1723 S) looks the best choice for me 'cause the big one (1723) seems too big for my place. I will surely listen to them if they come to the Montreal Hifi show. It will cost me around 6k$ for a try at my home... something to think about first...@@chrisfromoh
I like the Prime Pinnacle so much. The lows are pretty good but perhaps too much for me, even i like bass. I just want to ear the Arendal for comparison. I had made my inscription with the Facebook customer group to let know that i want to ear them here in Quebec, Canada if it's possible. I will wait and see. Hope someone can offer me the opportunity to ear them. Last thing: the SVS are way cheeper than the Arendal 1723 S. So, for the money, it's a great choice. @@jeroenvanwesemael8556 I've always had floor standers so it's not possible for me to compare with stand mounted, my CD player is 20 years old I'm looking to upgrade to an Gustard R26. There is decent 3 D soundstage, all I can say is give them an audition in your listening room. Hope this helps.
One of the things that fascinates me is how many of us went from exclusive floor-standing speaker listeners, to exclusive- or near-exclusive stand-mount speaker listeners. There were great stand-mount speakers a generation ago and a lot of us never heard any of them on principle.
Excellent review! Your rationale for buying stand mounts over floor standers is exactly the same as mine. The only floor stander I ended up keeping in my room are Magnepans.
this is the most enthusiastic review of the sound quality of all other reviews ive watched . the other reviews emphasized the build quality but said polite but unexcited things about the sound . even this review as good as he is at vocalizing the subtle , did not seem to be all that excited about the bass or the soundstage . However, still on my Go And Listen List .
I have always wonder how my Arendal speakers stack up against KEF R or Focal Aria. You covered both! Thank you so much! Now I can sleep soundly at night knowing I didn't make a bad decision haha.
An MTM tower speaker *used* to be fairly common. But for what ever reason, tower speakers of any sort are less numerous these days. I tend to prefer tower speakers - you can get more bass extension in the same/similar footprint. The main feature of the MTM (aka D'Appolito) is the two midrange drivers have vertical cancellations, that prevent some early reflections off the floor and/or ceiling.
I want to thank you with respect to your comments about cables I went and buy the Atlas interconnect that you recommended and that made a fantastic changein my system so I changed all my generic cables including AC power cables with atlas brand .Thanks again for your suggestion.
Ive noticed that any tweeter with a deep wave guide always has a forward sound, even with paper tweeters. These speakers have gotten some really good reviews overall, I would be interested to try the smaller version of these. They are bookshevles but huge, almost like a tower
Thank you so much for reviewing these speakers. I''m personally interested in the monitor version of these. Different speakers, I know...but this gives me some perspective. Wondering if they might actually image better than the towers? Such a great review, as always!
Just got My Pair I am blown away how much every track I play is more alive and full bodied I’m thinking of getting The R2R Gustard R26 to expand the deft and scale of the sound stage what do you think about that pairing ?
Congratulations on your purchase, great speakers. R26 is also a fantastic DAC and there's nothing in the Arendal's tuning that would be problematic for that match... But of course, it's the whole system and every other component synergy.
@@tbullard3 I have talked with one JBL HDI3800 owner who loves them, but you might want to check out the review done on them by Erin's Audio Corner, and of course audition them yourself if possible.
@iiWiReviews one last question, do you think the 1723 or the 1723s monitors on stands supporter by a subwoofer will have more holographic depth and imaging than the floorstanders, or are they still to big? And would the s or normal version be preferred? Last q, do you think they will give me the more detailed and transparent sound that I am looking for compared to my monitor audio silver series?
Thanks once again. I saw your question about imagining in the previous thread so please take a look at that answer. As for deteil retrieval, yes I do expect Arendals to bring a noticeable uplift there too.
If Arendals were sold using standard dealership method, they would have around two times the price tag. So there overall detail retrieval and transparency should be comparable to Monitor Audios, KEFs, Focals... Of that higher price.
@@iiWiReviews that's the real advantage indeed. Saves a lot of money especially if you want to combine 2 channel and.home theather like me. In the end I need a 5 channel base layer with the same drivers... I'll first order the 2 fronts 1723s and compare them to the silvers, when I indeed hear the big upgrade between the 2 I will order the rest.
@iiWiReviews Just wanted to let you know that I made a start with the brand by buying their 1723s center speaker. What a beast!! It completely changed/turned around my home cinema, so clear, so dynamic, neutral and the punch. Effect hit you like a truck. Watching star trek when the enterprice goes into warp, BANG... Hahaha... Build quality even better then I was preparered for. Just insane value compared to my old monitor audio silver center. Did not expect this big a difference. While the silver is the same price! Now saving for the towers, can't wait for them. Thanks a lot for your help!
Matori, odradio si bas lep prikaz Arendala. Ja sam se skoro zainteresovao za ovog proizvodjača jer sam uvideo da im je kvalitet izrade iznad proseka u klasi. Hvala ti na trudu. Pozz
I'm looking at these, the martin logan xt f100, not sure if a 3 way is better? But I like the horn style wave guide tweeter that the logan has, pluss its 3 way
Hi Srboljub. Shipping is free only to Europe and Continental US+Canada. Everywhere else shipping is quite expensive, as I found out when trying to order the 1723 S THX monitors to the Caribbean. Arendal quoted a US $800 charge (for a pair of $1,999 monitors) for shipping using DHL, so I had to desist. Thanks for your thorough review.
Maybe Arendal should state this on their website. I'm surprised they include shipping at all given that the speakers are so heavy. I do understand that shipping outside EU and north america would be a different matter when it comes to delivery service and insurance cost and procedure.
thank you for another great one, would it be possible for you to start posting in video description all songs/tracks mentioned ? there is a lot of good music to discover in your reviews
I love your honoust reviews! I currently own silver 300 7g and am looking to maybe upgrade to arendal 1723s which you obviously think is a really good speaker. Do you think that is a big step up? In whay way? Thanks a lot!
Thanks for your support! As for your question, I listened to some earlier MA Silvers, and I don't remember listening to 7g iteration. But I would be willing to make an educated guess that Arendals would be a very nice upgrade.
If you try them, I suggest playing with bass reflex ports - keeping all of them open, closed, or just some of them closed. It's a great way to match bassline response to your room.
Yeah picked that up from your review, great tip. I'm really looking for a more revealing speaker, the silvers are great but not as revealing/transparant/detailed as my focal bathys are. Hope they can bring that.

As fas as dacs, I'd have to A/B them in my listening room to evaluate whether your recommended $1700 r2r dac is worth the upgrade over my $110 Sanskrit 2.
@decaf77 There good compared to my klipsche they sound cleaner especially at louder volumes..only thing I don't like is the bass response..its ok but I can use a bit more output but that's personal preference..I think I can get better sound from a processor than a receiver..it might shine even more
Hi there ! Nice review, thanks for the nuance when you said they were bright i nearly clicked off the video because i really don’t like bright speakers, you made the distinction very clear that they had texture and that it was more of a crispiness, anyway my question is what’s the best dac to pair them with given i have an atoll in200 to power them ? Also i was really surprised when you said dynaudio couldn’t match them given how good their evoke line is, especially the evoke 50
I really want the THX center channel, but unfortunately my media cabinet is too tall to accommodate anything taller than 8” without obstructing the TV screen, and I have the TV mounted as high as I am comfortable viewing. I’m wondering if that super deep waveguide will fix the horizontal off axis issues with 2-way MTM center designs.
Hello Srboljub and Radomir. I thank you both for making this video possible. I thought I had my end-game figured out, but this review has given me something to think about. I have been saving for years and I'm going to buy myself my end-game system soon. I was thinking about Elysian 2/4, but now I think I am going to add these Arendale towers/monitors into the mix. I watched your review on Acoustic Invader AMP/DAC and I wanted to get that stack for my next speakers, but I see you used R26 instead. Does that mean R26 is a better paring for them? Do you have any other suggestions (should I get a preamp too for example)? I have no experience with different cables, but I will get those cables you suggested too, just in case. :) Please help your brother from Republika Srpska to build his system "for life". Thank you! :D
Hello I purchased a pair of their book shelf 1961 model . They are small tweeter and a 5 1/2 inch bass . I am amazed and just love the sound .I'm in a small place . I don't evan use a sub . As it says is good for larger area . I had never herd of them before . They are no longer available They do sell the 1961model But it has two 5 inch plus tweeter . I paid 8 00 dollars for my babies and I love them clarity amazed I was thinking about the other company from same Denmark area I can't think of the name great speakers aswell but alot more money advacart something like that but the Arendal surprised me wow hard to beat
The anger control issues comment was on point AF! One question on these though. How are they with crappy old rock and roll recordings? I find that certain gear makes it unlistenable. Like the Eigentakt amp for instance. I had to send it back unfortunately. Because it only sounded good on great recordings unfortunately. Thank you for all you do. ✌️
Not sure. They have dynamics and bass/midbass needed for the rock. I enjoyed it but that slightly brighter/crisper tone has to be put under control when matching... Otherwise it could sound a bit jarring with those older thinner recordings.
@@peterlarkin762 I don't know? I have an all new system right now that makes them sound great. Besides, I'm not looking for any enhancements. Just a system that sounds great playing anything. Which I already have, but am always looking at new toys. Intel NUC/DDC, Bifrost 2, Freya + with nice vintage tubes, Akitika GT-102 amp, Elac Carina bookies, 2 REL T Zero MKIII in stereo.
Hello and congratulations on the channel. I own these speakers combined with an Anthem Str Pre and Power Amplifier. They sound great and I am very satisfied but I feel that they lack a bit of three-dimensionality and depth when listening to music. So I ask you for advice, also based on your statements on the matter, if in your opinion these speakers combined with the LAIV HARMONY Dac could improve?
Arendals had very wide and tall soundstage at my place but not a great amount of depth. A good R2R DAC like Harmony should maximise it as much as possible. But the reality is that I haven't heard Anthem preamp and can't give any meaningful advice about what would be an upgrade to it.
I guess there will be no extra costs within the EU as they are from Norway which is in the EER. They also handle VAT for UK and US their website says. But their may be additional import tariffs for these countries.
I do not know who holds the credit of the design but these are like the bigger brother of the Elsinore speakers. I built the mtm version of them and they sound really beautiful.
Pros - it sounds very neutral tonally and it is very revealing. Cons - with speaker this big you can't really do a nier field setup. So you can't avoid influence of your room which is very strong, especially in the bass region. There's a reason most mastering engineers use headphones or smaller speakers in near field.
I am planning to get Arendal 1723 tower s. I run b&w 702 s2 but i think i need a speaker that can handle a lot of pressure but at same time have good sound quality. Use one of their subs Arendal 1723 1s its high end sound. Not planning to replace the b&w just want another speaker for different listening purpuses
The 702 is a booring speaker compared to the Arendals. The 702 has no midbass at all, and they sound so boring with alot of music. U should def swap out ut b&w
@@chriss881000 i dont think the b&w is boring, quite the other way around exciting, but after owning them 2 years i have learn what they demand to sound at their best, you need a big amp for them they are very revealing speakers. The detail has really blown me away, the bass is good with a strong amp but proably not as much as deep bass as the arendals, the Arendal wont replace the b&w for me, but i am still intrested in them to see how they perform, 702 is the best speaker i owned in my room and with Hegel h390 they can even sound powerful,
@@andreasmoller9798 i get it, they sound nice and all, But I just dont like the midbass if them. I owned them for 6 months and sold them bec i like a little more slam ine the midbass. U should rly try out a bigger speaker next time if u are buying something new, like 2x8" or tripple. I "lost" so many albums with the 702 bec so many songs just sounded booring and lifeless to me. I had them paired up with a wery powerful amp to. At the time i rly regretting switching out my 603 for the 702 s2, bec the 603 had more impact for me. In the end i went for tripple 8", that rly did it for me, and they also sound more detailed than the 702's, witch i did not expect
@@chriss881000 i heard a lot of good stuff about arendal, i have no doubt their speakers are great after all i heard and my experince with 1723 1s subwoofer from Arendal is mindblowing never expected it so sound that clean, it has more than enough refinement to pair well with 702 s2, i bought it when i had my 702 s2 paired with hegel h190, i wanted more slam, the Arendal sub provide it, when i upgrade to hegel h390 the bass was a lot better in my 702 with that amp, but i would never consider it a bass heavy speaker, i also had 683 s2 before they was warmer and fuller sounding, but they are still not in same league, 702 has more resolution, more details, better cabinet, to my experince they can push to higher volumes than the 600 series, i am still intrested in Arendal to try them out to see how i like them, either 1723 tower s or tower, Tower s more likely as the tower might be to big for my room, even 702 s2 can full my room easily, so tower s would proably be enough, i had in my plan for while to try them but proably not going to try until sometime summer next year
@@andreasmoller9798 yes their subs get alot of good feedback. Never tried them myself, and never heard arendal speakers either. But what I was talking about was midbass, subs is ment for the low lows. I just find 6.5" woofers to make to little slam for me in the midbass. Im never going lover than 8" woofers again;) i was all about b&w before and loved the sound(still do) but then I finally listened to my local dealer to try out jbl, becouse iv said to him that i miss some good midbass. So I went for the jbl hdi 3800, ans never looked back. In some rewievs they even mention 702 s2, that the jbl is more revealing and detailed than the 702, witch is shocking for most ppl, bec the 702 is pretty damn detailed. I was pretty shocked to after selling my 702 and fired up my 3800 for the first time. I was ofc expecting less detail but more slam etc, but then I was rly shocked to hear that it sounded just as good and even better in detail.
how would this compare to a Dali Rubicon 8? wish you would have included a listening demo in this review❓I'm surprised this company sent them out to many utuber audiophiles to review without wanting them to do a sound demo...
I never heard Rubicon 8 so can't compare them. As for the demo, I did some of those before but it's difficult to hear anything that way... Think of it like this. If I am recording Arendal 1723 with my microphone and you are listening with a set of Monitor Audio Bronze 2 speakers... What you're hearing is 80% your speakers, 15% my microphone, and 5% of Arendal... If Arendal produce 20Hz bass and your speakers can't, you can't hear it, if it creates huge soundstage and your speakers don't, you can't hear it, etc. Only different tonality (dark, bassy, bright...) can be nicely heard trough the recording.
Has anyone had a chance to audition the Bentley Acoustics R-Line towers or their other models ? They seem like great 3 way speakers and their affordable.
It's with speakers as with wine. Some people believe they hear quality... or claim they taste quality. And the more expensive the speaker or the wine is... the better it sounds... or taste. It's a subjective way to convince themselves, they are experts and have the in depended abilities to decide, what's the empirical truth............😇
@@mikelanier5617 Both taste och music sounding is subjective and not necessary an expression of the price..! Which for ex. Sony showed with it's speaker SS-CS5. Of course you get more base with bigger speakers... but, the questions is.... is a lot(!) of base always optimal for music presentation..? Too much can drown the rest of the music. There are too few blind tests with speakers..!! You perhaps would be surprised of such tests and the result...........!??

WITH THE MUSIC SOURCE BEING RUclips, OR INTERNET RADIO, OR SPOTIFY ETC SERVICES - I DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY CAN PROVIDE EVEN CD QUALITY - ALL THESE HI FI STUFF IS SILLY...IF PEOPLE SPEND SAY 5000 $ OR EURO OR POUNDS - THEY SHOULD SPEND AT LEAST 5000 MORE ON MUSIC, CDs, SACDs ETC... I WONDER HOW MANY ACTUALLY DO THAT
Aside from physical media, Qobuz and Tidal streaming services both provide losses audio. Lowest is CD quality and hi-res goes up to 24/192. Most audiophiles I know use one of these two and if you have a good network player (streamer or streaming DAC) they sound fantastic.
I Really wanted to buy the Arendal 1723 Towers and centre channel but when I put them in the cart I realised two things, on top of the cart price I would likely pay 10% GST Goods and Services Tax plus potentially an importation tax (though I don't think so, I will check) and Arendal wanted $1,530 AUD for shipping charge to Australia. That would mean a minimum of $7000 AUD and I don't know how the Arendal trio would compare to speakers of a similar value bought within Australia. Having said that, your review is making me think maybe these Arendal speakers are not only comparative with commercial branded speakers of that price range but they sound much less of a risk given I'm not able to physically go and hear any speakers I'm considering buying? Cost comparison for locally bought options, plus up to $300 delivery all in $ AUD: JBL HDI 3600 Floorstanding Speakers $8,000. Monitor Audio Gold 200 5G Floorstanding Speakers $6,899.00. KEF R5 Meta Floorstanding Speakers $7,000.00 (currently ex-display option $5,600) What do you think?
Dont compare the jbl 3600 to the 1723. The 3600 is a MUCH smaller speaker. I have the 3800, and im still looking around. I feel i need a bit more bass in movies etc without getting subs
@@chriss881000 I been looking at the Bentley Acoustic speakers. They have FS150 and Fs200, and they just released their R-line speakers, and I really want them. maybe you should look into them
Let me help you with my solution to expensive full size speakers. You are accustomed to softer, unnatural bass with bookshelf speakers. It is my experience that 15" paper woofers make full, natural base. Even my 4' towers with dual 6.5" speakers have unnatural base. The average kick drum is around 22" diameter. My active subs don't sound natural either. I bought used Marantz speakers ($75) with 15" woofers and disconnected the tweeters and mids. My Emotiva BasX has a high pass switch (I think around 100 hz) and it sends lows to sub out RCAs. I plug in an Aiyima A07 to power the woofers, thus have tone control. With this setup, you can plug in any bookshelf speakers and place them the same as before. I use Danish Triad Bronze LCR MTMs because I found them for $100.
My tweeters sounded a bit rolled off so I was thinking how I might improve them. I had been in the "cables don't matter camp" but I thought I'd give it a shot. Sam Ash had 100 foot of 14 gauge professional speaker wire for $75 and 8 banana plugs were $25. Previously, I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken. This time I was completely wrong. News flash, pro wires are better than lamp cord. It was as if I added an additional dac just to the tweeters. They were no longer rolled off, more detailed, spacious, and transparent. Shocking. Since I bi-amp my speakers, the gauge is fine. I might go with 12 gauge for a single wire. I am so happy.
@@chriss881000 Cardas Copper for one. Oxygen free (or nearly so) copper is purer and yes, can offer sonic improvements you can hear in a good system (if you have good hearing). Using a lower gauge (thicker) wire can also improve things by lowering the resistance per foot significantly over 18-gauge lamp cord. Using good quality interconnects that don't create any PIM or bad discontinuities can be a good thing as well. Electricity is after all the flow of electrons and any information an electromagnetic wave contains. The less hindered that flow is, the better. Then you have better cables that are shielded. Not everyone needs such shielding perhaps but in noisy environments they can offer a nicer, quieter signal with a darker background. Snake oil? Not really. It can be heard and it can be measured. There's probably little difference between a $200 cable and a $2000 one, but there is a large difference between "lamp cord" and a $200 well-constructed cable.
@@rosswarren436 u just described most speaker wire out there. So u call pro wire ofc and low awg? Ofc copper is common in every store out there and ofc with silver plating. So ehat u call a "pro wire" is just a normal speaker cable

Keep up the great work
Such a great friend to send you these speakers to review. We all thank you and the sender for making this fantastic video possible.
Small ones can sound fantastic and when they do you want more! but they can't give you more 😞
As iiWi said here, high sensitive floor stand speakers have the ability to sound great at low listening levels making them excellent for home cinema/TV as well.
After a lot of reading and youtube watching about the Arendal I came to the same conclusion as iiWi - this is a pair of speakers you can build your system around. Time to get the instant noodle diet going and save up for a pair.
Yeah but you will also need a 3000 euro amp to go with them.
Thank you, publicly this time, for sending these puppies in for a review. I belive you're in for a great experience with them. 🍻
@@iiWiReviews I certainly hope so. Could you please share with us what gear did you use for testing them? Did you try to combine different types of amps and preams? Besides D class amps, I would like to try them with Sugden Masterclass amps or similar.
Hi I would like to buy these speakers but they dont ship to Serbia. Možeš li mi reći kako ih mogu poručiti?
I ordered 3 1723 monitors will use my 4 1723 s bookshelves as surrounds. I'm sure I will be happy. Thanks for your info.

Well, enjoy them, truly great speakers. 👍🎄🎄🎄
How is the midrange vocal characteristic? Is it lush or thin sounding?
Oh baby, these Arendal's were already on my radar. After watching your review it sounds like they belong in my house!
Ive had both the 1723 s bookshelves and the 1723 s monitors. The monitors definitely had better bass. Both sounded fabulous.
GREAT REVIEW! Articulate, descriptive, and informative. Your English is exceptional and I wish I spoke a second language as well as you. (Heck, I wish I spoke English as well as you!)
Thank you! 😃
You can't lose with the 1723s

They are very revealing speakers and you will love them as I do.
I don't have much to add to the conversation as such, but I just wanted to say thank you for another brilliant review! 😁😁😁
Was considering r3 meta. Are the arendals fatiguing in the highs? No sub needed?
What makes them the preferred choice vs the kef meta?

TRhey are an EASA award winner in 2021!@@chrisfromoh

Thank you for your review. You always do such a great job on your reviews. I aways feel your reviews are honest and detailed on how things sounds.
Excellent review! Your rationale for buying stand mounts over floor standers is exactly the same as mine. The only floor stander I ended up keeping in my room are Magnepans.
I love your reviews . They honest and most helpful .
Glad you like them!
this is the most enthusiastic review of the sound quality of all other reviews ive watched . the other reviews emphasized the build quality but said polite but unexcited things about the sound . even this review as good as he is at vocalizing the subtle , did not seem to be all that excited about the bass or
the soundstage .
However, still on my Go And Listen List .
I have always wonder how my Arendal speakers stack up against KEF R or Focal Aria. You covered both! Thank you so much! Now I can sleep soundly at night knowing I didn't make a bad decision haha.
Inspiring review; these went to the top of my shortlist! :)
Have a look at Philharmonic BMR towers. It uses an MTM design with a woofer that goes down flat to 25 hz. 20hz in room
I want to thank you with respect to your comments about cables I went and buy the Atlas interconnect that you recommended and that made a fantastic changein my system so I changed all my generic cables including AC power cables with atlas brand .Thanks again for your suggestion.
Glad I could help and thanks for sharing your experience. 👍

Thanks for sharing that info.
Maybe Arendal should state this on their website. I'm surprised they include shipping at all given that the speakers are so heavy. I do understand that shipping outside EU and north america would be a different matter when it comes to delivery service and insurance cost and procedure.
I have the 1723 S monitors and will be keeping these for a long time.

Please help your brother from Republika Srpska to build his system "for life". Thank you! :D

@@iiWiReviews Thanks a lot for the reply. I really appreciate it. ✌️
No new good hifi can make old thin bad recordings sound better. Use DSP or a multiband equaliser to adjust.

@@peterlarkin762 BTW have you ever tried to build a system to do this like I have? And if so what products did you use?
Very nice job with your review.
After watching your review i am not supriced arendal is that good. Becouse i own 1723 1s subwoofer not boomy just well controlled and tight
Hello, nice review. What do you think about this arendal vs Klipsch speakers?
I do not know who holds the credit of the design but these are like the bigger brother of the Elsinore speakers. I built the mtm version of them and they sound really beautiful.
MTM design has been around for 50+ years. It's usually considered that Joseph D'Appolito perfected it and popularised the most.
Which cables would you use for these speakers ? :). I am interested, because i just bought them and i want to optimize them as much as possible :)
Hi, what is your room size, in which the listening session was conducted ?
4.4m x 7m
Absolutely top review! Very 👍🏻

Thank you. I've been looking at these.
Nice looking speakers. Any experience with kirksaeter?
very nice review thank you a lot
How do they compare to the Klh model 5
I just believe this guy. He comes across as very legit.
What is the tube DAC you mentioned? Are there plans for it somewhere? How do you like it?
It's my DIY version of Lampucera 1.0 from Lukasz Fikus (Lampizator). I will be making a video about it sometime.
What would be the pros and cons in using these in a home studio for mixing?
Pros - it sounds very neutral tonally and it is very revealing.
Cons - with speaker this big you can't really do a nier field setup. So you can't avoid influence of your room which is very strong, especially in the bass region. There's a reason most mastering engineers use headphones or smaller speakers in near field.
Is this better then Klipsch RF82 II?
I am planning to get Arendal 1723 tower s. I run b&w 702 s2 but i think i need a speaker that can handle a lot of pressure but at same time have good sound quality.
I was just wondering if you ever had magnepan speakers in youre set up?
No I haven't.
how would this compare to a Dali Rubicon 8? wish you would have included a listening demo in this review❓I'm surprised this company sent them out to many utuber audiophiles to review without wanting them to do a sound demo...
You mentioned that u built your own tube dac. Did I miss your video on that or is that something that you will discuss in future ?
I haven't talked about it yet but I will sometimes. It's based on Ficus' old design (the man behind Lampizator).
@@iiWiReviews Thanks. I would be very interested to hear more about it.. Cheers
Excellent
Has anyone had a chance to audition the Bentley Acoustics R-Line towers or their other models ? They seem like great 3 way speakers and their affordable.
zdravo. how do these compare to the polk r700 or klipsch rp 8000f ii?
Sorry but I haven't heard those so can't be of much help here.
Agreed audiophiles have anger issues when it comes to cables 🤣🤣
It's with speakers as with wine. Some people believe they hear quality... or claim they taste quality. And the more expensive the speaker or the wine is... the better it sounds... or taste. It's a subjective way to convince themselves, they are experts and have the in depended abilities to decide, what's the empirical truth............😇
I'm sorry you are poor and have hearing and taste issues. 😔 Good luck on a new job !
Waiting for your review about topping E70 Velvet with L70 combination for headphone stack.
Please compare it with d30 pro stack and also E70 ess stack.
Thank you brother.
Thank you very much for the video, how about the LADDER Bach?.
I've just started warming it up, haven't listened to it yet.
@@iiWiReviews I am precisely looking for a pre-amp, how difficult it is to find one.
These or Kef R11?
My next purchase!
Earned a sub.+like! Thank you!
Monitor Audio right there in Australia. Silver 500 will beat all of the ones listed in your post.
It'd be nice if you could get your hands on the just released Mofi speakers designed by Andrew Jones. They retail at USD3700. Thanks!
I have Paradigm Founder 120H. Check them out.
I have those, great speaker
9:35... Go get em!

Maybe you should do a speaker cable blind test...?
Maybe I did already...

hope can find a high value Chinese brand "diamond in the rough"" speaker
What in hell is pro wire?
@@chriss881000 go ahead and keep using your $18 Amazon Basics and call it a day and be happy. LOL. Seriously "Passion for Sound" just did a good video on this topic about 6 days ago if you are open minded enough to watch it. E=iR.
