Agreed. That is easily my favorite pop off in smash 4 because of the emotion behind it, the fact that it's Esam ending the war, the stare at the crowd after, and of course the amazing camera man making it look just like it's an actual movie.
Literally replayed it for 3 minutes straight after it happened live.
Him facing the crowd with his tag facing the camera was movie quality.

Theories on why Ally and ZeRo were eliminated so early:
1. overconfidence
2. too much pressure on reaching the finals
Canned Water ZeRo had huge nerves and Ally just played like garbage on the third day. Which he admitted.
Canned Water I don't get why people get nervous. When I'm playing at my high school wrestling match, or when I'm at a smash tourney, Melee or sm4sh, I just don't care about what is going around me. There is no reason to be nervous is what one of my teammates said and ever since then, I just don't care about what's going on around. And, when I'm in the moment, I feel like it is just me and the other guy
Most of the people at Civil War were nervous most likely because of the amount of incredibly talented players.

NinjaX SSB Since Smash Con, Fatality has only gotten way better. You can see in his play that he isn't as flashy anymore, and makes better decisions. It is possible to do it again, he did at the most stacked sm4sh major ever

HaloDestiny077 A hidden boss is a good player that not many people know about. So in a tournament filled with top players or bosses so to speak, a top player that not many people know would be a hidden boss

Is there anything in the world that some of you people actually enjoy?
I mean Melee is pretty much dominated by Armada now.. but this tourney was ALL over the place with huge upsets and new characters/people taking the top spots

That's what I'm saying. Upsets are always hype, and it's not like they're so common in Smash 4 that literally anyone can pull one out. Zero's placing this weekend was absolutely unprecedented, and no one who follows Smash 4 would have ever seen it coming.
FWIW I like watching and playing both games. I appreciate Melee for its high skill ceiling and fluid movement, but I also appreciate Smash 4 for its larger variety of characters and the fact that I don't have to murder my hands to feel like I'm kind of competent at it. It really bugs me to see people being so negative and salty about either game.

of course melee is more consistent. people forget that the game is old and the meta is barely evolving anymore. Smash 4 is young compared to it and the meta has a lot of room for improvement.
I think that's because Sm4sh is still developing competitively

Can we talk about Locus's wins so far? He's beaten, Saj, 9B, Tweek, Mr R, Ally, Samsora, Shuton AND Nairo. I know a lot of people have been doubting that he deserved his spot in the PGR last season, but he's really proven himself.
And I think he was also in top 32 at one of the other sagas other than ZeRo saga and Civil war, not sure who he beat there.

Best Link in the world from Japan but doesn't travel much

Best Link was contested between him and Scizor, with T taking sets regularly off of top Japanese players, like Aba, Ramai, Some, Pichi, Umeki, etc.
But scizor plays just as good. After civil war, though, T is undoubtably the best Link, atm.
+JuSaKuO Unfortunately, players like T are highly skilled, but since they don't travel much, they don't get recognized very often. Its honestly probably one of the reasons he didn't make it into the top 50 PGR rankings, even though he probably had, and still has the skill to easily be a top 50 player.
He just didn't travel enough, but now a lot of people know who he is.

As a Link Main since Melee and part Japanese, T is like my Hometown hero. This is easily one of the greatest times Link has ever gotten this much visibility in ANY of the Smash games to date! I'm so proud of him!
As a link main, I was so happy to see that link win. He almost botched it but he kept on having that courage.

Also, ESAM's popoff was captured by the best camera shot of the entire event. Fatality seems to have really leveled up lately, and holy Christ suddenly amazing players have started popping out of other regions with incredible play.

+PhilTousi the nature of an upset is that top players lose to lower tiered/ unexpected players. Zero lost to Luhtie, who honestly was not even on the pgr. Would you laugh at Zero? No, because that's an upset and it happens to a lot of players. Dabuz is consistent and that is fact.
Edit: Also Fatality was unstoppable in this tournament, taking out Nairo and Kirihira(another Rosalina player who is really good). I think Dabuz deserves some credit for being able to knock out fatality.
Grant the Dragon that may be true, however ZeRo lost to xzax, an actually good fox main. I'm pretty sure fox/diddy is 50/50 so his loss is actaully undestandable. Luhtie is another story, however. Maybe we can put that on the nerves. On the other hand, dabuz had like, 1 or 2 mu that were close. MVD and Zack. Both could have pulled off an upset, and Zack almost did, but they didn't. So gg to dabuz for that. I am not saying dabuz is not consistent, I'm not saying he's bad. But I do think he could have had a harder bracket.
Dabuz is and will always be a god of smash 4, I am not denying that.

The most hype aspect of this Tournament was not just that so many Low/Mid-tier mains made it into Top 32 and even Top 8, but that they absolutely MURKED so many high ranking PGR players! I was so stoked watching this Tournament! I do have to say, even though I respect how hard Dabuz worked toward winning, I'm sad Fatality lost to him, considering he beat so many top threats, including Nairo, Kirihara, so many in bracket, and even T, who defeated him in Winners, went on to 3-0 him in Losers Finals!! I really hope Fatality keeps up this amazing hard work, I would love to see him win a large event like this!

I watched all sunday, goddamn I was excited the whole time.
I've always thought Link was underrated, he's slow but makes up for it with huge zoning, option coverage, combos, range, kill power, and nice weight to boot. He'd actually be broken if they made him faster.
Also starting to think Zer0 isn't as good as people give him credit for, he just earned the reputation using Diddy when he was OP, and Diddy's still top tier after some nerfs.
