    The oil problem has a solution, it requires an engine teardown thats why people dont bother to fix it. it is commonly attributed to piston ring wear since the piston was shorter than usual. Toyota fixed some of these engines under a recall in some countries and they dont have this issue till date. But above all as long as you always have a jar of oil in your car and check every week, the oil burning and dashboard issue is worth it because oil is very cheap and the maintenance cost is crazy cheap. The car ages beautifully well (i personally prefer it to the body styles from 2010 to 2019 when it lost its muscles), the engine is bullet proof and i am sure it will get you to a million miles.

      I think it's not about short pistons rather the rings are low tension nowadays especially from the 2007 2Ez engines unlike the older models. it has to do with emissions standards because low tension rings reduce drag and less drag equals to less load. But I agree with you that you can get a million miles if check and top your oil regularly or just maintain 3000miles oil changes

    You forgot to add it has a bad AC evaporator that doesn't last and leaks gas every 1 month, when it's due for a change. The AC evaporator doesn't last long. Secondly if for any reason you have to change it's inner shaft connected to the gearbox please avoid taking it out while the engine has been started, it's best changed when the car parks over the night. Before this you can also disconnect the battery, other than that it's a direct way to destroy the gearbox. Generally the car is really a good and reliable car, I have owned the 08, 09 and 011. Very trustworthy. ❤

    • @ekinematics
      @ekinematics Год назад +2

      The AC issue is not so common for 2010 and 2011 models. But you see 2007-2009? It's bound to happen, no running away from it.

    • @234drive
      @234drive  Год назад

      Thanks for that technical tip on the gearbox...please can you shed more light on why the gearbox is affected when you change the innershaft just around when the engine has been started ?

    • @victordaji6234
      @victordaji6234 Год назад

      @@234drive This is so because the inner shaft is directly plugged into the gear box, and the gear box is a piece designed not to allow air into it just like a car radiator, the moment air gets trapped inside it, it overheats, also stops oil from circulating properly through the leathers and valve body(with a 22pin gear box it's a NO, NO but a 13pin you might be lucky but with a very slim chance). This causes improper flow in transmission.
      Secondly when the car gets started before the change, it puts the valve body to play and sets the valve body in motion. The moment the gear box gets open after starting, it sucks in air and pushes out oil, thereby causing oil spillage and sending wrong signal to the ECU. At this point there will be malfunction in transmission within seconds or minutes if lucky. So it's best parked over night when the oil has gone into hiding or settled in various holes and sessions in the valve body thereby reducing oil spillage and change in gearbox temperature, also ECU do not have recent memory of the transmission. So it's best to disconnect the battery over night in order to drain out the memory on the ECU before effecting this change.

      Please does the 2011 v4 have the oil dry issue?

    • @victordaji6234
      @victordaji6234 Год назад

      @@davidibe3926 the drying of oil issue is mainly common with the 2AZ engine (4plugs). The 2AR which is also the engine in Venza (4plugs) doesn’t have such issue and 2GR (V6) also do not have such issues, yet all of these are the types of engines you can find in a Camry 2008-2011.

    One of the worst Camry ever made. This generation of Camry will go into the books as the worst generation of Camry because of the following:
    1. Bad 4 cylinder engine. Whether its 2AZ or 2AR-FE engine, they are oil burners.
    2. Melting dashboard.
    3. Very poor quality materials used for the interior.

    That's not true. Your information sometimes are false. You don't need double fuel in the same distance btw both engines, that is crazy.
    Sometimes saying the wrong information with a charming pleasant voice doesn't always do the magic.

    • @olatundeaboaba
      @olatundeaboaba Год назад

      I wondered the same thing, people that use the V6 don’t usually spend double, there isn’t actually much difference with the 4plug.
      Also her fuel calculation with the rate of N500+ per liter is very sketchy.

      Even as little as your car spark plug can be a cause, it can also restrict smooth and fast movement. When changing plugs buy the fairly used ones and not the brand new ones as the new ones tend to die out in less than a week in some cases.
