    My favourite car from that era. Own a 2010 facelift. Love it. They just do everything well. 152000 miles so far runs as sweet as when it left the showroom. Zero repairs just replacement of usual wear and tear items. Still good looking too IMO.

    Had a Sky Blue xle 4 cylinder with a beige interior got many comments on the color of that car, it glowed in the sun... Great car travel RN and used it for many miles and years to contract assignments... Never left me stranded.

    Not my favorite Camry in terms of the wrapper it came in(the silver on the dash looks like a cheap wal-mart boom box). But under the hood man did they ever hit a home run with that 3.5 V6 The times Motorweek posted are slow, most of them would rip the quarter mile in the low 14's, if you could get it to hook 0-60 in the mid-high 5 second range. It has the performance of a V8 with the fuel economy of a six. Punching it at low speeds or coming out of a corner, you can kind of feel that yeah maybe we are kind of pushing the limits on how much horsepower you can actually use in a FWD car, gotta have a firm grip on the wheel.

      Oh, believe me that interior was the worst, and the color came off of that silver pretty easily

      Definitely a bit of a sleeper with the v6, like 90% of Camrys have the 4 cyl

      @@JDMHazeI've dealt with hundreds of these never seen that problem. The early dashboard tops did get sticky in the heat though.

      @@motleydude73 A lot of the 2000s Toyotas around at 2005-2010 era Had that issue, the Yaris and the RAV4 especially… Although I had a 2011 Camry that I drove for 293K miles

      the dead grass and lack of leaves on the tree lead me to believe its likely cold outside. Cold all season tires don't grip as well as in the summer. Id wager they couldn't get the tires to hook up on the track and it cost them lots of time on the clock.

    0-60 for this Camry is motorweek inaccurate. It’s more like 6 seconds. 0-60 has never been motorweek’s strong point

    My parents bought a new 07 back in Fall of 06. It was fine until it got wrecked in 2012. Replaced with a 2010 Matrix that still runs great with only 90k. I almost bought a 2011 SE back in 2019 but ended up with a 2007 Accord that is also amazing.

    Can't say the new 2007 won me over. My wife had a 2006 SE and I had a 2007 SE for many years. Hers had less issues over the years and ended going a lot longer than mine did before we traded them in. Newer isn't always better.

      It seems this generation was the only one that had somewhat of a lower reputation. I see them all the time and I actually like the interior of this generation. I have a 2012 Camry and it is just better than the other cars in its glass except maybe the Accord.

    I rather for Toyota put a manual transmission from the CE I-4 in the SE V6 and the horsepower might go up slightly. The XLE top line is the one to have because of the rear reclining seats and the navigation system. And the 2.4 liter inline 4 is potent, but for a 2010 Toyota Corolla XRS with a manual transmission. Horsepower is ok but the 1zz 1.8 liter VVTi L have more punch and its rev happy for the Corolla S and Corolla XRS in the 2009-2010 model

    Vanilla bean ice cream....
    The only thing that's going for it is consistency. American makers keep flip flopping on what they make for a mainstream car,..

    • @donaldwilson2620
      @donaldwilson2620 10 месяцев назад

      The cheap looking interior was the biggest criticism of this generation Camry. Plus, the 4cyl engine from 2007-09 had some reported issues with oil consumption which I believe led to a class action lawsuit against Toyota.

      The SE V6 trim the one to have in red or blue with a sunroof, but I'll rather take the 2010 model because the fog lights were bigger then the 2007 model.
