Regarding the last make-over, when you said "Apparently I wasn't done killing this piece." I started laughing and the more paint you added, the more I laughed -- until the end. Nice save.
LOVED the remake of the green pottery piece with the joint compound. I remember you painting vases in an old video. I wish I could find that video again.
I just wanna say I ran across your channel a couple of days ago. I really wanna thank you for not using trendy, thumpy, electronic music in your background music. Your channel is a pleasure to hear and a nice relief on my head and ears. I really enjoy the projects too. :)
Watching you persevere when plan A (B,C,D etc) didn’t work gives me much more inspiration than “perfection “. All “perfection” does is make me want to give up. You make me want to try more things, even if it takes six attempts to get to my vision (or something else!). Thank you.
You definitely have a gift from God, it's amazing how you can create such beautiful items. I also loved how you "goofed" but didn't give up and made something so amazing. I was telling my husband yesterday, how so many DIYer's make a mistake but keep moving forward to make some awesome when I make a mistake on my mother-in-law's present, lol.
Despite all your issues with that candlestick, that's in between aged look with green undertone is practically perfect for my decor! I will definitely be trying to recreate that, probably with a tiered tray. It has a very "temperate rainforest" feel.
Oh, my gosh. All of my projects look like the final one...before the grey paint!! Thank you for showing this. You are so real. Smiling and laughing.🙂🙂💙💙
Wow, you totally saved that candlestick. Awesome. It's encouraging to know that even you can sometimes not get it right the first time, but boy, what a save.
The candle holder turned out really nice. I was laughing when you said you weren't done killing it and you kept layering paints, but you didn't give up and it turned out beautifully.
The pot turned out perfect! Oh my goodness love the idea of pushing the moss through the slits in that tin container, that was such a good idea! Lol all the paint on the candle holder, hey the final product is beautiful so worth all the effort!
I thought it was going to be the vase, which I really like, but the candle holder at the end really spoke to me. I am going to keep my eyes peeled for something similar to redo!
Wonderful! You did a great job on all of these makeovers. Thanks for keeping it real and showing how you salvaged the last project. Looking at the final result, nobody would ever know.💕
You crack me up! I was laughing so hard over that poor little candle holder. Pays to have several back up plans. Everything turned out beautiful! You are so talented!
I was cracking up at 19:20 onwards when you were doing the many paint overs. You torchered😂 the poor candleholder. 😁🤣. The project ended up looking great, and it was my fave.
Hola!!que lindo tu vídeo!!me sorprendió ver ese recipiente tan bonito!,que diga arroz en español!,que linda!!un gran abrazo amiga latina desde Argentina!😘😉🌿💙🇦🇷
I love all of them... I think the vase & the last candle/vase holder are definitely my favorites. As always Yami great job turning someone else’s trash into beautiful high end treasures! ❤️
All of your projects turned out soooooo beautiful! Thanks for sharing your struggles as well as your triumphs. Here’s a tip for your spray painting...find (or buy) a turntable/lazy Susan. Put a board on top of it and your project on top of the board. Now you don’t need to touch your piece to turn it while spraying it!
I personally would have left the vase alone as I liked the color and design. I liked the end product so well though that I would like to try on something I think needs done. My favorite was the flower arrangement with your and your explanation on how to do the flowers makes me want to try that as well.
My absolute favorite is the Potterybarn style urn. I wish you'd have a couple more and put them in a group. But all your makeovers are fabulous... even the poor candleholder 😂!
OMG... that had to be the funniest DIY project I've seen in a long time! Of course that would happen to some of us, but to see you going over that candle holder with paint after paint after paint, knowing in your head it wasn't working, yet continuing as if you couldn't stop yourself, was hilarious! And... as Laura mentions below, your line "Apparently I wasn't done killing this piece", made it that much funnier! Oh, I've been there! I thought you might actually just pitch it, but amazingly, you brought it back around for a stellar finish. So so funny. Thanks for sharing!
I loved how each thrifted piece came out! The "jug" turned out so cool looking, loved the arrangement and the "olive" looking type basket once you painted it to look metallic. The lamp is gorgeous and I love how the "problem" piece came out in the end and the laundry tin is perfect for storing bulk foods in! Hugs, Brenda
I’m just laughing.... because I totally loved the greenish patina color you had before you painted it the grey! 🤣🤷♀️😍 to each their own! Glad you stuck with it.. those are the projects that wear us out. 😬😁🤦♀️
Thank you for doing this thrift reflip! These are my favorite types of videos! My favorite was the vase, BUT you had such a time with the candleholder, and succeeded in making it BEAUTIFUL, I think that you just kept on doing and doing to make it a lot better looking. This is as my favorite part of the video!! Thank you for doing this and showing us that if we keep doing and not giving up, the outcome is worth it all! You did a great job with everything!
I liked the red basket with the change and flowers. Please keep giving little tips as you go. Thanks for sharing "issues" problem solving and getting the piece somewhat saved! Great videos
Oh my goodness you have amazing patience!!! You were making me laugh out loud at the last piece!! I would have thrown it away after the third attempt but you made it look amazing!! You have such a good eye for what looks beautiful and what something can become!! Such an enjoyable video!!! Well done!!
Love them all. Here is a little history behind the candle holder. Southern Living at Home had a direct sales catalog company. That candle holder is from there. I was a consultant for 4 years with them. The glass part is food safe. I have the candle holder myself. I use it for pens and pencils next to our home land line telephone and family calendar.
The jug was my favorite. I loved the way you used the white stuff (sorry, can’t think of the name of it) made the jug look rugged. I absolutely loved it!!!
Everything turned out beautiful Yami (as always)!! You had me giggling with you on your narrative through the candle holder project! We've all been there!🌺
I so loved it all!! You had to go through all the frustrations of the candle holder to get to your new found painting style/method! If I ever doubt myself, I always paint with the sides of my brush. Thank you for sharing it all!💞
Watching this video again and saving the video to make myself !! Just watched Ginger Chick use joint compound to two lg vases and a pair of massive candle sticks. She also used her fingers to apply the compound to create a rough surface where you made yours smoother. I like both the smoth and texted methods equally. You both are awesome !!
Yami, you transformed everything and made them all look amazing!! I love the urn with the texture and the candlestick at the end!! SO refreshing to see that you make mistakes too!! You did an Amazing job on it in the end!! Love ALL of your crafts!! Thanks for sharing!! 🥰❤️

Hi
Regarding the last make-over, when you said "Apparently I wasn't done killing this piece." I started laughing and the more paint you added, the more I laughed -- until the end. Nice save.
😂 glad you enjoyed it! 💕
I love that you show your thought process, mistakes and all.
I loved the first and last one best! Absolutely gorgeous! We all run into crafting mishaps. Yours turned out great in the end. 🥰
I am loving that Rice Box! Really neat find!
I was definitely stoked when I saw it!
LOVED the remake of the green pottery piece with the joint compound. I remember you painting vases in an old video. I wish I could find that video again.
Love that you showed the project that didn’t turn out right the first time! Gives the rest of us more confidence!
I just wanna say I ran across your channel a couple of days ago. I really wanna thank you for not using trendy, thumpy, electronic music in your background music. Your channel is a pleasure to hear and a nice relief on my head and ears. I really enjoy the projects too. :)
Thank you for showing your process of figuring things out! It's encouraging that even the "pro's" have those days!
Watching you persevere when plan A (B,C,D etc) didn’t work gives me much more inspiration than “perfection “. All “perfection” does is make me want to give up. You make me want to try more things, even if it takes six attempts to get to my vision (or something else!). Thank you.
I like the Pottery Barn vase dupe my favorite.
It definitely turned out like I had hoped! 🥰
Love all your makeovers, mistakes and all. You are so talented to be able to do what you do so well.
Boy that candle holder gave you a run for your money but you persevered and conquered. You found a new technique that worked. Great DIYS 👍
It was definitely something else!!!🤣🤣🤣
Despite all your issues with that candlestick, that's in between aged look with green undertone is practically perfect for my decor! I will definitely be trying to recreate that, probably with a tiered tray. It has a very "temperate rainforest" feel.
I love the "galvanized" with green moss poking through. It reminds me of a live wall. All the projects look great!
OMG such beautiful projects. Even if the candle holder gave you a problem. The outcome was gorgeous. You are so talented
I appreciate it! 🥰
I loved the candle holder especially when the bug was gone. 😃
The candle holder turned out really nice. I was laughing when you said you weren't done killing it and you kept layering paints, but you didn't give up and it turned out beautifully.
I appreciate it! It was a heck of a fight 😝🤣🤣
The pot turned out perfect! Oh my goodness love the idea of pushing the moss through the slits in that tin container, that was such a good idea! Lol all the paint on the candle holder, hey the final product is beautiful so worth all the effort!
My favorite was the urn. It turned out so beautiful. Tfs
Thanks girl! I love that one too!
I appreciate the fact that you share your FAILS. Means a lot to me--it’s a learning process! BTW, your voice is so calming. I could watch for hours!!!
So glad you were able to save the candle holder. But your voice over gave me a laugh 😂 “ and noooo I kept going”
The vase was my favourite tho
I thought it was going to be the vase, which I really like, but the candle holder at the end really spoke to me. I am going to keep my eyes peeled for something similar to redo!
The green vase was my favorite. Your projects always look so professional. You are indeed gifted.
That vase is awesome. It looks exactly the same and I bet for 1/10 of the high end price.
Wonderful! You did a great job on all of these makeovers. Thanks for keeping it real and showing how you salvaged the last project. Looking at the final result, nobody would ever know.💕
Yay! Thank you so much! I’m always happy to share a “flop”! 🤪

Just beautiful!!!
Definitely the pottery piece.
I felt your pain in your struggle with the candle holder!

Thanks so much 😊 So happy you enjoyed these makeovers! They were fun to do!
Thanks! I actually have one. I just can’t find it. 🤣
I liked them all... but honestly that last piece, that took you many layers of paint, is my favorite!!! I absolutely love it!!! Tfs!
I personally would have left the vase alone as I liked the color and design. I liked the end product so well though that I would like to try on something I think needs done. My favorite was the flower arrangement with your and your explanation on how to do the flowers makes me want to try that as well.
Glad you liked the flower arrangement tips! 🥰
So appreciate the projects that don’t come out and the process of getting it right, loved the vase! Blessed and safe days!
Thank you for the giggles...I laughed harder with each coat of paint on that stubborn candle holder : D My fave was the first project.
Loved all the DIY’s but my favorite was the candle holder at the end. I think it turned out beautiful.🤍
I liked the last one because it reminded me of some of my projects...frustrating but in the end successful.
The base was my favorite but loved the way the candle holder came out and all the decisions you made along the way lol 😂
My absolute favorite is the Potterybarn style urn. I wish you'd have a couple more and put them in a group. But all your makeovers are fabulous... even the poor candleholder 😂!
This was so much fun! Surprising what people see in a piece they pick up while thrifting. I love the red planter.
It was a tie between the first one and the lamp but I love them all!
Loved them all but my favorite was the first vase. I also liked the arroz container.
I really like how the green with flowered vase turned out he did a great job!

Thank you! I am glad you got a kick out it! It was a painful process, but I was happy to see it through!
I like them all. Good to see I'm not the only one who has to repaint something over a few times to get it like I want 😊
Whew! We all have those kinds of projects 😜

Love them all. Here is a little history behind the candle holder. Southern Living at Home had a direct sales catalog company. That candle holder is from there.
