- Sooo van life is STARTING... again! I guess this is the beginning of van life (part 2!)
This week we sell my two babies- it's hard. really hard. I still can't believe my Mazda3 is gone. I'm selling everything for van life... Let's hope it pays off! ALSOO I include a little van tour of my new ford transit!
I can't wait to begin my solo van build series with this 2020 ford transit on this channel, you have NO IDEAAA!
As a solo female traveler, I feel like it was the best decision for me to make and I'm beyond happy that I did, despite how difficult it all was. This van conversion is going to be FREAKIN AWESOME you have ZERO CLUE how much time I've spent planning it out!!
ABOUT THE VAN:
It's a used 2020 Ford Transit 250 with 51k miles. It's also got the long wheel bas (148") and medium roof height!

You go girl! New Subscriber here. I am a solo urban vandweller and I love it. You give up a few commodities but it's doable. I wish I would of done it sooner. My family thought I was crazy. Now they are telling me how smart I am. I will be celebrating my 2-year vannerversary in May. I look forward to watching your journey.

Oh, that's too funny! My husband and I finished the purchase of my Yukon on my birthday! I always teased him that he missed a big opportunity by not putting a bow on it! Also, that's amazing! You'll be FAR more prepared to take care of your new van because you had the old one! Not to mention the confidence that came from everything you did with your old one. That will help immensely when it comes to talking to mechanics. Also, while I GENERALLY prefer GM the Ford Transit specifically has a solid reputation compared to its peers. If/when I upgrade being able to stand up inside will be a major consideration. For now though, I'm going to test out the whole idea in what I already own. The biggest two downsides to mine is gas mileage and the lack of "headroom." (But I CAN sit completely upright on my bed/couch combo) My biggest advantages are that it drives like a regular passenger vehicle and has 4wd. I have been curious how those transit type vans drive, thank you for talking about that! Which roof height did you actually get?
I got the medium roof height, and I'm 5'2 for perspective. They honestly feel like you're in a SUV! Not hard to drive AT ALLLLL

I understand the emotional attachment for your car but it's healthy to let go and move forward. Take it from me ,I love vintage and would collect things. No more,I have some things that I kept,but no more attachment to things.
Can definitely understand the emotion behind selling your first car 😢 I still drive my first car that I’ve had for nearly 10 years and looking to sell it soon to help with buying a van.. going to be emotional saying goodbye for sure - it’s got me through a lot and never once broken down!

Honestly I’m living off savings right now and RUclips is beginning to generate me an income, but my plan before was to just pick up gigs house/pet sitting on apps like wag or rover and pick up seasonal jobs (like being a camp councilor, working for national parks, etc)🙏🏼💖
