The original _PotO_ starts in D minor and ends in A minor. His cover starts in C minor (2 semitones down) and ends (after an odd key change for the last verse) in F minor (4 semitones down); so that one’s not a “1 octave challenge”.

The most impressive thing with Tommy is his range. He has a stunning voice all across the spectrum. But you have yet to experience his talent as a musician. I suggest you to check out his cover of Helloween’s Eagle fly free or Over the hills and far away by Gary Moore.

Tommy has more hours a day/week than the rest of us have! His main job is guitar player in Swedish metal band Sabaton and if that wasn't enough he has 2 other bands as well plus he uploads a new cover on his RUclips channel every friday! When Tommy begins to sing here he pretty much does it in the same key most people who do this one ends! His range is out of this world completely insane he as a man can go higher than some ultra sopranos can!

@@AsiaandBJ The light 20 year’s celebration is a VERY good suggestion from Finn., it’s a a re-recording of an original song from Tommy (written at 14 first recorded at 18) that song and rendition totally knocked my socks off when I first heard it (to be fair .. it still does 🤣🔥😱)

Tommy is the guitarist for Swedish Metal band Sabaton. The drummer of Sabaton is Hannes Van Dahl, husband of Floor Jansen the lead singer of Nightwish. Tommy helped Floor with some (or all, not sure) of her recent covers on youtube during the pandemic!
Not entirely true.Tommy did make music for some of Floor's covers, but he had nothing to do with her album
Tommy also has his own band called Majestica (formerly ReinXeed).

"You Raise Me Up" is a song composed in 2001 by Rolf Løvland and written by Brendan Graham. It was first recorded by Secret Garden, in collaboration with Brian Kennedy. Although the original version was not a major hit, the song has since then been recorded by more than a hundred other artists, most notably American singer Josh Groban in 2004 and Irish group Westlife in 2005.
I love Tommy .. this song though I think is just what the labeling says .. a challenge . I don’t think Tommy took it up an octave because it would get prettier that way .. he did it because it was fun 😀 ( the covers are a creative outlet between Sabaton and Majestica .. something he can do at his own choosing without syncing with others .. since he does everything himself)
Tommy did an outstanding job here .. I myself love to hear a bit of Tommy’s lower range in his covers (it’s lovely) so this one just lacked a bit in that respect ( funny enough) I love “the light “ and “tell no tales” which are really high but they bring a little bit more contrast in range or roughness )
Tommy has a f2 to c6 recorded vocal range so he is a baritone, tenor and soprano in one 🤣 … but he is so much more than that .. personality and humor just radiate from him in every single song .. not to mention the multi instrumentalist that he is ( guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, flute and also learning the accordion)
But Tommy fans are a diverse bunch .. not all like metal .. some hate pop , some love when it goes fast and heavy .. some love the cheesy songs from the 80th and some are just music theater fans . Tommy brings a lot of people to the same live chat every friday .. and that is great ☀️
