      @@oceanblues7 for sure. Would be really fun to see. I really don’t like blitz games. Would much rather people have a little time to make better moves rather than constantly worrying about the clock. But you’re right, I assumed too much in my comment based on how Alex had outplayed Gotham 3 times in a row but lost to time - which in blitz - that’s a big part of the game - and Gotham was better at it, at least in this small sample of games. I hadn’t really looked at their rapid ratings, so if they are the same, well, they would probably match well. Idk. I’m a 1250 player and I can’t even begin to get into the minds and skill sets of people at their level.

      @@basedbear1605 of course -- yet, it is completely neglected in the evaluation of positions! Which is totally incomprehensible to me. It definitely influences what should be considered the "best move" in many occasions.

      @andrewwilson9123 11 месяцев назад

      @@M-F-HStockfish is not human. It can almost instantly play top computer moves, so the eval bar is what Stockfish vs Stockfish would result in, not what two humans playing the position would result in. Hence in some cases blunders being called brilliant moves without the human understanding how to follow up, or in this case, humans playing the best moves, but running out of time as a result

    • @M-F-H
      @M-F-H 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@andrewwilson9123whatever stockfish plays is obviously a computer move but not necessarily a top move. In limited time analysis computers "often" miss the best move (e.g. Solution of a puzzle) . In computer chess tournaments they have limited time (more than a few seconds!) per move and their strength varies considerably depending on the time they can use. So even for "stockfish against stockfish" it matters. But I was indeed thinking of human chess. I repeat that imho the remaining time is an essential information for the evaluation of a position.

    Alex, when you play speed chess, time is the most important factor of the game. You never have a "winning position" in any of the games that you guys played. You were losing in every game. When you evalue a speed chess position, the most important factor to take in consideration is TIME, and when is enough time, then the material and activity of pieces etc, are what gives you the win. Winning is winning and the guy who wins is the better speed chess player. No excuses.

    You're obviously a great player, but, you may need the extra time of added increments, say 3m 5sec to fully realise your full potential and win. That's after watching the first 2 games, so perhaps you actually win game 3 ? I'll see now, routing for you Alex.

    I really like your channel Alex!!!! I think you and Levy played really high level chess and I got a bit disappointed that the games were decided by time. Anyway great performance by both of you!!!

    It's not easy to find even a 3 move mating net under that kind of time pressure, especially when you're worried about the pinned knight and losing that piece. But I have found that in most cases if you have a discovered check that is also a double check, it will result in something very bad, if not devastating, for your opponent. Alex, you are a great chess player, teacher and super-entertaining. I am thinking, that like myself, classical is your forte.

    The chess spoke itself. Banzea crushed Levi. Should it be a 5min blitz, results would reflect that.

    How fun to watch two of my three favorite chess YTers! Levy is a very strong non-GM for sure. But overall in life you get the win for being a cat person, showing you are more evolved than him with his dog. My other fave chess YTer is GM Smirnov.

    They both make great content but Gotham is a bit more punchy and I like that. Alex is more "you play c3 and it's like being a piece of toast talking to a penguin about the mushrooms in their omelette", Alex get on with it I have some chess to play.

    good channels support the game and we all win. i prefer your content and teaching method but i still watch his channel on occasion (maybe not so much anymore). it was disappointing hearing him attack you with the thug mafia approach. i guess it proves that gotham has gone to the way of the joker goons and he thinks it's cool... but the rest of the world sees the city is a mess getting worse. what a shame

    Levy translation: "You're cutting in on my territory and taking some of my scratch away." I guess $2000 an hour isn't enough scratch for Levy.
