I'm joining the Air Force wanting to do Dental assistant! I'm so happy I found your channel! Definitely helps me get ready. I have had so many questions and you answered them all! Thank you for posting these videos on it. Btw you are freaking gorgeous!!!!
On several of the Air Force websites in the career section, it says that one of the qualification for Dental Assistant 4Y0X1 is "Completion of a minimum two-year American Dental Association-accredited degree awarding Dental Hygiene program." Is this something you had to complete beforehand to qualify? I feel like most of the videos from others who have this career did not have to have any sort of certification. I'd be interested in doing that schooling, but that would push basic out at least another 3 years or I'd have to choose a different #1!
@@Aaaalliyyaah i have another question, ik it may be a odd question but do you think this applies for the x ray tech the air force offers, ive spoke to a recruiter and he said i needed some college classes to apply for the job before hand. and i was thinking about your comment how i may not need the classes however it would be better. so my question to you is, do you think i need those college classes before hand or it would not matter as much.

I completed BMT and tech school as a DA as well! The process was smooth, very fast-paced as you mentioned. I’m trying to become a dental hygienist on the civilian side, do you think we become registered DAs with our experience through the military?
Congrats and welcome! You can become a hygienist through the Air Force and a CDA. To do hygiene you have to be accepted into the hygiene program and meet those requirements. For CDA (it’s almost like RDA you can look up the differences.) you should’ve taken the IC and radiology danb tests. If you passed both all you need is chair side and you’ll have your CDA!
I have a question for my daughter. she is going to finish high school in 2024. She wants to be a dental assistant. Does she need the associate degree in dental hygiene before qualifying to be the dental assistant? or she just have the high score to get the position and study the A.S. during in the active duty?
Thank you for making this video! Are there a lot of dental assistant jobs available in the Air Force? All over the website it says the civilian jobs equivalent are dental assistant and dental hygienist; which job can I get in the civilian world after tech school? Thank you for your service, ma'am!
Reese Orr thank you for watching! I’m not sure exactly about how many dental jobs come available, but I know medical jobs can be hard to lock in (that’s just from what I hear) I don’t know if that’s factual. Being prior assistant, we did not clean teeth, however, when you become a senior airman in the airforce you go to Prophylaxis training and you can clean teeth. Not as extensive as a hygienist. As a civilian, you’d be a dental assistant but you can get an opportunity to be sent to school to be a hygienist.
