    The only thing I don't like about this tool is the fact that I didn't buy it sooner.

    Going on 4 years as a diesel tech with this model as my only 1/2 inch impact wrench and I am continually amazed at what this thing can do. It punches far above its weight class knocking off bolts it has no business even attempting. It also has been dead nuts reliable too I haven't had a single issue nothing not one blip of a problem whatsoever and it has been through the ringer to say the least. I can't wait to see what ryobis mid and high torque can do once I decide to upgrade. That's a hard decision though because this model gives me alot of reasons not too just yet

    1st- 120 Nm which is 88.5 ft-lb
    2nd- 240 Nm which is 177 ft-lb
    3rd- 400 Nm which is 295 ft-lb

    So I was wondering how much torque was applied at each setting and couldn't find it listed anywhere. So my buddy and I did a test with a digital torque wrench and came up with these results. On setting 1 it reached 61ft/lbs of torque. Setting 2 it reached 182ft/lbs, and of course at full power it would be 300ft/lbs so we didn't bother testing at that setting.

    I only wish Ryobi would make a lightweight 3/8 impact wrench in this 18v line, with 3 speeds. I've been using their 1/4 hex impact driver (P234G) with an adapter for automotive work... it's fine but would prefer a dedicated lightweight tool. I wouldn't even use the big battery. 100 ft lbs would be fine! Though they'd probably go 125

    • @chengliu872
      @chengliu872 5 лет назад

      One reason they might not sell one it that 3/8" impact sockets are not widely available. I rarely ever see impact sockets any smaller than 1/2".

    • @HalfdeadRider
      @HalfdeadRider 5 лет назад

      Plus there are adaptors for 3/8" sockets, mine also came with a 1/4" hex adaptor so no need to buy their impact driver, just be gentle when doing these jobs. I'm also going to but a 1/2" chuck adaptor so it will also be my new drill.

      @@reallyhappenings5597 Well I know that Ryobi, Rigid and Milwaukee are all from the same manufacturing company which is TTI. And it is not to put either rigid or Milwaukee down either here. They more likely use better materials in the product. I used to learn as a machinist over here. Ryobi is great for those DIYer's like myself who want to do things and learn with their tools. I love Ryobi, and not to knock on this tool or anything, but they need to step up their game with the power of it. All of the other tool brands have electric impacts that can put out much higher than 300 ft/lbs of torque on a similar battery system. If Ryobi can design a brushless one that can even just put out somewhere close to even 800 ft/lbs just to possibly keep costs down still (if they can give it more power than that while keeping the price fair then awesome) I would definitely be all in on that

    I have/had the older P260 version, and it died a couple weeks ago while pulling apart a car. It lasted for several years, and was decent, but the number one complaint I had was with the battery coming unseated after use.
    Has this been addressed at all in the new version? It seemed like the prongs in the handle would vibrate so much against the battery that they would arc and create carbon traces on the battery contact (kinda like the old school slot cars or model trains) and I would need to clean the battery contact often.

      +BenzSUV In out testing we used the 4Ah battery, but I think with the compact series you would still get to 300 ft lbs or at least very close. As the battery wears it may drop faster. Since it's been on for some 100k miles, i'm sure it will take some more torque to remove it. i think you are right - there isn't much difference from a power output stand point between the smaller battery and the 4ah one - it is just that it lasts longs.

    • @WorkshopAddict
      @WorkshopAddict  4 года назад

      88 ft lbs is nothing and one would not need a breaker bar to remove that. if you are rounding lugs over, are you using the right size socket? SAE or Metric? This is not a powerful impact, but 120 ft lbs and below it is reliable.

      @gabeborscheid3828 8 лет назад +1

      +lardtamps Torque the lug nuts, torque wrenches are cheap, you want consistency and impact guns won't give you that. I recenlty put my Wife's tires on loosely using my impact gun pneumatic set for speed 2/3 and barely touched the trigger to put the nuts on planning on coming back to use the torque wrench to tighten them to 100 ft-lbs. When I went back to tighten the nuts about 3/5 nuts were above 100ft-lbs. So I had to loosen all 5 nuts and start over. They do sell torque sticks, and I will probably buy one just to get them tight to say 80ft-lbs then come back and torque wrench them to 100.

    Uhhhhhhhh: "We were able to tighten down to 300ft/lbs?" You really obviously did a substantial amount of additional tightening with the torque wrench @ 4:20, which clearly moved the nut significantly before clicking. I'm starting to get why other channels make it clear that they're not sponsored, not given free tools and other bribes, etc. I don't know you're deal so I won't question your motives for doing so, but I now know that you will neglect to mention very important things like: I tightened that nut with the torque wrench quite a bit before it clicked, therefore there's no way it was at 300.
    Glad the gun easily removed it though. Hope you actually had it set to 300.
    Thanks for the review.
    Ps: just fyi you gotta give those guns 10-15 seconds to develop peak applied torque. And if you wanna be more clear next time about what you proved, just say that it did indeed REMOVE a nut you tightened to 300ft-lbs, as that part was true (and that's all the gun is really claiming to do?)
