    Hi Greg. Totally agree about these bows. They are amazing! I bought the longbow first, then about a year later bought the recurve limbs, and now I basically have exactly what you said...two bows depicting their characteristics. I too, highly recommend them. Thanks for the video.

    Hi Greg. Thank you for the comparison video. My last long bow was a glass Pearson bow from the 60's.
    I see so many folks in Europe that love their long bows. I want to try one but I don't want to spend a lot for it on the chance that I don't like it.
    The Black Hunter Long Bow is the answer.

Im a little confused on the spine part still, is 60-65 the same as 600-650? Is it a American/European thing like imperial and metric? I was advised by the longbow department that for a 60lb longbow with a 30 inch draw, that 60-65 spine would be the best. I also tipped them with 125gr zwickey eskimo 2 bladed. Do you think my arrows will shoot fine with my bow? • @3DArchery
      @3DArchery  5 лет назад +1

      I would say yes and no. It does not matter to a point and it only matters to a point. It all comes down to how accurate or should i say consistent you want to be.
      As for an ambidextrous archery, you are talking to one. I have several videos of me shooting back and forth switching sides.
      I do not believe in the dominant eye stuff. My whole life I have been switching sides. It is just something we lefties do.

      Ash Merch I have an ember that I bought at the Baltimore Bowmen Traditional Classic from LAS. It’s the same bow as the Black Hunter. It’s just got different branding. I have some pretty expensive bows and I absolutely love this thing. You will spend a little more buying it from LAS but it comes with their awesome customer service. It will be coming to ETAR with me this year for sure.

    so the quick shooter ....stunt shooter Lars Anderson.... he says you should have your rest on the same side as your string hand/draw hand. Says that's the ancient way to shoot. Combat shooting when archers had to be quick and accurate to stay alive. I know you shoot right or left handed. So.... have you ever tried that? Or messed with that any? He is quite the archer.. fast and somewhat accurate. I've seen old paintings of ancient time... when army's of men went against one another... History says that's the way they used to shoot. Any thoughts on that?

    • @3DArchery
      @3DArchery  3 года назад

      Not too sure what you call or consider "History". In Europe especially, the arrow was shot off the finger more than the thumb. Speed and accuracy was not so important in battle. They used massed archers and massed volleys. The purpose was to break up formations.
      Yes, I have tried it and did not like it, The sight picture was not what I was use to or for me, one that promotes accuracy.
      I'm not into historical archery, just not for me. More power to those who are.

    Hhhm ive not seen 25lb limbs advertised for that bow, all the sites ive seen have said 30-60lbs only 🤔. Hopefully this is a new developenent 😊.
    Have you measured the length of these bows Greg ? They are advertised as 60" in both forms, I have just bought the long bow version and it is definitely not a 60" bow. Strung or unstrung its just about 1/4 longer than my 58" Bodnik Slick Stick 🤔, and the bodnik string fits it too. I'm intrigued as to why its called a 60" bow !. The bow itself shoots just fine but it is a bit loud, ive got string silencers on it now which have calmed it down quite a bit but ive still got some experimenting to do to get it as quiet as the Slick Stick or my Epic Hawk take down recurve.

      @@davewebster6945 the problem for me is that I have a 60" recurve now but I don't like the string angle at full draw (can't get the fingers quite right) ... I was looking around for a 64" bow ... I bought the longbow black hunter on an impulse (heck it's almost free) thinking that 60" still won't be worse than what I have ... however if it is actually 58", I might have an issue ...

    • @davewebster6945
      @davewebster6945 5 лет назад

      @@lubossoltes321 I suppose all you can do is try it and see how it feels. I used to get finger pinch with my 62" recurve and it used to mash my index finger against the arrow (mediteranean style) when using a tab and would eventually cause the side of the finger nail to grow with a split in it 😑. I started using an old leather shooting glove that someone had given me and suddenly I wasnt getting the pinch and the problem with the finger and nail 👍. I can now shoot shorter bows without a problem now using that shooting glove 😎.
      Dont get disheartened by the length of this bow as it really is a very good bow and it shoots very well indeed 😎.

      Those are not accurate statements. They might have been years ago. I have tested long bow V recurves for s on a decimeter and found them to to be the same decibel level. What they do have is a different tone. But they are equal in loudness.
      As for draw weight, Long bows like the one I tested as just as fast due to the reflex /delfex limb design.
