I really love your videos Greg!! im contemplating a stick bow just for fun!! I used to have a recurve when i was a kid !! You are a great archery teacher my friend!! You have a gift as im sure you would make a great archery instructor!!
I have the same exact bow with draw weight of 50lbs however i was not sure if i bought the right bow but after watching this video and review i can breath a sign of relief. Even though I am a beginner shooting for past 2 months I think I was shooting great with it with more consistent result , the more I practice and build strength the better I was getting. Just last week I split am arrow with this bow and shoot 8 arrows inside a coffee cup at once. I still shoot inside a coffee cup with more consistent result but I only shoot one arrow at a time don't want to spilt any more arrows. Now you have officially passed this bow over samick sage I am very happy. Thanks for the review on BLACK HUNTER.
Currently shooting mine with 35# limbs. 31" 500 spine fleedwood carbons with 175gr points. Shoots very well for me. They also fly great with 40# limbs on it.
I just got my first bow in the mail yesterday. I am off work tomorrow and plan to spend the day learning to shoot and tune it out. Just noticed as I watched you shoot, that your a fellow lefty.
Sharp bow. Sage has it beat in my book strictly because of versatility. This bow has absolutely no options strictly bare bow. Nothing wrong with that! Simply less options for a beginner to use. It is a buetiful riser! I'd use one.👍 Sage is now made by gallaxy and is available in the elite model which also now utilizes the limb alignment pins for the more streamlined look. Great review Greg love your straight up honest reviews!👍
I have a Hoyt compound with all the bells and whistles for competition. I used to fire pistols on the range, which you held in the right hand. So, when I took up archery, I held the riser in the right hand and drew back the arrow with the left hand obviously. And folk said, oh your left-handed. I have this day ordered a 30lb recurve Black hunter, so I enjoyed this video, for as you see, as he is a left hander. It cost me in US $147.00 or Australian dollar $216.00. Bow, arrows, quiver, carrying case ect. 4147
I really like your shooting and testing different bows, it is fun seeing what is out there for trad shooters. Nice looking bow, make for a nice target bow, seems like a nice bow for the price. I think I'll stick with my Sage though, and if I recall with the Sage you were nailing the center of the targets out of the box without needing any tuning, I like the looks of that Hoyt quiver, have I missed you doing an evaluation on that?
I have the Mandarin duck longbow version, and the timber ridge version, I bought about a year ago and I love them. I've been shooting traditional archery off and on since I was a kid and for the money the three best deals I have found are the Black Hunter, the samick sage, but the best one that I have found for the best shooting most forgiving is the Old Mountain Mesa longbow from 3rivers. Great video and shoot straight 👍👍
Shot this bow for a while and loved it. Sold it for a wooden ILF so I could pack faster, but it was so good. Glad Greg made this review (despite me being slow to watching this vid).
If you like this bow you can buy it directly from the manufacturer on Alibaba or AliExpress for about $60-$80 and no, it’s not a clone It comes in a left-handed version also. It’s great.

With this quality at that price there's no reason anyone interested in archery can't get involved. I love mine and will probably grab one or two more. You could literally buy 6 of these for the price of most bows all in different draw weights and longbow or recurve limbs.

I'm sure they can probably add the inserts for a stabilizer or whichever you want. Seems to be a pretty sweet shooting bow. You can put a limb mounted quiver on it. Your horse is well trained doesn't move at all when you're shooting. I have steered quite a few people to Samick Sage but I do believe you're right this is much better as a starter bow, it's more refined and looks more comfortable to shoot than a Samick. I’ve killed multiple deer with this same bow in 60#. It’s actually tagged more deer than my bear takedown. I do tend to shoot the black hunter more, wish they have 70# limbs for it but that’s just me being petty. It’s an amazing bow

I bought a 40# version with the bamboo hybird longbow limbs from another vendor almost two years ago. I found the form, fit and function to be excellent, save one caveat; my draw length is a solid 29-1/2" plus and I do feel some annoying stacking at full draw using the classic three finger split. Certainly not a deal breaker, especially at this price and performance point, but I do wish they had an optional longer limb kit available for those of us with ridiculously long arms. Perhaps some enterprising bowyer will step up and fill an aftermarket niche, assuming longer limbs would work with the short riser.

In this case of "takedown bow", "takedown" needs to be joined as one word or hyphenated because it is acting as a compound adjective to describe the next word (bow).
These Bows are made in China. The Original Brand is from „Mandarin Duck Bows“ You can get These Bows also with Hybridlimbs. I own 2 of them in 30+35 lbs. And i payed 80€ for each of them. Realy super Bows, even with my drawlength of 30“. No stacking, fast, forgiving.
I know a few guys that's been shooting these bows a while year before Mandarin Duck sold them. Mandarin Duck is not the ORIGINAL maker or seller of these bows.
Interesting but not surprising. I've noticed many items made by the same Chinese manufacturer sold under different branding, not just archery equipment. Trusting the vendor is the biggest concern for me, life isn't perfect, how is the customer service after the sale. Beautiful bow by the way.
Mandarins Duck is just a vendor. The original Black Hunter is made by Junxing. Since then several other companies have been making and selling clones of it.

No really, that is why.
I’m very happy with mine, a work horse,
In this case of "takedown bow", "takedown" needs to be joined as one word or hyphenated because it is acting as a compound adjective to describe the next word (bow).

So out of the entire video, that was your takeaway? Okay then.
These Bows are made in China. The Original Brand is from „Mandarin Duck Bows“
You can get These Bows also with Hybridlimbs.
Aaaahh. Ok. Didnt know that.
Interesting but not surprising. I've noticed many items made by the same Chinese manufacturer sold under different branding, not just archery equipment. Trusting the vendor is the biggest concern for me, life isn't perfect, how is the customer service after the sale.
Beautiful bow by the way.
Mandarin Duck isn’t the original, it’s a great bow though.
Junxing produces them
3d season is upon us!!!😁👍👍👍👍
its made by a chinease company called manderin duck great bow company
Mandarins Duck is just a vendor. The original Black Hunter is made by Junxing.
Since then several other companies have been making and selling clones of it.
In case you get lost in northern Germany give me a call. I'm going to pick you up with cold beer in the trunk 👍
You would have a much better arrow cast at 40#!!
