Thank you! I love playing Lars, as his "flow" is super satisfying to me. I wish Dev's had given our boy some better / more versatile attacks through frames, but this is an amazing guide and really helped my understanding on mixups and using heat to better pressure the opp. nicely done!
Oh I'm gonna be coming back to this video often for sure! New to Tekken and I'm taking my time learning it so this is gonna help a ton. Absolutely wonderful guide!
Woah I feel like the algorithm just reintroduced me to an old friend. I remember watching your videos a lot way back in the Street Fighter x Tekken days. It's good to see you keeping the channel active brother. Keep it up. This video will definitely be useful for me
d/b 1,3 (Low, High) also goes into LEN, however it's -1 on hit. Still worth keeping in mind, it's a fast 2 hit string that's gonna be hard to react to unless you're being predictable.
Yeah, you're right. I also don't love doing DB1,3 cause it's Low-High, and gets launched by good players, but I like DB1 as a low poke on its own. Thanks for watching!
Oh that's true. I've been auto-piloting as a bad habit but I have to remember there's a big difference between a 12f crouching punish (often just a ws4) and a full launch. I should hold back on the followup more often.
One thing I found out yesterday is if you heat smash at the wall they are only -9~ -7 depending on the wall situation so they can still rage art if you are using DE 2. Out in the open they can't. If you use DE 1,2 it beats everything it but it's a high.
I know it's not the best move to use but he also has another natural counter hit heat engager from db 1+2 into den 1, 2. If the first move counter hits, everything else is guaranteed no matter what
As in, DEN1,2 is guaranteed after counterhit DB1+2? Cause I know that DEN1,2 is a Heat Engager. But if that's a natural CH combo, I'll need to test it. Cause I'm not aware of that.
You are amazing, my lars is stuck in garyu, and I am looking for help on how to get better, Thank you for all of your tips, I learned a lot 😊. Is it possible if you watch other lars players and show us your thoughts on their strategy, like LmG mob and KaizokuLars? Maybe a reaction video? Other than that, Thanks for the nice tutorial, I needed that ☺️
I'm happy to help. Thanks for watching. I sometimes give my thoughts about other Lars players while I'm streaming, but I could do something more in-depth if there's interest.
All the set ups from ff1+2 on block are the same set ups as db1 on hit. 1,2 and df1 are also backdash set ups too. But I usually backdash into ark blast if I feel it. But I guess with this new heat back dash into 3+4 might be better lol
For those that don't play this character: SWL the SEN mixups😅 Only 2 options clip you...one it's obvious, the other I won't say(I don't want the Lars players to know😉)
SEN4 is the obvious tracking move, and SEN3+4 will also track sometimes. Did I get it right? 🤔 Haha. I'm not shy about offering counter play, I often tell people exactly how to deal with Lars.
Is the CPU not mashing because the punish you picked is not the proper punish? I think I ran into a similar issue trying to practice At least I think thats why
I tested, and realized it's because your opponent is slightly in crouch when the Heat Smash forces them to block. So I have to set the CPU to do a crouching punish.
Yeah, I learned that afterwards. Luckily, my info still stands - if they mash WS4 or anything during your Heat Smash: DEN2 will counter hit them, and DEN1+2 will lanch them.
Some dash cancel I seen with Lars that you F3 then you have to either go up or down to cancel it and then re do it again for another dash , I think it’s suppose to be his type of wave dashing I just want you to maybe do a movement guide with him , because you explain stuff throughly and if you can Korean back dash too I would love to see a video from you for that

This was brilliant! So many tools I underestimated. Lars' Heat is a lot more versatile than I thought 🔥 Thank you JST 🙏
Happy to help! Thanks for watching!
amazing content, very insightful and i like the way you explain things
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching.
Bro i love the feel of lars in tekken 8 after playing him in tekken 7 for so long, and i just needed a mixup guide from him! So thanks man
Happy to help. He does feel amazing in this game.
So nice to see you playing T8. I've been idolising you since early tekken 7 days
Really appreciate these vids
Really? Wow, that's so cool to know actually. Thanks so much! And thanks for watching.

I hope so too. Thanks for watching!
Such a good video as always JST! Also, early congrats on 5k subs (while I’m watching, you're at 4.99k 🤣)
Thanks so much 😁 And yeah, almost there!
thanks bro - nicely done
No problem 👍 Thanks for watching.
Another day another banger
Thanks dude!
Unreal video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank YOU for watching.
you dont need CH on 1,1,1 to get heat, just 3rd one has to hit, unless we dont expect 1,1,1 to ever heat without ch :]
That's a fair point. Though I'd advise against just throwing out 111, since it's -13 (not -14 like in T7 tho!). Thanks for watching.
d/b 1,3 (Low, High) also goes into LEN, however it's -1 on hit.

Ah, that's interesting. Cause tbh there has been a few situations at the wall where I did Heat Smash but DEN2 lost to Rage Art. Good to know!

I just test it, and yes: it works. Thanks for the tip!

at 27:30, he isnt jabbing since he recovers crouching, the fix is to set the punishment from crouching in this case
Correct - I realized this afterwards, and luckily the frame traps I showed still apply. Thanks for watching 🙂
Just finding out that heat engagers give you more heat, than just activating it by itself. 7 months after release lol
As long as you know now?
Need more guide to watch
Lars heat smash puts the opponent in crouching state. which is why the cpu wasnt mashing bc you didnt set a crouching state punish
Correct - something I realized later on. Luckily, I labbed it afterwards and the frame traps still work!
This my main to love everything yu was sayin
Thanks for watching!
DEN 4 can also go to LEN and has the same frames as 1,4 LEN
True, thanks 🙂
DB1, 4 D also goes to LEN
Yep, it does. Thanks for watching!
Gonna use 3+4 more often I rarely ever use it 😮
It's really good tbh! Thanks for watching 😁

yo, JIN is not mashing coz heatsmash forces crouch, it works like that with all atacks
Yeah, I learned that afterwards. Luckily, my info still stands - if they mash WS4 or anything during your Heat Smash: DEN2 will counter hit them, and DEN1+2 will lanch them.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's a bit laggy and if you use it like a wavedash you will get killed.
@@ItBeVoltage tru but it could be a good way to make someone hesitant about what to do or whif a attack
@@osorose7167 it's a mixup, it can be useful but I didn't want you to just do it all the time and get punished haha
