I can chase and see 15 tornadoes before I would even attempt a winter storm forecast. They are the hardest to forecast, especially in the South. I still have PTSD from 9 days without power from Helene, so I’m glad I was over-prepared. Thank you for everything that you do to keep us safe!

sorry about the lack of winter weather for you man, i got super bummed out when our local news and weather (11 alive, fox 5, anf, and wsbtv) kept saying we wasn't gonna get anything but a .01-1/2 inch of snow. that's why i don't watch them no more cause winter weather is so hard to predict and they just don't know how to do it. they try, but if you rely on them they will get you stuck on the road in snowmageddon. i turned to youtube and look at models for myself, because they just don't deliver. you, Mitch, in particular are my favorite. I watch all your videos in winter time to see them long range forecasts and even though the fantasy storms may not happen, there's still that chance and this time was one of those chances that just so happened to come thru. hopefully we all get another good one. i'm praying everyone is safe and rooting for more snow chances. have a good day all.

Our little farm in TN is at the western base of the Cumberland Plateau. Drive up 500 feet to Cookeville east and 550 feet to Lafayette north. They get snow and we get NO. We got 2.5 inches. It snowed from 8am until 4 pm. Mostly fine snow almost at times as temp hit 32 close to wet. God is good. Our country road in hills at 11 am already melting and getting black again. Thanks for your work.

Southwest Michigan has had snow fairly often since December, there was a lull around Christmas but we haven't seen more than 5 inches at once. I'd love to get 8+ at least once before the season is over. Crossing my fingers! We got a good three inches yesterday, tomorrow/Monday we are supposed to pickup only an inch from the clipper moving in. Lake effect snow seems to be slowing down due to the lakes getting colder and more ice forming.

The map screams that my HVAC butt is going to be cold out there on rooftops and at houses. I just can’t bring myself to believe that Trinity/ Triad of NC will get any measurable snow. It’s gotten less and less since I was a child. I remember in (I think 2018) we had 12+ but that was a fluke. I can remember back in high school that they canceled school and the first flake never fell. I keep praying that we will get a good nor’easter that dumps snow on us. We got a decent snow here in Easley, probably got close to two inches of snow before it turned into sleet/freezing rain around 5 pm. The kids were able to sled for a few hours, so it was a success as far as I’m concerned. I know I’m being greedy, but I’d love to see another good snow this winter!

I live in Henry County and we got a good amount of snowfall after 7am. My nephews and I definitely had a snowball fight and my Brother in law joined in. And I slide down the driveway. That was a good morning.
We are not disappointed here in McMinn County Tennessee. I was temporarily stranded on a snow-covered road. The hill was steep. I eventually got back into the road and headed to the nearest gas station to wait for a 4 wheel drive to come take me home. It's the next day and I hope I can get back to my 2 wheel drive truck by 4pm today.

The snow was so beautiful. It snowed hard here in Hot Springs Arkansas for hours, heavy snow is probably my favorite weather condition. Ended with around 11 inches here. I hope Mitch got to see some winter weather.
Dude before you even said it I said to myself this looks very similar to the Texas deep freeze. During that time Memphis began with a freezing rain event followed by 2 heavy snowstorms only days apart. We had 10 inches on the ground when all was said and done. Wow. 😳

Regarding the question of my state's (Oklahoma) Southern creds, I often remind people with similar questions that if you draw an imaginary line through the state, beginning at its extreme northeast terminus, and extending to its opposite (southwest corner) terminus, parts south and east of the line were originally populated by Southerners and their families by and large, whereas parts north and west by northerners by and large. This is why at one time in the not-too-distant past, southeast OK was commonly referred to as "Little Dixie," with McAlester being called its capital. So, yes, many of us South and East of the aforementioned line consider ourselves as part of the greater Southland. :)

This winter storm was named Cora, as is my 2 month old great-granddaughter. In Mayfield, KY we got 5 wonderful inches of snow and had her out in it just long enough to snap a couple of really cute pictures. Our family and friends had a wonderful time getting together yesterday pulling people around on an old car hood behind a truck and pulling each other around on round, disc sleds behind 4-wheelers with homemade chili and homemade hot chocolate ready to get everyone warmed back up. Thankfully the temperature was just right for playing in. Last year, it was too dangerously cold to be outside for long so we didn't get to enjoy that snow. Today we're going to use real horse power to pull the little ones. 💖🐴🐎
We didn’t get but a dusting of snow, but I was happy for that. God finally answered my prayer for snow. I didn’t tell Him how much I just ask Him for snow.😊

We didn’t get but a dusting of snow, but I was happy for that. God finally answered my prayer for snow. I didn’t tell Him how much I just ask Him for snow.😊

6-7 inches in Norman Oklahoma. It’s wonderful, I’m from Colorado so I luv it. We got lucky. Don’t receive this in a whole entire winter most years.
