Thank you sooo much for this! I'm listening to the audiobook and I feel like I didn't totally grasp everything that happened. But this all made **so** much more sense in reverse. It's so fascinating too how Jordan leaves these little details that point to the world once being advanced like ours, considering that the oldest vision is actually the one with modern cities and things like "hoverflies" (which are clearly supposed to helicopters/planes.) I'm gonna have to listen to more of these conversations as I go through the series!
Thanks for this! It’s such impeccable writing. Hilarious cuz the Aiel are my favorite ppl LOL Couldn’t believe the women were getting taken away. That’s so sick. They were prolly desperate for wives and sht. So gross. The birth of the spear maiden was so obvious lol. When I first listened on the audiobook, I was like…when Rand steps forward, he’s going BACK right?! Cuz nothing else would make sense. Ty for clarifying that. And isn’t dayshaun or whatever the same thing they call Lan?
I'm doing my first read, and I finished this chapter a few days ago and my mind is still blown and if I wasn't hooked before I most definitely am now! Such amazing world building and history of the world, yet so many more questions and mysteries I cannot wait to learn more about both the past and the future of this story.
I think it's interesting that even with a whole episode, you were only able to do a reader's digest of it. This is Jordan delivering big time to the fans that were craving the back story of all this history. The mans vision was truly far reaching, this isn't a thing of minutes, this was planned since almost the conception of the story.
when walking through the spires, he was reliving time through his ancestors eyes. The ones who can't handle the truth die, those who can handle it, become chiefs. Rand's bloodline goes back to well before the Bore, and he is related to at least 2 channelers.
