Stuff & Things specializes in creating some pretty interesting AK accessories and conversion kits and their latest kit is the STizon magazine. The STizon magazine is a 9mm Luger helical magazine compatible with popular 9mm AKs like the PSA AK V, KP9, and Draco, etc. Each magazine is sold in two different magazine body configurations (clear polycarbonate or aluminum) and comes with all the necessary parts needed to convert your AK to use the magazine.

For those who want to know:
The CAI NAK 9 and 9S will hold 66-69 rounds.
The PSA AKV will hold 56-59 rounds.
The guys at STInc are still in the process of optimizing the followers, so the round count may change before final production.

Next year, Stuff & Things should show off an AK-74 helical magazine (just like the North Korean helical magazine).
And it'll probably work, cause as far as I know, there is no footage of the NK AK firing with that mag

The helical design is intriguing, and having options for clear polycarbonate or aluminum is a nice touch.
A solid one with windows/witness holes would be sweet also

Horribly impractical, throws the weight and balance off. Notoriously unreliable in dirty environments, harder to carry/pack multiple mags (strap several 2 liter bottles of soda to your IBA for the real experience) harder to manipulate, harder to reload. "Neat" doesn't actually translate into a useable product. I wouldn't have such a problem if they talked about it like the range toy that it is, but they dissect this thing like it's better than sliced bread. Conical magazines have been around for decades, but never seen widespread adoption. There's a reason for this.

@@joecentral-o9984 I have personally never seen a 9mm Calico jam, and I have 2 friends that own them and run cheap 9 through them and have no reliability problems (only accuracy). The 22LR Calico however, yeah never seen one run more than 8 rounds without jamming.
@@RedZeppelinAirshipI'm convinced most of the reliability issues people have with the Calico stems from a fundamental misunderstanding of how the magazines work. People either wind them up too much or too little and then are surprised to experience malfunctions.

299 is an absolutely fantastic price. I was so ready to hear they cost as much as the gun. Seems like that's usually how this crap goes. I would spend 300 on this all day long.

Removing rivets is real easy with the proper technique as mentioned (drilling the head)

That's badass. Would like to hear more about their printing process (what machines, material, etc) if they do end up using it for any production components.
We use Formlabs Fuse 1 and 1+ SLS printers in Nylon 12 and Carbon Fiber Nylon 11 for prototyping and some production parts like grips, mag extensions and even our bullpup kits.

rly wanna see an smg with two mags on each side.. you can load while mag dumping, just having the last round switch what side it feeds from.. basically, you can spray and pray until the barrels glows.

It's pronounced Stizon, not Stizon, even tho it's really close to Stizon. Just remember Stizon, with emphasis on the Stizon part.

With original Bizon mag is more expensive than Bizon itself,its a main reason Russia abandoned that SMG.

If you go off of Russian pronunciation of Бизон it'd be "beezon" but "baizon" is actually pretty apt for an English speaker considering it translates to "bison" which is typically pronounced in that way, so I'd say either works lol
