I thought I read somewhere that it was good to install the valve springs back in the same orientation (top/bottom) in addition to keeping them in the same cylinder position. If I can find that I'll add it to the comment as a reference. Great video.
You're definitely correct on this -- all of the valve parts should be stored as an assembly. When you have the valve out, put the valve seal back on and then everything back in the same order and orientation it came on. I should've been clearer about this in the video but a comment is quite helpful to anyone who may be wondering in the future. As always, thanks for your support of the videos.
#800-1735 from Z car depot is the actual Datsun Z valve spring removal tool. This uses the cam in place as a leverage point. This is The type used for years.
These are great! Quick question- in an earlier segment you mentioned the correct bolts to mount engine to the stand. We can’t locate that segment. Would you please let us know? Thanks
Jim Campbell hey Jim. Thanks for stopping in again. The engine stand bolts are discussed at the beginning of episode 3 (ruclips.net/video/7beTD7PuJhE/видео.html) and again at 9:30 of that video. If you have trouble finding the correct bolts, email me and I will send you some as I ordered a bunch in bulk and they have arrived. I just don’t have big enough washers in yet to sell them as a set on my website. mark@zcarguide.com
