Thankyou. It is about 40 years since my wife Ruth and I last sung this hymn in church. Sadly she died in 2021 and I now long for the day when mornings will once again be tearless. My last words to her were "See you in the morning", but she passed away peacefully while we both slept, so waking up alone is now the saddest moment of every day. I try to focus on that future morning when we will all meet again but I am very healthy in body and mind at 65 and could live to reach 100. Every night without her now feels as if morning is very long way off. The hymn is deeply moving but far too sad to sing or play on the piano. Oh Phil, your comment has me in tears. I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot express it enough. The world was never meant to include loss. God created us to be together forever! As I know you know. So it is very natural to feel so incredibly sad about the loss of someone you love so dearly. I have prayed for God's arms around you as you grieve the loss of Ruth.
