Here in Philadelphia, my 2 favorite restaurant Sang Kee on 9th Street in Chinatown, they charge $12 and at M Kee Restaurant it's $11. You make it look easy, but knowing me, I got zero patience. I don't know, I might have to raise the surrender flag on this one!!!! 🤔🤫😉🙃🤪🤪🤭 Happy Sunday!!
Snowing here in northeast Ohio USA. Our 3rd snow for the season. I live just South of Lake Erie East end of it, so we get hit pretty hard with the snow as well as you folks up that way
Nice to see other folks using a mallet too. Been dealing with arthritis for years and have been using my mallet for as long. What a hand and wrist saver 😊
Gonna try this! We used to always get our Wonton soup from a restaurant called (drumroll please!) The Won Ton House. It was one of Ottawa's oldest Chinese restaurants but sadly closed at the end of 2023. Your video has inspired me to make my own!
HI Flo & Dude!! Boy that looks delicious!!! Would be good now as it has been -27 here in kamloops!! That or chilli. ❤ we used to live in north van for many years. We just had snow only an inch, first all of the year.
Flo, thank you so much for this recipe. This is one of my favorite soups. You made it look so easy and I have all the ingredience so we will be having it this week. Here in the Midwest out high today was minus 8 with a windchill of minus 27 below zero. So soup is definitely on the menu. Stay warm love you guys. ❤
I made this with a batch of shrimp and ground pork wontons. I had everything except the oyster sauce (added ground chili flakes for lite spicey flavor), so I doubled up on the soy sauce (six soy sauce packs). Everything turned out perfectly and using Dude's advice... Wow, two batches of wontons worth a lot could feed the whole family plus guests, because this is just a side soup, very delicious.

LOVE your channel, Flo and everyrhing you make looks delicious! I love thin, delicate wonton and everyone near me makes them with a very thick and chewy dough. Guessing I will have to start making my own! Thanks for being such a great teacher!
I cannot wait to try this! Flo does make it look easy but with my dexterity...I'm only likely to get a few of the wontons sealed the first time but I will enjoy those few until I get better at it 😂
Yeah it also reminded me when my mom used to bring me to Chinatown to have Wan Tan noodles and plus the wan tan for sure. I always look forward to. I miss those days when she is around. Certainly i would try this recipe out and can imagine it is really good for a cold winter there. Thanks for sharing Flo, Dude. God Bless 🤗
I just got some from my local Chinese restaurant and I was like man I wonder how they make this... After seeing this video I really would like to make my own so I will come back to this video when I do that. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your take on the dish Flo.
Great tip on cooking the wontons separately! That may be why mine have never turned out like I wanted because the broth got messed up by the starch from the wontons! Have to try this.
Thanks so much my dear friend for another great video and some more great inspiration for the kitchen the wonton are wonderful and they look super easy to do and I think this one I’m definitely going to try
I love Wonton Soup. My cousin won't eat it cause 49 yrs ago her boyfriend told her they were wrapped Turkey Brains. Coincidently, last night I cooked some Wontons from Costco, and I added that same Chicken Paste to Pot. Warming up would be nice, it was -40 here this morning
Hear, hear. On a grey, cold day, this is an ideal, comforting meal that is relatively quick and easy to make. Especially if you make a few batches of wontons ahead of time and freeze them. Everyone will enjoy!
I would love to have you do the Chinese New Year menu. 🎉🎉🎉that would be fun to see so I can do it also. I've made several of your recipes and they were easy to do from the first time doing it.
Thankful we are going out this year but last year, I made the following, along with some peashoots, a fish paste & tofu dish and white rice: Crispy Pork Crackling Better than the Pork Belly - Air Fryer Step-By-Step ruclips.net/video/JTPt8xV_mks/видео.html Hainanese Chicken Rice for my Malaysian Dude - step by step ruclips.net/video/rGmERSKSETY/видео.html Beef Rendang Shortcut Recipe ruclips.net/video/XZPX1TRgXlE/видео.html
Can they be frozen - I’ve been looking for a homemade shrimp wonton that I can make and freeze and when we want wonton soup or war wonton - pull the shrimp wontons out and cook and add to our soup base. Thank you for the tip of cooking the wontons separately from the broth, I due appreciate this, as I didn’t know that. Again thank you for this great recipe ♥️
Hi Flo. I have a question. For the broth do you use toasted sesame oil or just regular sesame oil? I enjoy your videos. Good luck stay healthy in 2024x
I believe Asian sesame oil is always toasted but it doesn’t say that on the bottle and it’s the only sesame oil I know. Honestly, I’m not sure what people mean when they ask that question (you are not the only one). 🤔 Is there clear raw sesame oil out there that I don’t know about?
The packages I get are usually already cleaned. I don’t necessarily clean them more but if they haven’t been, I would. Shrimp are bottom feeders, so… you decide. 🤔
Wonton soup, potstickers, fried buns and Singapore noodles are some of my absolute favorite dishes. I quit buying wonton soup at restaurants because I believe they make those ahead of time and they sit in the broth and become gummy. So therefore, the wontons are ruined.
Simply delicious homemade shrimp wonton soup for any day. Happy Sunday! 💕
WOW

Hello Flo, what type of sesame oil do you use, toasted or un-toasted in soups?

Nice to see other folks using a mallet too. Been dealing with arthritis for years and have been using my mallet for as long. What a hand and wrist saver 😊
If you do t want to buy a mallet especially, I find using a big coffee mug to smash ginger very convenient.
I'm going to enjoy making this shrimp version. Thank you 😊

I'm going to make these with your pork lettuce wraps and rice. Delicious!
I love all your recipes, simple and clear explanations with delicious results. Cheers from California.

Thank you! I love wonton soup, as well as chicken and ccrn soup, sizzling rice soup, and, of course, congee (jook?).
Thank you for the tip about cooking the wonton separately so the broth does not come out thick. I like a clear wonton broth ❤
Happy Sunday Flo! Love wonton soup 😋😋
Delicious, thank you for sharing Flo.
Looking forward to giving this one a try. Thank Flo.
Comfort food ❤

Thanks looks so good.........to be honest, I have never had shrimp wonton before, I have always mixed my shrimps with pork mince etc, etc.
I had this for dinner today. Delicious!

Good point about not cooking the wonton in the broth (i.e. for keeping broth clear, and not starchy).
Yummy. Love this
Looks so good! ❤

In Hawaii you can have won ton soup or won ton min. Mostly the won tons were pork.
Hear, hear. On a grey, cold day, this is an ideal, comforting meal that is relatively quick and easy to make. Especially if you make a few batches of wontons ahead of time and freeze them. Everyone will enjoy!
I just made this for lunch it was delicious, frozen remaining wontons thank you😊
Flo this looks delicious and easy. You usually only get 3 wontons in your bowl of soup. Stay warm and safe.
Looks so delicious! I'm going to try this!
Yuumm. I love wonton soup!
Flo do you have a recipe for pork wonton
Can the extra wontons be frozen? Before boiling them or after? Thank you for all your videos!
I would love to have you do the Chinese New Year menu. 🎉🎉🎉that would be fun to see so I can do it also. I've made several of your recipes and they were easy to do from the first time doing it.

Mrs Lum, do you have any ideas for a vegetarian version. What could I put inside 🤔 the wrapper?
Shitake mushroom, woodear mushroom, black fungus, wombok and fried garlic. Season with soy sauce, pepper, salt.
Hello everyone Flo wonton soup is the best.
I also love the chunky bits of shrimp, instead of a mashed one 🥟🦐
I am looking for you chicken and cashew recipe... could you help me out? I want to make it! I love your recipes!!

So to get the wonton made with sausage, I need to buy your cookbook?
Looks delicious but I have a question: is it really safe to freeze unused wontons, as shrimp is almost certainly thawed from frozen?
Thanks! I don’t know if I missed it but can I replace the shrimp with ground pork? I became allergic to seafood last year :-(
Of course! Here is pork & shrimp recipe but you can sub all pork: Wonton Soup 雲吞 | Childhood Favourites

No music, just her talking clearly. My kind of videos!
I was taught to use egg whites to seal the wrapper
You can absolutely do that. I just didn’t want to waste an egg yolk.
Why does Dude remind me of Jeff Goldblum? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Jeff is Cool😂😂😂😂

Hi Flo, I read that when you prepare shrimp you should clean out the intestines before cooking. Is this really necessary?
The packages I get are usually already cleaned. I don’t necessarily clean them more but if they haven’t been, I would. Shrimp are bottom feeders, so… you decide. 🤔
😊 yum!
If you're feeling naughty, you can deep fry those wontons in oil. Crispy, golden and yummy!
I wanna see your cat!!!😂🎉❤
