Another problem dc writers don’t understand about John is that he isn’t a wizard. He shouldn’t be spamming magic like Dr Fate nor Dr strange. Anytime John uses magic, it should come with a cost big or small
What I appreciate most about this channel is that the creator spends the majority of time talking about the things he loves. Too much of the click bait stuff on YT is vitriol and hate. the thing i want the most out of a Constantine adaptation, apart from his looks and origins matching the comics, is that i wanna see him being smart, not just witty. I need to be surprised by his plans and reasonings, i need to see why he's such a pain in the ass to even the strongest of demons.

Constantine Series would be great! Would love to see Zatanna have her own show too, I just found out about this character and she is badass to say the least !
I wish they could almost due a Marvel Netflix show type thing with Zatanna, Constantine, and maybe one or two other shows in the grounded. You could even put in characters like Red Hood, Katanna, or Huntress who don't deal with magic, but would work nicely. Then they could do a Defenders style team up for Justice League Dark. Whether its a crossover event, limited series, or movie doesn't matter. Give these characters room to breathe in their own shows that are connected to the larger world, but not like hinging on cameos and are more so relavent if Batman needs a magic guy he goes to Zatana or Constantine. Other characters like the Question, the Spectre, and Deadman would make appearences even without their own show.
Constantine has had a live-action movie, animated movie, and live-action TV show. Zatanna has yet to have any solo project. And unlike Constantine, Zatanna could fit in a Justice League lineup.
i want a Constantine that isn't all powerful. he's magic Batman, he's an underdog with a lot of smarts. Zatanna, Fate, Etrigan... all of them are stronger than John, but if you must fear one of them, that IS Jhon

Constantine getting brought into the DCU would be a dream come true. Having his niece sell his jacket on EBay, and seeing the Devils Trench Coat storyline play on the big screen as a side story is something I hope eventually comes to fruition. I also hope the character appears in the Swamp Thing movie. The seance scene with Zatanna where her father sacrifices himself in her place would be epic to see get adapted to film. There are so many great things they could do with the character. I’m disappointed that something where he’s the title character for the DCU hasn’t already been announced.
If they WERE to do that, Gunn and the other higher ups better have Matt Ryan play Constantine again. I can't picture anyone else BUT him playing the role. Same thing with Mark Hamill being Joker, Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury or Ian McKellen as Gandalf

I would love to see a marvel/DC crossover where Constantine pairs up with nightcrawler and they go through a noir esque detective story where they clash with the juxtaposed theological belief systems
There’s also the Blackhawk movie that’s been in development hell since the 80s and Steven Spielberg chose to direct Raiders of the Lost Ark instead. Besides a Wonder Woman and Shazam solo movie that would help tie into the Gods and Monsters arc, that’s another DCU movie I hope happens sooner rather than later! Nando actually pitched his idea of a Zatanna series, btw.
I want another DCTV multiverse crossover so bad! And Matt Ryan could return as Constantine. They could make it an Elseworlds miniseries and release it between a long gap between DCU releases and include many actors from many DCTV shows like how Deadpool & Wolverine was the only MCU movie releasing last year and brought together many actors from multiple franchises! They could even retcon most of them into taking place in the same universe like Crisis On Infinite Earths! They can return once in a while like how The DC Animated Universe returned with a new movie or comic series once in a while!
Constantine is superficially a charming, easy-go-lucky, snarky comedian. But under the surface he is frighteningly cynical and pragmatic, prepared to make awful mindblowingly hard calls without a moment's hesitation. And under that he's a seething cauldron of bitterness, resentment and self loathing. The actor needs to be able to do all three. Charm you out of your socks (or out of your knickers if you're a reasonably attractive female) and just be great to hang out with. You need to see that he uses people, but kinda like him anyway. Then the actor needs to scare the beejesus out you in one of his stone cold moments. And finally, get your pity when Constantine collapses into a quivering pile of tears and excuses. All respect to Keanu, he seems like a wonderful person and he's really good at action. But he has the acting range of a boiled egg. And he can't do a british accent to save his life. I don't mind the movie, but I tend to think of it as "that movie about John's american cousin". Cheers, and here's hoping Gunn is listening.

Man I’ve been a fan ever since the tv show first started airing in 2014 and never looked back. I did end up watching the Keanu movie later on multiple times and have come to appreciate it for what it is but I viciously disagree with many aspects of that movies liberties taken towards John himself. Keanu got some aspects fine while others are just plain wrong. I’d be perfectly happy to watch a sequel to that as long as it’s not the only Constantine we’re getting and this version doesn’t become the DCU canon Constantine. Matt Ryan to me is what Kevin Conroy was to Batman. He IS John Constantine. I mean he introduced me to the character who has become my second favorite fictional character of all time just after Batman. Constantine deserves to become as big as the guardian of the galaxy and I think DC kind of gets that since they made him such a huge part of their animated universe even making him essentially the main character of their apocalypse war movie. Hellblazer’s influence is not to be understated. Supernatural was heavily inspired by Hellblazer and they even tried to include the man himself in the show and when dc said no they created cas and gave him Constantine’s look. An r rated tv show with no network restrictions or a true r rated comic accurate Constantine movie is needed as well as Justice League Dark where he inevitably fucks the team over in typical Constantine fashion. I also think a Constantine game could be amazing as well. I mean you already got the spells for combat and a dialogue system would fit the character well cause you could make some very morally grey choices a la Witcher 3 and it would still fit the character since morally grey choices would fit the classic Constantine who was really on the edge of hero to villain at times and the new 52 version is a little more of a reluctant hero who’s still an asshole.

Idk if it helps or hurts the sting of disappointment, but Guillermo Del Toro said he got the greenlight for Justice League: Dark and Pacific Rim 2 at the same time & he chose to do Pacific Rim 2 So on the downside, he didn't end up doing either. But on the upside, he still could 🤞
