I heard that china saturday night and it's the best for sure. So mean sounding. I loved the drums sound keeping it natural. I'm so glad Nic doesn't use only triggers. Unfortunately, for the headliner of the show Fit for a king, the drummer was so sloppy on the bass drum and the triggers were simply making it obvious. Again, I love Northlane so much. It was a surreal experience seeing you guys again. Last time was at a very small venue named Underworld about 9 years ago in Montreal. Thank you for keeping the great music coming. You guys are amazing
sorry about that, the settings on my pedals changed and i was having a very difficult time. it felt totally different than what i was used to. and triggers only accentuate that, so sorry for the sloppiness. i fixed them and the performance will be much better next time. cheers
Hey Nic, any chance you could elaborate what you mean by placing triggers on the toms into the TM6 Pro just for “gating” purposes? Absolutely love the rig run down!
Since TM6 is a drum synthesizer he probably has a trigger on his drum which sends audio signal generated by tm6 to FOH where a FOH guy can use it as a key that triggers the gate on toms which clears them up and lets only the tom signal to be played on PA without a noise from the rest of the drumkit. There are also cheaper methods to do this :).
There are other drummers like that. If you want to play flat (which makes sense) and you lean towards the kit a bit (which makes sense), then this all makes sense
One of my favorite drummers ever - blows my mind that he willingly uses Tama Iron Cobras. Tama makes some of the best drums ever, but their hardware is absolute trash compared to other options.
@@nicpettersendrums My bad dude, I shouldn't have said hardware in a general sense, and I should have put "in my opinion" in the end. Their pedals have just never felt great to me, and I've owned most all of them besides the Dyna-sync. I'm buying a new acoustic in the coming months and I'll buy some of the Roadpro hardware because of your recommendation alone =). I apologize for the shade! Excited to see ya'll soon.
Looks like he switched to power glides from rolling glides. I've played Tricks, Pearl Eliminator Redlines, and have Demon Drives. All that to come right back to Iron Cobra 900s. The build, smoothness, and power are just too good.
Perfect inclusion of Marcus to show off his gear
jon and josh taking peeks to fuck with Nic is golden
Absolute wizardry on display from Dylan. What a unit.
Dylan's an absolute machine.
1:13 idk why but i keep replaying that scene😂
Just the way Josh pulls his head back and Jon just phases back into oblivion 😂😂
I’ve waited so long for a FOH rundown from you guys!! 🥳😍
1:13 jon and josh committing a mild amount of tomfoolery
1:14 😂 I love this. Jon and Josh muckin around and Nic’s just so used to it and acts like nothing just happened
Poor Marcus, I seriously hope someone helps him load in his rig!
Yeahh waiting for FOH. So much processing with dsp, cool!!
I wish more bands would do this!! Absolutely love it!
Ok I think we need a 30 minute explanation video of what's going on on FOH !!
Josh be creepin at the start like always 🤣🤣
Thanks for making these videos. We nerds are smiling big time!
Great video ! When can we see an entire live on youtube of the obsidian tour ?
♥♥♥♥
Yesss, been waiting for Drums!
cant wait to go hard in the mosh in melbourne knotfest !
I really want to know more about the FOH stuff. I’m super curious about that touch screen that seems to be running Mac OS!
Holy shit, NicolasNorthlane has entered the chat
I don’t understand. But I love it.

Nic the WizzBang !!
Bit rude of Marcus to take so much time for himself
Dan Maio is a legend
What kind of touch screen is that, does anybody know? 🙏
Also want to know!
Actually I found it, it's the Uperfect portable monitor
@@MegaUltimateHD gg 👍
Fucking blitzlane!
WAVES TUNE LIVE...... Close.
Vocals?
where's the bass player?
Why is the drumkit/cymbals all angled so far forward? Its the strangest set up i've ever seen
There are other drummers like that.

why do you skip the bass section??
Yeah I was very curious about bass since I saw a tiktok of a guy fixing up the Dingwall basses they use on stage.
\m/
So odd that he points his cymbals away from him.
Vlad from Jinjer does it too. It seems more ergonomic.
Haha (1:14) what 😅😂 ?
I just saw them for the first time in Fort Wayne, IN and they were fucking amazing. They were with Kingdom of Giants, Alpha Wolf and Fit For A King!

Lol this is not true
Tama roadpro hardware is immaculate

@@BrandonMelvinDrums I will agree that the build quality has always been consistently great. Every model I've had has always been a workhorse.
