Your hair is so pretty! I just recently cut like 2 inches off my hair because my ends were really bad and I was experiencing breakage. A few months ago my hair was probably the longest it's ever been and then it just started breaking. I'm so sad but now I'm basically trying to "rehab" my hair and I'm not sure if I'm doing it right but I'm definitely taking some of your tips!! Sooo happy to have found your channel.
@@NiaraAlexis I used Miche peaches and cream deep conditioner right after. I will condition again next week. I'm so excited, girl my hair was breaking off off. I lost a lot of hair in the last 2 months. They thought of going back to a relaxer never crossed my mind since I decided I would never go back lol. Well I'm back 😃
@@dimmyinthecity and be sure to trim your ends or get a haircut! If your hair was breaking off there could be some damage there that deep conditioner can’t fix. Keep me updated! 🤗❤️
Hair goals! My hair did not take to relaxing. Broke off so bad. But man do I love the look of it. I think I need to go to a different stylist. What other tips do you have to keep your hair healthy? Do you take vitamins?
I don’t take any vitamins for my hair specifically. The one thing I credit is I give my hair a few months “vacation” every year from April to late august or September my hair is up in braids or twists so my hair gets time to grow & rest
You should look into Japanese thermal reconditioning or thermal straightening. It doesn’t break the bonds like a relaxers and the process rebuilds the bonds. Much safer on the hair because the chemical has a better ph and it actually gets the hair straight not kinky straight like a relaxer. Also it only needs to be done every 4 months to 8 months depending on how fast your hair grows and the texture difference
@@Meera436 The chemical used in Japanese straightening is the same as a relaxer. There’s no way to permanently straighten hair without breaking the bonds.
Sis, lovely results. I'm afraid I do use the box relaxers not yet brave to use Lye relaxers. Plus I texlaxed my own hair. Have you ever used Olaplex before?
Box relaxers are ok! Work with what you’re comfortable with. I have used olaplex before. Maybe I didn’t do it right but I don’t see what all the hype is about 🤷🏾♀️ if you up are looking for a good see conditioner try Pantene rescue shots. So good & affordable ❤️
Do you have videos of doing your relaxers? Would like to support more relaxer users. I use no lye relaxer as well it is a box relaxer and even my tricologist used it in the past. Nothing wrong with no lye relaxers. If you have sensitive scalp it is better. There are plenty of fact fibres out there to give you more information. However the con is that it does leave calcium deposits so you would require products that moisturise your hair. I use Olaplex it is great. You may want to check out cosmetologist Cyn Doll. She is knowledgeable and knows a lot about hair , right way to use Olaplex etc. All the best with your hair growth.
I'm going to shorten my relaxer time to 7 to 10 minutes. I think leaving it on longer is causing my crown breakage. I also like your 5 months of protective styles. I need a reset, and these are wonderful ideas.
Seen your videos from the past and man your hair has really grown!! It’s so beautiful. Genuine question. Is under processed hair a bad thing? I figured that’s better than over processed right?
If it’s your whole head that’s under processed I don’t think it’s that bad. It’s basically like being Texlaxed. But if you have pockets of relaxed then under processed or under processed & relaxed on the same strand of hair it creates a line of demarcation where the 2 textures meet & it’s super fragile & can easily cause breakage
Hey there. Your hair looks great. Do you use a rinse out conditioner or deep conditioner after hair color rinse or do you rinse off the hair color and go straight to leave in conditioner?
@@NiaraAlexis also you can try hairlicious relaxer method. That's what I'm gonna do when I need to relax mine. It's literally fool proof whether or not u hv help
🙃 No WONDER my hair self destructed. Because of COVID I started relaxing my own hair with box relaxers. Seeing how you do yours... I can't believe how off the mark I was with doing my own hair.😂 I'd do a touch up every 2-3 months and I would cover my ENTIRE HEAD with the relaxer (not just roots), and I kept it processing for like 20 minutes. I'd wash it out, blow dry, then put an absurd amount of this anti-frizz oil in my hair before flat ironing it. That was IT!!! It looked passable, but within a few days my hair would be "poofy" instead of bone straight. Which of course lead me to ironing it multiple times a week... not to mention I wasn't trimming it either... jesus. It eventually got sooo ridciously damaged it gave me such an ick I went and did the big chop. I initially blamed relaxers for how broken my hair gotten, but honestly - it was just me not knowing what the hell I was doing lol. I'm going to let me hair just breath and grow for a year before I straighten it again, but I'm definitely following how you do it when I do it again!
Oh no! Yes you definitely fried your hair. No problem though you took the right steps to correct it! I’d also try some Jamaican black castor oil. When I’m not relaxing my hair in the summer I use it on my scalp regularly and I see a lot of growth using it. Let me know if you have any questions!
I’m not really certain on my natural texture to be honest. And to get through my head quickly I just try to part quickly. It takes practice though I wasn’t always this fast.
After 13 years natural and unsuccessfully retaining length I’m going back to relaxing as of today. Your hair gives me hope!
Do what works for you! Oddly enough I feel like my hair is healthier relaxed
@@NiaraAlexisI don't think that's odd. I feel the same and people think that's strange.
