@@NiaraAlexishow do you handle shedding after protective style? I know shedding is normal but my hair sheds a LOT after having them in braids. I like to keep braids in for minimum 2 weeks, maximum 2 months
@@swisdom9117 I keep them in max 6 weeks. 2 months I feel for me is way too long. Shedding is inevitable but if you are experiencing a lot you should look at how they are installed
@@NiaraAlexis they're not tight at all. I hate cornrows but they're excellent for growing hair. My hair is pretty thick so I guess it just sheds a lot naturally. Gonna try rice water
Hi! I am learning so much from watching your videos! I recently relaxed my hair after being natural for 6 years and this channel has been my new guide to healthy relaxed hair. I did your loose waves last night w my flat irons and pin curled them before bed to keep my bounce and body. Thank you thank you for your amazing content and tips.❤❤
Omg thank you so much I have not had a relaxer since April!!! All braids, twist, crochet helps but, I have very thick hair and the NEW GROWTH IS REAL!!!!
If you don’t plan to relax again soon definitely keep your hair in protective styles. With that much new growth your hair will start to break off. This was just a one week west for me & I put my hair back into braids after
Been loving your videos lately. I went back to relaxed after a 2 year break and your videos have been super informative. I wanted to ask you: do you work out? If so, how to you manage frizz and whatnot (especially when the new growth comes in)?
Hi! So happy to help 🤗 I do workout but I don’t sweat much in the head & I wear my hair in braids most of the summer so it’s not really an issue. If I am wearing my hair out like this I keep my hair wrapped while I workout (I workout at home mostly) or I will put it up in a claw clip & wear a sweat band. In the fall & winter when i do wear my hair out I do low impact workouts aka I won’t sweat much if at all like Pilates & then on wash day I do my heavy cardio stuff cause I’m going to wash it later anyways. Hope that helps! ❤️
You are my hair twin, I love watching you! My last relaxer was Fall 2022, and I prefer to wear my hair straight or in a sew in. I’m transitioning back to natural. Thanks for all your tips ❤
6:36 how do you get the flat iron so close without burning ?or does that only happen when the flat iron steams from getting in contact with the water heat protectant?
I tried stretching for like 8/9 months and the breakage from it was devastating I kept everything the same far as wash days and products but the breakage won I’m back to me regular 8-10 wk stretch now
The breakage can be real the farther out your get. That’s why once I hit 5 months or so I put my hair up in protective styles. It’s usually around the summer time (which is perfect for me) so I just keep stretching it until fall. But yes I feel you the 2 textures are hard to manage which is why I just put it away. It’s also a nice little rest too with no heat/manipulation
@@NiaraAlexis once a week? I'm so paranoid about heat 😩 but seeing how strong and thick your hair still is, I guess it's okay for some people. Since I have thick hair too, it might work for me. But I'm too lazy for that lol plus it burns. I'll definitely try curling my hair next time with the iron though as flat ironed hair looks so flat on me
how can i handle new growth if i never do protective styling? I always use heatless curls but when it has grown it is difficult to untangle on washing days
There really isn’t a way. I don’t recommend stretching your relaxer longer than 4 month if you don’t plan to do protective styles. Otherwise your hair will be very hard to detangle and will eventually start to break off
Wowww....I am so amazing by ur growth..thank u so much fr sharing dear...very informative, I'm learning and taking so much from this kitchen beautician....love
No no it’s still my go to! I’m just trying this one because I have it. Will likely just swap them around. It usually takes me like an hour or so to straighten & like 10-15 minutes to curl
Your Hair has lots of body and very shiny. This stretch seems to be going very well for you!
It is! Thank you ❤️
Great tips!!! I am just about to end a 13 month stretch this month. Lots of growth and minimal breakage.
Oooo please share! How did you stretch for that long? Did you wear a lot of protective styles?

In the summer only once a month or so when I blowdry. The rest of the year once a week

This is a great video. Do you use two shampoos, one to clarify and the other moisturize?
Yes! One to address my scalp & the other for smoothing
Gorgeous hair!!!❤
Thank you!!
Once you relax your hair, do you have to continue doing it? I just relaxed my hair for the first time.
Yes you will have new growth at the roots that needs to be touched up

Is it a re-upload? I feel like this video has been posted at 3 different times now, or am I missing something?
She broke the videos up to teach and show different things…
Yes!
I did film all of it at one but tried to break it down to address different topics ❤️
