It would not be very wise to completely discontinue manufacturing our ATACMS...
What matters is that unlike field artillery these have both incredible range and accuracy and no barrel wear.

Yes, video guy pronuncing name wrong. I worked the warhead LAP from prototype to standard M39 Missles. Also the BLU-63 grenades it is loaded with.

Yes. But very short on supply as my facility was the only LAP facility. All production ceased late 90s on M39 ATACMS and its BLU-63 and BLU- 74 grenades as far as I know as we manufactured the late 90s. Each BLU item LAP. and tested at MAAP. Missles tested at White Sands test range.
BLU is abbreviation of "BOMB LOADING UNIT". ATACMS HAS 950 BLU munitions in each warhead.
And to think about it,today ? That’s the old stuff !

The cluster M39, BLU grenades, 950 each warhead will cover a football field area about every 6 ft. The BLU grenades are HE with incentrery effects.

Let's make this clear -Russia has no advantage over the United States. You can see that in Ukraine. Russia has a bumbling, stumbling, almost embarrassing military. They can't defeat an enemy that barely has an air force or a navy. China is in the same boat. You have to actually be able to fight and know how to properly use the weapons you have - not just talk about their technical abilities.
Russia’s military has never been competent they have never beaten anyone significant without strong allies. Even when they win their casualties dwarf their enemies.
But, how come Russia just shot down the ATACMS mid air in Ukraine? This is the US super weapon!

@@mbompenza7082 well, Russians fighting with shovels! Maybe those construction firms put up stronger fortifications than NATO could imagine 🤔. Somehow NATO has forgotten to send shovels, Ukraine has hardly any fortifications left and is loosing. Unfortunately shovels is too technical advanced for NATO!

I don't understand how in the final footage the explosions seem to occur at all different times. Given that all the sub munitions were released at the same time then surely they should all be landing at about the same moment? Fake maybe? 😂
No they fly in a different angle. It's like throwing a hand full of smooth pebbles. I worked LAP the M39 warheads and BLU -63 grenades system. Google both items for details not classified anymore .
