@@hartwickperformance I still think GM LS7 is far superior to this Godzilla engine and the GM LT1 is smaller, more easy to swap, lighter and better OHV than Fords OHVs. What Ford should ve done is make a 6.2l DOHC 32v V8 with Di and PFi. 550-560 hp, 460-470ft pounds torque. That wus ve been amazing.. this 7.3 is neither efficient nor as powerful.. @@1989rs500 The LS7 isn’t better. Smaller cam core (50 mm VS 60mm for Godzilla), smaller diameter lifters (lifters have always been an LS weakness), LS7 doesn’t have canted valves while Godzilla does. Oh yeah, and the LS7 can’t keep valves either.
@@1989rs500 And while I agree I would much rather Ford evolved the 6.2 Boss (which the Godzilla is loosely based on, they share bore spacing and journal diameters) into a PFI/GDI DOHC 4V aluminum block variant of 6.8-7.3 liters that would have easily dominated the naturally aspirated world it wouldn’t make much sense to build a ~700 HP high revving N/A V8 for the Super Duty which is what the Godzilla is for. Maybe the rumored 6.8 for is a variation on the Boss instead of Godzilla, it’s feasible since they share bore spacing they can likely go down the same line for machining.
