- Gav and Jack went to a near by sandpit to show Jack doing some impressive acrobatics. He does a front flip at 2500fps (100 times slower than real time) and a back flip at 1000fps. Gav also tries his trick which is called "Jump completely upside down and then do nothing." Gav still has sand in his pockets.

Do a flaming paper airplane in slow motion. You could use card stock, it burns the slowest.

I just want to say, thank you so much for making this video. I take gymnastics and am currently working on my backflips. Not to call out flaws, but I finally understand why my coach keeps telling me not to throw my head back when I flip! :D It helps to see in slow-mo what happens.

I love that when they go into the "Superman's" their faces are so serious but when they start going down they're like, "WTF?!? HELP!"
This is extremely helpful, I've been trying to get the flip down for a few weeks now, and seeing it in slow mo helps me realize what I'm doing wrong. Not nearly as catastrophically wrong as Gav's attempt, but I don't rotate enough and my arms aren't doing what they are supposed to do. And I would like to suggest you film the rear tire of a dirt bike starting from a standing stop, then quickly accelerating in mud, sand, gravel, ect so that we can see the knobbies' roosting abilities in slow mo.
Someone ought to hire you guys to help film their parkour videos xD

Is it normal to be able to do a front flip better than a back flip? I always hear people say back flips are easier than front flips. Is that true?
yes it is i can do a front flip off a 1 metre high wall but can't even do a backflip onto thick crash mats
Well, technically backflips are easier since you can spot your landing easier and don't use as much energy to flip. But some start off with the frontflip to get over the fear of flipping.
Camilo Bayona I can definitely understand why back flips easier to land; you're looking at the ground towards the end of the flip. But what about the rotation?
Easy as well, you are jumping up, and tucking your knees. Your knees pushes the momentum to rotate you backwards and you complete your flip. On a frontflip, you have to set high, jump high with blocking tuck and open when you can't spot the ground. It takes. More energy. That is why the backflip is easier.
Thank Goodness Gavin didn't try a back flip.

I am 14 years old, and Slow motion REALLY fascinates me. My first Slow Mo camera I got was on my 14th birthday, a Casio, going up to 1000fps. It's quite impressive for a compact camera, But what I don't like is it's resolution. About 24p. VERY wide. And Once I get a job when I leave collage, I am going to be a computer mechanic, fixing pcs for friends, family and the public. I want to get enough money to make my OWN High speed cameras. And if I fail that, I am looking for a HS camera that goes to 1000fps, in Full HD. 4K if that's available. And I want to know, how long does it take to get enough money to get one of these cams?

Aadarsh Pooran I am learning about CMOS image sensors, and I was looking for one online. But then I thought if I want to succeed ridiculously fast frames, then I will probably have to craft one myself. (It probably won't be TOO hard, with my mechanic skills and knowledge)
Now I can finally watch the slow mo guys without feeling jealous about how good their camera is XD
(Not that I want to make better videos than them, I wouldn't be surprised if I stole ideas and such from them, and get like 0-1 view a day XD)

Only in SOME circumstances is it easier..
+Jenna Sams The backflip is a lot more scary than the front flip but it is actually very easy. The fear just makes it hard
+zach girton Not necessarily, I can see what you mean, but it all comes to how you learned it. I learned my back somersault first on the trampoline with a jumper wrapped round my waist. I worked at that whilst being shown technical points (Streching up, not throwing your head back and pushing with your hips). I then had a mat thrown in for me. Finally, I got my back somersault.I find it easy and not scary because I was taught properly. However, without that, others may find it VERY scary and difficult because they have not been taught (by anyone ) the correct way to do the skill and how not to fear it.

I thought for sure he was going to be paralyzed for life, that was close. Word of advice, learn proper technique before attempting anything not safe. Cool vid though.

I bursted out in laughter at Gavin's flip, oh my god.
The dude that ws actually doing the flips had such horrible technique, especially with the backflip. you're not supposed to throw your head back, and you need to tuck TIGHT, his frontflip wasn't super bad but he still needs to tuck that more. With his backflip he almost wasnt tucking at all lol.
I am a freerunner and yeah I noticed that straight away. You are meant to pull your self over in a Tuck. His technique wouldn't work everytime. Lucky it was into a sand pit.

finally someone elsewho knows i do tricking he didnt even land the backflip (barely even a backflip more like a whip) and the frontflip was a horrible landing
