Another "Tech Tuesday" video segment!!
This week I am in Queensland where I popped in for a visit at Mikes Shocks Shop. Mike is a shocks guru and has a lot of experience building, servicing and tuning shocks for all different types of vehicles
Today I picked his brain to show how the inside of a shock works, and some information that you may not know about servicing and maintenance.

I regularly polish my shaft, never forget good shaft protection!
Good stuff.
Mike's final sentence is what all people looking to upgrade the suspension on their rigs needs to know.
This channel is so under rated good vid mate

Hi mate, running the IBPs on a street driven car?
Mate another awesome video with the legend mr mikey zacka
Sick vid dude 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥
Great video mate. 🤘🏻 heaps of good info. 🤙🏻Keen to get our coil rates spot on and put the 2.5 remote resi to the test.
Mate I'm going down the same path. Have some nice 2.5 Fox shocks on a N80 Hilux but am not 110% happy. I see you have a 100 series? What are your plans for calculating that ideal coil spring rate? Obviously then you'll be revalving to suit? It's so hard to find people here (even 4x4 enthusiasts) that have any idea or even interest in this stuff beyond just fitting an off the shelf 3" lift
@@wlspn hey mate. Yeah it is hard to find some good info. First thing I did was weigh the cruiser to see exactly what we were playing with. Then contacted Nick from solve and he has been working with king coils to build some progressive rate 4 inch coils to suit my weights and shock length 🤘🏻 been through to many off the shelf coils now so wanted to get it right 👌🏻
nice learnt heaps from that
Good stuff
Well described barny rubble
good vid, can you please do one on how you made your headlights
Nice video and i bet they do more fox rebuilds then any other brand
Is there any external bypass shocks that fit in passenger cars like a gu patrol, or are we limited to internal like bp51 or tough dogs?
That 7 tube shock looks like a home made still
Or the Gun from 5th Element
Definitely ain’t home made mate
Good video bro lot learnt
yeoow yeoow ;)
Ok, ahhh yeh, uhh huh, ok. Cmon man mate uve been to some of the most quality shops in oz and thats ya answer. Lucky the hosts explain it
Are you gonna do another 4wd build?
I thought Mike was a wise old man plot twist 😂
I have Old man Emu BP51 shocks. are they fully rebuildable?
I spoke to ARB as I was looking into them. The salesman I got suggested to me that ARB could rebuild them if there were problems but would often tend to replace them. This leads me to believe that they MAY not be fully rebuildable in the way that a King or Fox, etc shock is. I'm sure Mikes Shocks could give you a definite answer though.
How do you find the BP51s?
I'm shocked
🤙🤙🤙
Welcome to QLD bro :)
Love the classic porno music 😂
