I've been keto for over a year and recently celebrated my son's 14th birthday. I'm a type 2 diabetic and control my glucose without meds keeping my numbers low consistently. I use slow carbs when cycling but anyways. We had double fudge birthday cake and I really wanted to have some so I downed a glass of acv in water with cinnamon before eating the cake. My glucose only went up to 115 which for sure kicked me out of ketosis but wasn't a big enough spike to cause concerns with the diabetes. It did however upset my stomach like when you eat to much sugar. Totally get where it can make you feel like crap. But it was nice to be able to join everyone else in the celebration. Don't think I'll be doing it again anytime soon though. :)

Great message :-) Personally, I follow several Health Channels. Each one gives me knowledge of how to eat, train, etc. What I have done is, I chew the meat and spit out the bones... Since being diagnosed with Diabetes, I have gradually developed my own diet, one that is right for me, my finances and my lifestyle. Since being injured in an accident, my income has really taken a hit, so now I am building a Hydroponic garden, to grow my own Organic vegetables. Not having to buy Organic veggies will make room to buy other essentials... Like you, I developed what is right for me... I'm my own experiment... You have good reasons to live your diet and I have mine. Everyone is different and one diet cannot be right for everyone. We are human and not punched out with a cookie cutter... I love your approach. You make a lot of sense. Thanks for the video. It's very helpful :-)

This is very helpful. To summarize: he takes several different diet approaches that reduce the impact of insulin. All the methods he used can be found in various diet books. But in summary, they all talk about how important it is to lower foods that impact insulin levels. So he is saying that he uses multiple methods to reach his goals, depending upon what he's trying to achieve.

Thanks much! You're exactly right about don't combine fats with carbs especially animal fats. A few seeds maybe, like on a salad but none is best. Many people confuse carbs because they put them in one group. Complex carbs like potatoes are good while simple carbs like refined and processed foods like doritos are bad. From the Starch diet to Paleo I've been looking for an answer of what is better long term. You've satisfied my search. Great video!

But combining fat with carb will further reduce the overall GI of the meal .

More explanation is needed on why fat should not be combined with carbs .

Seperate your Carbs and your Fats. That's exactly what I wrote down on my journal a couple of weeks ago. It's amazing to see that you arrived at a similar conclusion.
I arrived at this conclusion looking at some high carb vegans that also succeed by taking away fats. It seems like people who eat carbs and skip fats are as successful as low carbers if they keep seperating the two.

I always eat most my fat as my last meal with spinach or kale on the side or zuchinni. I do not eat after 6 pm. I may have a glass of whiskey though. I eat my carb fruit after my first meal. I prefer to workout briefly during ketosis and then again an hour after I eat. I do brief walks after my last meal. I do two meals a day only now. I love cycle schedule and seeing fast results and feeling stronger.. I love your videos
