Love a deal like that. We're a little more partial to the store picks of 1792 FP so we usually leave those for whoever else wants 'em.

That Willett at the end makes my eyes water, I bought an 8 year purple top in a lottery for $330 last month. So seeing 9/10 year purple tops at $1100-1300 is wild. I know Willett second hand market prices are up there, but a liquor store shouldn't be charging THAT much... I guess it's nice they're available at all.

The RR13 was probably best price in the store. Think msrp is around 150-160. Most of the other prices are beyond

Wow a lot of those shelvers are ridiculously priced.
1792 BiB & FP sit on shelf for under $50.
    T
    Benchmark Bonded $32😂😂
RR10 for $60 where other states $32-42 just wow.
    RRSiB $15 over
Those St Nicks were great prices.
Love the Irish but damn $450 for Blue Spot is the highest I have seen it now and that Green Spot Barton is $100 more than I paid for my 4 (but on sale from $95
Redbreast 15 was only decently priced Redbreast.
That Dalmore King Alexander I saw sold at auction for £140

    • @BondingOverBourbon
      @BondingOverBourbon  4 месяца назад +1

Some places are better about this than others. The ones that keep the prices up are usually stockpiling lower tier products that don't sell well and offset the price onto the more allocated items.

Seeing Weller SR at $80; I'd have walked straight out. Richter's barrel proof for $300? Surprised they "only" marked the Richter's 10 yr up by about $70.😄 Crazy prices. Heck; the Weller 107 was marked up a good $60 OVER SECONDARY!

I'm sure eventually someone will be willing to pick these up at those prices if money isn't an issue. Unfortunately, we're just humble WhiskeyTubers and don't have that kind of budget.

We used to get it a lot when it was easier to find 3 years years ago. Since then we've replaced it with ryes from Still Austin, Middle West, High Wire Revival, Green River, JD BiB, and Wilderness Trail. They're much easier to find and almost half the price.

Where I'm at demand for the standard Buffalo Trace is high and you hardly ever see it on the shelf at *any* price. Last time I saw it a month back it was "Limit 1" per person and you could only get it as a bundle with a handle of Wheatley vodka.

Cool selection but criminal prices on a lot of that! I get it, they don't want people turning bottles around and making a profit. Unicorn Auctions is after all, based in Chicago.
I just got my Bourbon Junkies Evernorth Spirits Night Stalker Volume 2 barrel proof. Black cherry cola flavor bomb! Other than that, the allocated raffle for this month was lackluster so I'm skipping driving each day this week for daily signups. Better luck next month hopefully!

Thanks for watching! Where are you visiting from?
Yeah, you should definitely check out Park West Liquor in Lincoln Park. They get a ton of 1792 labels and they don't really mark them up. Make sure to stop at the Lincoln Park Binny's while you're there too! Rayan's Liquor (not the discount one) near Uptown has a ton of access, plus off market bottles that the family business has been collecting for generations. They do a Stagg deal for $100 if you buy their store picks. Warehouse Liquors in South Loop has a ton of really rare, obscure or hard to find bottles.
Hopefully this helps you find what you're looking for.
