It's interesting to see excessive animation used in a Japanese action game to its determent, when such a thing more typically afflicts "western" developed ones. I guess bad ideas are universal.
I kinda love and hate this game at the same time for its bizarre mechanics. You can call it either a Hidden Gem™ or a kusoge and I would agree with both opinions.
I adore the animation in this game. It's so pretty!... but the game would have been greatly improved without that damn time limit and easily killed Papa. The game could have been a fun puzzle platformer that showcases the beautiful animation without punishing the player. I say, just play Noobow instead!
1:51 oh that's a good ninja, lol! not familiar with the series but I suppose if the US can get a 'home improvement' game anything's possible on the Japanese side. some of it seems rough, though.
Damn, I understand it was a mistake but the sprite animations are gorgeous. Reminds me of the Warioland series.
"we put a lot of effort into these poses and you are going to appreciate every single one of them"

Unique MASTERPIECE on this one!!!
This game is like a Ferrari since only people are capable to appreciate it and to handle it properly.

"Kodansya" is....one way to romanise Kodansha.
Those animations should have been in an RPG instead where they didn't slow things down so much.
The author has run into the problem of main characters being overtaken in everything he's ever done

I think a lot of late Famicom/NES games just reused the design elements from Game Boy games, so maybe that happened here?
