This is kind of controversial but I don't like to use projectile turrets unless I have to (i.e abyssal deadspace). But I agree that energy turrets absolutely suck.
To be fair, it's not that lasers suck, they're actually REALLY good, I just don't like them. I like the crack and thunder of Projectiles, lasers feel too soft and pew pew rather than THAKKABOOM. If that makes sense?
Have you seen the original Crucifier? Absolutely a Trade Federation Droid!! www.google.com/search?sca_esv=597880846&sxsrf=ACQVn08tHuG0I4iw8V9e2HzpDg4fCRQplw:1705090893580&q=eve+online+crucifier+old&tbm=isch&source=lnms&prmd=ivnbmtz&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiQ1JXI1tiDAxVrZUEAHeNHBqEQ0pQJegQIChAB&biw=412&bih=783&dpr=2.63#imgrc=QdiYVb3vCJRt9M
I really like the names for the Devoter and Inquisitor. For me the name Devoter implies commitment and I think that works with how the warp bubble prevents everyone from escaping. The implication that the name Inquisitor has feels really sinister when you spend a lot of time locking up your allies :)
Another thing about the Heretic you might like. (IIRC) the Khanid religion differs from the Amarr in that they believe the invention of capsule and warp drive tech will allow capsuleers to eventually conquer God. The curves in the Amarr logo allegedly represent humanity and God and this is why the Khanid logo is an inverted version of the Amarr one. It's a stretch, but it could be named this way because the Heretic disables warp drives and makes it easy to catch capsules.
I should say, it's heretical in the sense that the Khanid believe that conquering God is their destiny and the Heretic's abilities counter the technology they believe will allow them to do that.
@@DROLAK I think it's more likely that the Khanid names having much more "Punch God In The Face" names comes from that ideology. Sacrilege. Heretic. Curse. Anathema...
Is that why you like them? Because you have a hatred of God? Billions of people leading charitable lives following spiritual excellence @ pure virtue rather than decaying into hatred and lusts? You understand the development of the amarr names and themes are from people who are trying to portray the Catholics in a terrible light by literally subverting the theme itself with every aspect of malign intent despite being the religion that won out over the ancient world nearly 90% by word and mission alone, contrary to Islam which conquered by the sword and mass enslavement.. please do your history without a hard conviction before hand.
Honestly? My favorite is the Amarr Shuttle, as it looks like Anakin's yellow shuttle from one of the Prequels. Remember when he catches Obi Wan? That ship. The Amart Shuttle reminds me of that.
I always thought Amarr had some of the sleekest looking ships with cool names to back up their design. Crucifier/Sentinel are hands down my favorite ships to fly around in for their looks, names, and playstyles. They're perfect, to me. I do feel like Amarr names feel VERY Warhammer 40k. Edit: Light grammar correcting.
I always thought Legion referred to the bible verse where the demon/evil spirits possessed one man but were many...t3 cruiser is one ship, but can be many things.
I'm a great lover of the Damnation for all the reasons you quoted and the fact (in my mind at least) that it resembles a muscular eagle and can tank like a brick. I'll send a thunderbolt at anyone who argues it looks like a fat bird. Plenty of those where I live and I don't appreciate being reminded of it.
My fan theory is that the Amarr are naming their ships after literal latin words that just show up in ancient documents and became magic words over the centuries.
Dude do not worry so much... I am Christian... Been a confirmed Catholic... I do not identify as "catholic" any more as I am concerned about the corruption in the church. BUT that doesn't make me freak out. I criticize the church all day every day.... and do not be afraid to criticize my religion or faith. My faith will survive being criticized :) I actually find the Amarr stuff fascinating it reminds me a great deal of Warhammer 40,000
As you mentioned that you studied all three major religions, i would really want to hear from your perspective, which ine of them. Do you think it corresponds best with Amarr? I am actually a religious person and still can't seem to tell where the author inspiration comes from as i literally see Amarr in each and every one of the three religions! In literature, it is extraordinary to have strong ties to something yet have opposition to the very same thing! It's just amazing! I do believe the author imagined specific one religion taking over the other two, eliminating specific one, and the third is just too rooted to remove, yet they agree to unify their ideology just for the sake of facing the non believers! Also, the ties to Caldari i just directly think of Khabib Nurmagomedov and his loyalty to the largest authoritarian country ever! Everything is just amazingly connected yet vague enough to not trigger!
When you say the three "major" religions, I'm assuming you mean Christianity, Judaism and Islam (because I don't think I could call Hinduism, Sikhism or Buddhism minor 😉) Those three Abrahamic religions share a lot of similarities (in as much as they basically share the same holy text with some additions and different interpretations) and so I feel that the Amarr faith in EVE is similarly Abrahamic. It's dogmatic, rather than karmic, and follows many of the same motifs followed by all three largely draped in trappings reminiscent of Roman Catholicism and Orthodox Christianity in terms of regalia and an Inquisitorial leaning. I wouldn't say it's based on any of the Abrahamic religions, more inspired by them. It's very much its own unique religion but hits similar notes and themes. Remember that, in the EVE Lore, humanity utterly collapsed with the fall of the EVE Gate and goes through another dark age. All the empires have their own mythology, so it's entirely possible that the Amarrian faith is based on scraps of various religions from Old Earth, mixed in with local mythology. Someone in Amarrian history, after the collapse of EVE Gate, did something or witnessed something that couldn't be explained with the knowledge that they had (essentially having regressed to pre-medieval understanding) and faith came from that, bolstered by ancient texts.
@captainbenzie True true , eventually it's supposed to be up to our imagination. Yet somehow, i feel like some of the details are giveaways. A lot of the known npc Amarr characters have literally Islamic names (Arabian Origins), especially in the "dark amarr" the khanid kingdom, and also the stated relationship between Caldari and Khanid and militaristic technology cooperation, the relationship between Militaristic Authoritarian nations (Russia, Japan etc) and the "Caucasian" (Dagestan , Uzbekistan etc) which are technically Russians 🙄 , Khabib Nurmagomedov is clearly a khanid lol. Character creation limits (facial traits) can also ensure that idea for me. All in all, the authors have surprisingly knitted the whole thing tight enough to not give a clear answer, yet it is there for those who want it to be there. Thank you so much captain for your reply. it means a lot 🙏
The church is a device of man, and man is flawed. My understanding of religion is to love people and be good to people. Also, Judge not lest you be judged. I respect anyone who shows me respect, but I will pray for anyone to be happy, healthy, and safe. There are too many in organized religion who forget many of the rules, I think.. but ANYWAY!! Another very interesting video with the etymology of the names. Very interesting indeed 😊
Glad you enjoyed, and very much my opinion with religion too. My Dad recently "found religion" in a big way, and it's been difficult. I have no qualms with any religion, I think they can all be beautiful and wonderful things, and if they help someone to be a better, happier person, I am all for it. My issues come when people try to use their religion to dictate how others should live, or when they use that religion in a hypocritical way to harm others. I'm atheistic, but in an agnostic way, I've just never found a religion or spirituality that "fit" 😅
@captainbenzie if you find a religion that fits thats awesome, if not, i get the feeling you live a good life and do your best to do good things and that puts you ahead of quite a few peopke who call themselves very religious. Just the time you spend making these videos to help people says to me that you are a person who cares about helping people! I don't think you need an organized religion to be a good person and live a good life! Have actually been watching some of your neurodivergence videos, and not to share too much, I can relate there as well, I also have pretty strong PTSD and anxiety disorder.
Yes that’s all well and good, but on a civilization level you have to have structure to faith or else it becomes anyone guess, do you go to a random hobo in the woods who claims he’s a doctor to have him operate on your ailing child? No you go to a professional who can discern the true from false.. humans of all forms have always used and needed spiritual leaders (priests) for guidance. Unfortunately Christianity (specifically Catholics) is the only one these days getting stones thrown at it for no reason but people being devoid of soul & god, the atheists are angry and take out their frustrations on Christianity who dared to bring humans to a higher level of objective morality & high trust interlinked societies & monastic communes.
33:40 Orator?!
YES. YES. ORATOR. THANK YOU!! 😂😂😂
Dark eldar are now called the “Drukhari” btw.
@@Wychfyre_ thank you!
The glory of Amarr is greater than ten thousands suns.
But there are a hundred thousand in New Eden.

Amarr ships are SO regal looking! Sometimes I like that look, sometimes I think it's too much! It varies day by day, if I'm being honest!
I totally agree! Thing is, that regality is not my aesthetic 😅
6:04 I've always thought the Punisher looks like a Battle Droid's(from Star Wars) head. Even gave some of them names like "Roger" and "Roger, Roger"

Richard the Lion Heart. His younger brother was John.
Haha thank you
Amarr = Shiny on the outside, dead on the inside.
Lmao 🤣
I appreciate the back story to the Amarr ship tree.
Glad you enjoyed!!
I always thought Legion referred to the bible verse where the demon/evil spirits possessed one man but were many...t3 cruiser is one ship, but can be many things.
We are Legion indeed
I genuinely pray you do find something like that and that it saves your soul brother. Love the video by the way
I appreciate that

For the devoter a better word your looking for is a cryer like a town cryer that delivers the news or herald would be even better word
Abaddon of course! Even with 3 bill fits, yes:) Monolith. Symmetry. Beam lasers. It’s just awesome.
Good choice!
Amazing content Cap! Keep it going!
Thanks, will do!
47:02 "You merely ADPOTED the darkness. I was BORN in it!"(or something close enough to that)

LMAO

Warhammer 40,000 is a great universe! And I'm glad that you have that confidence in your faith.
Have either of you heard of Vatican II and the difference between traditional Latin mass vs Novus Ordo?
Ah Man, you remind me of battle drugs died Archons! You surely had great fun engaging Amarr ship's names! From an Anathema and Legion pilot. ❤
I did! I may not like the Amarr lore or colour scheme or lasers, but I love the Khanid ships and there's some awesome stuff here!
I quite enjoy the Harbinger as my favourite Amarr ship, though my Coerser is my go-to for Abyssal runs.
Great ships!!
I like you even more after hearing your religious opinions :D

Maller is my favorite ship in EVE and I've pronounced it wrong for 14 years...
Don't worry! It's one of the most mispronounced ships in the game!
I mean the Amarr ARE descended from the Catholic Church.
It's there anything to actually confirm that?
Nice skin
Could the Slicer have been designed/produced by the Ammatar Mandate?
Nothing in the lore...
Studies show that Criminals can't reoffend if they are executed.
If only it were that simple
Hmmm… better name the Slicer? How about Circumciser? 😂
DAMN 🤣
