I probably will not attend WSBG again soon, but I definitely am glad that I went and would recommend it to others. My main purpose for going was to see what it was all about and I had a great time, but I also realized that competition gaming just isn't as much fun for me as the open gaming was. Learning that about myself is a "me" thing that I'm happy to now know. The people I met at both open gaming and at the competitions were great and so friendly. It's amazing that I was able to play (and lose badly) a game of Arnak to the 2023 grand champion. I've also been bragging to everyone that I lost round 2 of Cascadia to the ring winner/3rd place finalist by only a single point. The whole trip was totally worth the experience. For my time and money, I'll be more likely to stick to events that are more focused on open gaming, but I never would have known that preference if I didn't give it a shot. Also, we survived the Valley of Fire. It was not quite as dangerous as those Horseshoe elevators.

It would be pretty fun though, but I think because the skills of dexterity are so far removed from other board gaming skills and also because I think they'll stay away from 2 player games since patchwork was logistically complicated - likely not to be
Yes, Chris, the vlog was somewhat interesting I guess! I'd love to make it to WSBG some day, but by the time I make it happen it'll probably be the hottest ticket on the Strip. So far I only venture to PAXU (and maybe LevelUp 2025?) because those don't require me to pay for a flight in addition to everything else.
Yeah the flight is always the killer. I remember a story my dad told me of going to Vegas in the 90s and meeting someone who ran their business out of there just because there was always a direct flight to anywhere he needed to go. I'll be going to Level Up 2025 for sure, so if you make it we'll have to play a game :)
@@rahdo it's a plugin only on PC, but means you can add 4 customizable lower thirds in as a browser source. I use it for the players names to pop in and out
@@ziverkoc mostly cost. There isn't much of a budget and most of the gear either comes from Keith or myself. I'm a little unfamiliar with NDI although I remember looking into it back in the day when I was using primarily VDO ninja to make remote connections - which I then opted for because it was free (although I still donate monthly to the GitHub server costs because it was such a lifesaver). Also wireless tech without the ability to test it much on the casino wifi is also a bit of a scarier consideration if you're depending on the connection and then it goes down, so having the wired option feels a bit easier to troubleshoot. Do you have experience with NDI running on a more public wifi set up? And in terms of cost for running a 3-4 (to 6-8) ideally camera setup with live switching capabilities, do you know how much that would run me? Definitely open to hearing ways to make it more efficient but the budget is pretty low so I have to pick and choose what we go for. I had to make the decision of whether I get cable spools for easier setup or whether we get the insta cam, that was one of the decisions this year to see how I could push the budget haha.

@@steambud1013 I don't think I will be because they did the 1 dollar pre pledge according to my patrons, but I know it's the same company as unstable unicorns, here to slay and casting shadows, and I know that casting shadows has been just sort of received as "meh". I find their games are usually a bit overpriced/overproduced for the gameplay, unless you really like more casual games.
