lol this all just sounds like stuff terrans players wish list. They should allow units in medivacs to just all attack and call it a day. This could be a vehicle strategy based commander.
If you play The Vermilion Problem, does Donny Vermilion say nice things about you or does he still put a negative spin on everything until a marine shoots him and?or Kate Lockwell replaces him?
drakolobo But why doesn't terran have a durable Assault unit like MBT of CnCs in game while Protoss have immortal and archon? Vultures are too fragile.
@drakolobo is uninformed in basic concept of what an MBT even is. The lore itself is wrong and stupid. Adding more functions just makes less room and less weight allowance for armor, and costs more, and is putting too much resources into one vehicle and risk draining resources every time a "siege tank" goes down due to it having thin armor that should have been thick enough to not die in the first place. It's just better to build a pure tank. And maybe they can install a better, specialized main gun that kills better and doesn't have to sacrifice its functionality for the ability to turn into an artillery piece. Pure artillery already are supposed to set up for firing and then pack up when they leave. It's just better to build a pure artillery. Can carry more rounds that way if they use a single type of munitions only, leaves more room to install perhaps a better gun that can shoot further or something. Did you know that simpler machinery with less movable pieces are sturdier and usually easier to maintain, produce, and design? It's like Vikings, no one cares they can go into walker mode. It sucks. If Terran commanders in-universe are given the choice to have better vikings that are even better at fighting in the air at the cost of removing their ability to transform into something that they are subpar at anyway, they'd opt for that in a heartbeat. Since this is Co-op anyway, give the mighty Terran Dominion a 200HP 3 Armor MBT and a separate artillery piece that shoots further. Or just leave that out and build an air unit that already is an TankEvac, but better because it is specifically designed to fill that flying death artillery in the first place.
Their durable assault unit in the SC2 era is suppose to be the Thor. As for why they don't have anything more durable in a tank role besides elite Siege Tanks? Well, for one, game balance. Blizzard gives the races units based on their "faction identity," and the Terran's identity is versatility and being a bunch of glass cannons. A Tank that doesn't transform when they already have Thors and Siege Tanks is redundant, and having one durable enough to compete with Immortals makes it clash with the racial identity of Protoss. Yeah, that's a sucky reason, but that's what it is. As for the lore, well, transformation units are in StarCraft solely because Chris Metzen is a huge Transformers nerd. That's it. They already have a Siege Tank since StarCraft 1, so why would they make a dedicated MBT that can't transform? That's a downgrade! For them, it's about rule of cool. They don't care about making units with logic or sense. That's why in the manga, Vikings are basically Macross Valkyries and just rip apart and destroy tanks with single missile volleys while tanking said missiles at the same time. Yet in game, they don't behave like that at all. It's super inconsistent. Besides that, the best excuse I can give you is that, before the Zerg and Protoss showed up, the Confederacy's military was unmatched. They didn't need an MBT. Siege Tanks won against the Kel-morian's tanks because they used modified mining vehicles. If things escalated and you needed something really durable and has the biggest guns, you'd just get a Battlecruiser. And then the fight is between capital ships and ground pounders vacate the area post-haste. Even with the Protoss and Zerg showing up, because of how asymmetrical they are to each other, Terrans can't make a durable tank that can stand up against the Protoss and the Zerg work, so they make the Thor which is a huge walker with giant slabs of armor... and it still gets downed by Immortals and Zerglings easy-peasy anyways. StarCraft is just not the military science fiction you want if you're looking for tanks.
You could argue this is worse, as the medivacs aren't as tanky as herc, don't have the full map teleport, and kill their loaded troops if they die (units in the herc survive with about 80% hp if the herc dies).
Oh wow, this is a reference to the book Uprising where Mengsk opens up his battlecruiser's hanger doors to fire at Duke's cruiser with siege tanks!
As a terran player
This is so beautiful
This is available only in co-op mode:(
as a terran player u want nukes without casting time and nothing else
lol this all just sounds like stuff terrans players wish list. They should allow units in medivacs to just all attack and call it a day. This could be a vehicle strategy based commander.
As a terran player, I wanted siege tank to be mounted on battle cruiser since the first game went out :D
Therapist: Flying siege tanks don't exist, they can't hurt you
Flying siege tanks:
We didn't give Maru this upgrade...
I'm disappointed Artosis didn't call it the Medank
U mean, MediTank?
I usually call Stukov space Stalin BUT THIS DUDES SPACE HITLER
Stukov is more like Marshal Zhukov than Stalin.
If you play The Vermilion Problem, does Donny Vermilion say nice things about you or does he still put a negative spin on everything until a marine shoots him and?or Kate Lockwell replaces him?
Maru: not too late now
Flying siege tanks.
FLYING SIEGE TANKS!
THIS IS EVIL
Glorious guardian of terran. Too bad that Terran lacks MBT to push front until he created the Marauder suit. Their "Tank" is just a Clumsy Artilery.
is uninformed in the lore the siege tank carries plasma cannons in its assault mode is a mulit purpose tank

CrabTastingMan I cannot understand Why didn't terran have a robust assault unit in SC1. Vulture is too fragile to use as this.

Beautiful
So a Swann's hercules but better, well, I know how to deal with sky terran now lol

무책임하게 상상력을 발휘하는 마지막 상태까지 다다른것 같네요.
다음번엔 해병 하나가 불멸자를 때려잡고,
저글링이 날아다니면서 전투순양함을 터트리고 다니겠네요.
keen santiago Terran needs a true MBT too. Not a fragile, clumsy Artilery.
@ᄇᄑ 탱료선이야 있었지만 대공은...
뭘 새삼스럽게 지금도 노바타이커스제라툴데하카는 일당백인데
