- Street vendors in the Bronx say they're being hit with more tickets and fines than they can count, and now they're calling on the city to make a change. CBS New York's Shosh Bedrosian has been following this story for months. Many vendors tell her they're trying to comply with the regulations, but can't physically get a license.

We already have too many street vendors. This is what happens when you have too many migrants. You can’t give licenses to everyone.
These Illegal vendors take away from the small businesses that pay their dues to the city to operate here. do you know how much liability / workers comp / license fees are? OH BOY what about Rent, Utilities, and Payroll??? lol the biggest monthly expense of all that you, illegal venders, are avoiding. Those tickets are your punishment for avoiding paying the city in which you operate in. You can't just set up anywhere without paying your fair share to be there.... Apply properly and see how easy it is to obtain and maintain (it's not). These Illegal vendors are even doing harm to Properly Licensed vendors as well. Not all street vendors are illegal. First stop the bias. Many of those street vendors are refugees and asylum protected citizens. Also many veterans are on the same boat. They can't get a license as well

It's illegal to live in a storage unit and poses lots of health and safety concerns and violations for the business, allowing a person to literally use the unit as a sleeping location.

The poorer you are. The poorer you will be. That's the government goal. Keep you down. Keep you poor. The government does the same to all poor people. With cars. With a house or property. With a business. But government is ok with you being poor. Because they want (government) to come and rescue you and take a picture so they can show off and look good.

Streets shouldn't be filled with all these illegal vendors. I feel so sad that the living situation is, but what's illegal is illegal. When African American vendors were in Harlem across from the Apollo, they didn't get fines. They were told to move to a section created for them. We don't need a cap lift because hard working people shouldn't have to come home from work and have the streets filled with vendors like at the Kingsbridge Armory.
If they want to be a street vendor get the license. When I sold things at a flea market. I had to get a license and pay taxes. These people are killing the local stores.

After 2 years, how much have you saved from struggling? You should have an apartment by now unless you now accept and choose to live that way. Sometimes, people don't learn from the struggles hardships, and they settle for crumbs. Life is what YOU MAKE IT. The mailman doesn't deliver mail to a car, so how can you get welfare,public assistance, or food stamps? You could have even gone to a shelter and stacked your money for a place.

The vendors are illegal I just don't understand how you're not being treated fair when you're actually breaking the law, I live in Queens there's too many vendors on the sidewalk, you can even walk, it's unsafe.

I get it's illegal to be a street vendor, but the police certainly knows who to target. Why not give tickets to the countless people riding unlicensed with unregistered mopeds and scooters? This man is a human being and deserves to be able to make a living wage without being bombarded with high fines. The real problem is that not enough vendor licenses are being issued out.
It's the law. You can't come to any block to sell without proper lic. Look my Grand mother went thru all this in the 70s and because of her. The system came to solution to have permits because prior to it every Italians and Greeks use to have hot dogs stands downtown in central park,until my grandmother came with her peragua cart and she was being escorted out. Then she shouted the dame should be apply to all. Then she was arrested and the young lords where there and surrounded her and they release her and gave ger a fine . The. She went to supprem court. This sis when they set the law to have proper venders lic and buying or bid for locations or rt.. We went thru the struggle.

It's not illegal to be a street vendor to sell in my state is not too hard but it's not easy getting one if I was him he should be applying for what is called a Hawkers license and that's pretty much the same as a street vendor except he cannot stay in the same spot too many days in a row.
I don't know how New York law works but that's not that difficult to sell on the sidewalk with a street vendor's license he's just going out there and selling Goods without being licensed and that's why he keeps getting ticketed and then he calls up the news and tries to play the victim this is just trying to take shot at Leticia James in New York going up against the that dude from Florida I think his name is Trump I forget his name he's not important.

I do know how street vendor license work yes I did see the video and yes they just have a cap on how many people can be a food vendor he just doesn't qualify because there's a cap.
But if you really look at it the state put a cap on purpose so they can have the police out there and Bill him extra money if the guy is doing it unlicensed he doesn't have to even pay taxes because he's not technically licensed.
I'm not that misinformed it's not that hard to be a vendor to sell Goods on the street unless you're selling food now that is a different story I don't think the guy is selling food I think this guy was selling just regular clothing that doesn't require a food license that's a more serious thing to get.
I would never buy food from a street vendor if he or she didn't display the license from the state because any type of food that you eat could be your last meal!. But I don't understand why we are both arguing over the same thing. LOL 🥰😂😭😂🤷♀️

It's not that hard to get a street vendor license it's the person approving the license that is a Karen they won't give that poor man his street vendor license because his name is not Chad Wachowski, the vendor license approval applicant looked at the name and said Jose Gonzalez denied!. 😂😭😂💯👏🏼💯
His name has to be Bob or Chad or Mark if his name was Chad Whitaker he get that license and the vendor license manager would have handed the application vendor license personally at the house would have went under the sheets and suck the donut while having the street vendor license but since his name is Jose Gonzalez?
