Complete Interior Auto Upholstery Restoration.
I had the unique opportunity to restore the interior of this one of a kind car. All Interior was completed remade all the way down to the nuts and bolts.

The only thing I'd do different is make the rear door gaps disappear. Blend (or lead) them into the body for a more sleek look. Modify the trim to accommodate removal of rear door gaps.
I concur. I did not know of such an alteration in the late 50s. I assume it was done in all periods. I think funeral flower cars are still being fabricated-an after market effort I assume.

Nice job, hate to see a Packard, even a Clipper cut up, but better than the crusher. I don't see why you did the 3rd and 4th doors. It doesn't appear they open into the bed. Glad you stuck with period design. To me, it looks far better than a totally updated interior with a quarter sized steering wheel.
beautiful interior however the builder should have eliminated the rear door openings.
Made with steel , not plastic , its a eye catcher.

It's a flower car for a funeral home.
Beautiful work, and the music fits this classy automobile. Where are you located? I have a '57 Golden Hawk.
Is this a factory model or aftermarket?
I think these were 1950's funeral home flower cars....there were several companies that modified Cadillacs and Packards for the funeral industry.
Thanks for the information. I believe I see some current luxury cars specifically used today to transport wreaths to the burial site. I wonder how far back that tradition goes?
@@michael69040 I'm not too sure. I think it probably came in with the development of specialized automobiles for the funeral service industry. In the area where I was a funeral director it was common to use a high end luxury station wagon for a flower car. We used a Nissan station wagon that would bolt out the door ahead of the funeral procession...speed to the cemetery...so when the family arrived all the flowers from the funeral were now displayed at the grave side.
I'd like to think this restoration would still be considered appropriate and useful today . It would suggest- to me at least- some understated classic dignity.
