Hey guys, greetings from Brazil. Watching your set reviews is a essential part of my pre-release ritual. Keep up with the good work!!! Waiting on green at the moment... :D
Hi! We are honoured that we are part of your ritual :D. Unfortunately it will till be a few hours till green is online. But on a positive note the multicoloured video will be up shortly after.
Really great professional videos! Thanks for taking the time to review all cards. Regarding Pathmaker Initiate, I think every deck would be happy to play this. It combos with creatures that are two power at the time, but then get pumped up. Perfect example would be the card that follows it in the review.
Glorious end opOpponent played 10 mana nissa mid game, won with g end perfectly, next game i drew 15 out of 17 lands in a row, enemy topdecks all late game, i play glorious end, win with no cards left in deck, opponent stalled me. Got 7th place
Great vids guys! Just a quibble: I would not say Bloodrage Brawler should be tier-less. At the very least, I'd say it's tier 3. Fact is, red isn't terribly afraid of discarding cards or attacking big early, both of which this guy does. 4/3 turn 2 is red exemplified (well...haste would be nice). Also, I think your equivalency of BB being equal to a 2/2 with an aura is faulty. When you lose an aura, it's mostly just unfortunate. However, there is a benefit to discarding certain cards. Additionally, if they waste removal (which, let's face it, is very valuable in this format) on your 2 drop, you're likely in a better spot than you think. Anyways, just my two cents. Keep it up with the good content :)
I feel like you guys didn't put much value on the synergy between those Discard a card (as a cost) and Embalm. And with Cycling, that card that did X based on cards in your graveyard can be easily pumped.
Well we don't value synergy too much in limited formats (unlike constructed) because the chance that you pull both cards or get to play both cards is simply less likely. Therefore statistically you should value cards which are good by themselves more highly.
Excuse you but I have a pretty descent madness strategy and bloodrage brawler not only brings a huge card to my early board but allowes me to play alms of vein for only a black mana.
That's if you are building around the card. These cards are evaluated for draft and sealed so there is a much smaller chance of such effective synergy.

Love these set reviews, so helpful because I am brand new to the game. Thanks my dudes!
Glad you found them useful Mike! You are most welcome ;).

Thanks for the complement Andrew and also for your insight on Pathmaker Initiate.

Bloodrage brawler seems like it could be amazing in constructed.
That's "Madness"!
Bloodrage Brawler is amazing i use 3
Red is the trap color for this set.
Haha you could put it that way ;).

Great points! The fact that you can build around it with some Embalm and Aftermath cards does make it better than an just a creature with an aura.

True. I just feel that if your draw has a lot of Cycling and Embalm, you should go with it rather then avoid it.
Agreed, though that's more of a discussion for overal build archetypes rather than individual card evaluation. Just our opinion though!
